You're lucky that you're not English like me. Imagine watching each of the group games and wanting to walk your dog over watching the second half in all 3 games. Southgate would be a great ASMRtist as he already has vast experience of making people fall asleep
Something that I don't think many people have highlighted is that Palmer and Gordon both won the Under-21 Euros last year. I know the standards are a lot lower but you can see (even in the small amount of time that they have played) how much more enthusiasm they have to be playing. I wonder if their tournament win with England is a factor in that or its just that they are young and more determined.
I feel that Lineker is critical because he cares about the success, I really think it is far worse if nobody cares or lying about the performances and accepting never winning anything despite having some of the worlds best players at club level.
This is an interesting perspective, thank you. I was absolutely livid yesterday, even when Bellingham scored I didn't celebrate because I was so angry. I cheered up a bit when Kane scored 😄
They can't put Saka in a defensive role. There's a reason why he longer plays there since the academy. He made a comment about it. It's like the Trent experiment at central mid it's not going to work.
Trent in the middle isn’t a bad shout tbh the issue is, Southgate has Declan Rice doing the exact same thing on the other side so none of them know what to do
We had a similar problem in 96, no natural left sided player, then along comes Steve Stone, respectable for his club but in an England Shirt he turned into prime Cruff! That was because Venables was an excellent man manager knowing a boot up the backside from a consolatory shoulder. Southgate on the other hand is a waistcoat mannequin.
@@aymen6092Too right and Gordon is a much better player than Steve Stone. Southgate hasn't even got to encourage the lad, finished article coming off a great season.
I agree with you especially with Gordon. As soon as he came on he was taking a defender on and also made a quick forward pass to Kane which made space for Palmer. I would change Bellingham to an 8 or play Mainoo, play Palmer or Foden at 10 and Gordon on the left. The passes also need to be quicker and if we do play Kane we need to get more crosses in the box. Hopefully our tournament starts on Sunday because we haven't turned up yet!
Can't wait for your NHL Draft video. I fell in love with Beckett Sennecke over the past month and his reaction to getting drafted 3rd was priceless 😆I badly wanted him in Columbus but I guess I could always watch more Ducks games
Off topic, but would you ever consider reuploading your old videos? Your hockey strategy video was probably the best ASMR video I’ve ever seen in my life
I'm an Italian fan and were we to pass against switzerland i'm still scared af of England. Even though what we achieved 3 years ago remains in history, I think England will achieve way more success in the future. Honestly i'm of the opinion that you'll go all the way to the final, hence congratulations 👏
As an Argentinian, I believe that at the player level, England is always the favorite, but when it comes to proving it, they never succeed. Currently, it is the fault of their coach who cannot bring out the potential of their star players. Pd:good video
According to The Athletic, England have the lowest XG for goals against, out of every team. It is absolutely turgid to watch. Southgate has to win the tournament playing like this or he's in trouble (sportingly I mean) The embarrassment of riches he has at his disposal and it's embarrassing how much it's wasted. Anyway, great content as always. Would be great to see Football Manager ASMR make a return.
and waiting till the 75min to implement subs is diabolical imo… the bench is full of ballers waiting to make their mark… gotta give them some more time and pull the slackers off the pitch sooner! Too much walking around Fresh legs are needed sooner
Hahaa 10 mins 30 in. Somebody said it at last. Exactly the point. As much as i want to see gordon on the left, foden in the middle and Bellingham next to rice playing the more box-to-box role. All of these ideas are mute because theyre being managed by GS anyway. No tactical plan whatsoever, not even something simple like "give the ball to X player at all costs, we can figure it out later" lol. I like palmer because he just has this "no fear, no respect" mentality, he will get the ball, face the full back and try to beat them. We need that kind of player on the wing to stretch the game, too many players with their back to the goal is too easy to press back in the mid-final third of the pitch. You need players that can beat a man in the team, the game quickly opens up after that.
I would start Rice & Jude in holding midfield, Foden or Mainoo @ #10 (prob mainoo actually but to be fair I’m United😅), Cole Palmer LW, Saka RW , Ivan Toney up top.
I agree that Gareth Southgate has been too conservative with his tactics but as a Middlesbrough fan, I can't bring myself to be too critical of him because of everything he did for my club.
Thank you! I've been waiting to play a cup game vs Tottenham but we're in a heat wave and my laptop is struggling to handle all this heat on top of gaming and recording 😂 Definitely more to come!
I think 'turgid' is the appropriate adjective to describe England in the group stages, very negative football. That said, the defence (out of possession at least) has been very solid and barely conceded a shot, though a bit nervy with the ball playing out. Would like to see Bellingham play slightly more advanced, Rice in the holding mid ; I think Kane needs a secondary striker or forward. I'd love to see Palmer and Gordon start too. Mainoo may well impact from the bench. Southgate will just play it safe probably, he's like ready salted crisps. Have a feeling we see more expressive football all round in the last 16...cagey group stage for many! Good tournament overall so far, though most of my predictions were very poor... apart from Georgia getting through which I am happy with. Poland were garbage Copa America has been great so far! Have been staying up to watch some matches. Uruguay look so so good and at the moment would be my favourites. How far do you think Canada could go? Impressive so far Damn I could honestly talk about this forever
We have to start palmer next match and we need to give Gordon minutes at least a full half. Fodens really good but he’s only got a left foot and he can’t cut in from the left side and cause problems like he does for city I think we’ll beat Slovakia then go out in the Quarters Also I’d Start Mainoo Alongside Rice
I don’t really like asmr (I follow two accounts who make specific type I like to listen to) but it’s so hilarious RU-vid showed me something niche to me as an asmr girl who talks about all sports I follow closely lol kinda scary/weird but cool.
My biggest concern is that Southgate stubbornly will not change his tact at all. It's going to be boreball all the way until we are knocked out. When we had Steve Bruce I said that Eddie Howe would be a great replacement England manager, now I say Graham Potter because I don't want Eddie to leave us 😅 Having a bet on Austria since before the tournament has at least made it exciting for me so far haha
We have been absolutely shit, I feel bad for the lads it’s predictable and slow, Southgate needs to sacked, on a positive note I went to the Howard if effingham school with Connor Gallagher he was a year above me
It's been painful to watch, and Southgate is to blame. He's a Championship standard manager who got lucky in getting an international job. We were lucky in 2018 with an easy run of games, lucky in 2020 because we played every game bar one at Wembley. He's tactically clueless playing players in wrong positions, negative and conservative. If you were a player would he inspire you? When you've been used to playing under the likes of Pep, Klopp, Arteta, Tuchel, Ancelotti etc at your clubs can you imagine going from that level of management to him? I don't think we'll improve for the Slovakia game and there could be a horrible shock (like Iceland 2016!) at least he would get the sack then.
God damn it, love, i came here for ASMR but im too invested in your opinion now to fall asleep to this lmao. I dont want to defend linekar because he just annoys me. But its flat out embarrassing watching these coddled football players talk about their feelings. Customer service operatives get worse comments thrown at them every day for minimum wage and no chance at glory. Kane talking about player's not winning anything is a bit pot-kettle too. Saying that, i prefer it when players go off script and show 1% more personality. Fudge the sponsors, they can cry more for all i care too lol.
