I'm glad you didn't give up on the channel. See, now it's growing fast. Congratulations! I am very happy for you. I also work producing content on the internet, I know how hard it is.
I’ve been a fan of horror, and I was gifted a short story collection of H.P. Lovecraft’s works. I can usually get through about one story per sesh. So far it has been captivating ☺️

As a published novelist, I LOVE this video and how you are encouraging people to read! As a novelist whose mind doesn't turn off and uses ASMR to unwind and turn my brain off, I admire your calming and perfectly ASMR voice and so enjoy listening to you. You're also stunning and are subliminally reminding me to stop touching my eyebrows when nervous as yours look fantastic, as does your glowing makeup. Thank you for these v calming videos! I've listened to this several times and can't wait to read some of these books!
as a book nerd who now needs asmr, i love this video so much please do this every year also i'm not sure if this book would be your style, but i just finished The Unlikelies and it was sooo good if you like fictional romance / friendship / mystery (it's centered around teenagers though so it might not be too appealing to older audiences) love you shiv ♡︎
oh I'm so so glad! I love asmr videos that are like 'interesting' you know? Not just triggers, etc (although sometimes I just want to zone out to some tapping, etc 💅) thanks for watching Lorie! 💗
Do more top 10's! I loved this one. I love reading fiction and history myself. But either way, make top 10 of things like maybe tops in book genres, like top 10 fiction. Or movies, series, maybe episodes of series, series and or movies you watched as a child (get those memories flowing), games (digital or physical), favourite food etc. Just all sort of things and discuss it like this video. So relaxing and satisfying. And again great video Shivi!! 👌🏻😘
Shivi, You are beautiful! You really are my friend. My face has tears streaming down. Tears of gratitude and love from you. That's how special you are to me. 😊🥰🤗Another Year with you is even more special. Love you Shivi.
My favourite book from the year that shall not be named was Nala’s World by Dean Nicholson. This book is a non-fiction book but when you read it, it comes across as though it could be fiction. It’s about how Dean travels around the world and meets a cat (Nala) and takes her along his journey with her, his story blew up when Dodo did a piece about him that now has millions of views. His tag is 1bike1word and that’s the @ for his RU-vid and Instagram, I won’t say anymore so I don’t spoil it but I would highly recommend it 📚 📖
Awww, you're too cute! ☺️ I need to try it again, I think ages ago I tried the audiobook and couldn't get into it so I think I need to pick up a physical book! 📚 💕 ✨
All those books sound really interesting but I have like 20 books both from Christmas gifts and that I bought that I still have to read, so I’ll just save those for later 😁 I loved this video, anyways! My fav book from last year (and tbh, it may be one of my favs ever!) is One Hundred Years Of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, such a masterpiece. The stylistic architecture, the concept, the way the author writes and the setting are all so incredible. It was like a huge fever dream and I love that kind of novels. Plus I like how he wrote it with the idea of “a book where everything happens”. It’s such a cool concept. Also, as an aspiring writer it was very inspiring, in some way it helped me give a shape to ideas I had for ages. Magical realism in general is such an inspiring artistic current.
haha don't worry I feel you! I've been trying to keep my goodreads To Read list under 50 but I keep seeing so many good ones! Oh I've definitely heard of that one, I'll look into it - you've described it so beautifully! 📚 💕 ✨
@@CallMeQuietASMR some chapters may be boring and the story can be quite intricate and confusing but overall it’s a great experience-can be life changing, so I’d strongly suggest you read it if you want and you have the time :)
I had the book named The 80/20 principle, right by my side when you were talking bout the concept. It's a useful concept indeed. Loved this ASMR. Glad that I found your channel.
I just LOVE it when people recommend books to me, so I can keep on expanding my: What to read next list and never "not have something to read". In school, our teacher tell us to "challenge" ourselves to read higher level books which is not wrong, but if you read for passion, you should not judge the book by its level of vocabulary, in fact, many of my favourite books are not the most challenging to read (just wanted to put that common stereotype out there). I just finished "Martian", now I am currently reading the book "Everyday", both are amazing books if you enjoy Sci-fi and Romance!
I can’t ever imagine not having something to read! I’m so baffled when people tell me there’s nothing they want to read 😱 Oooh I think I’ve heard of Martian! Will look into it! And yes I agree, books are works of art- not everyone will enjoy each one but there is something for everyone! Xx
oh i loooove an absolutely remarkable thing! i reread it last year before the sequel (a beautifully foolish endeavor) came out. if you haven't read it yet i def recommend it 😭 it's told from different character's perspectives
I just wanted to say I feel so much better since the last time I commented, and I really appreciated your concern, thank you for everything that you do, it always puts a smile on my face :)
I am so so glad to hear that, it hurts my heart to know you were struggling but I'm so happy that things are turning around for you - time heals everything! Sending you lots of love, always xxx
3 years ago I was overweight and now I’m at a completely healthy weight and I feel way more confident! (Although I feel like I’m still an introvert) Also diet is so important for your mood and energy 🥔 🥦
Weight and mental health is such a complex but interconnected issue! He discusses in his previous book about the connection between diet and mental health so I know it’s something I have to prioritise(easier said than done!). I hope that we as a society can move from thinking about weightloss for purely aesthetic reasons and more from a functional/health perspective
Love your vids so much, great video watching now!! Happy New Year! Let's hope haha. Love the title your fav books from the year that shall not be named haha, I know right? Looking as cute as ever!🌹👍🥰
@@CallMeQuietASMR Awee nothing at all, just being you! hehe you mean I'm yours? hehe ooh you can have me for free Shivi at anytime 🌹you're just a sweetheart, so nice, calming, caring and beautiful haha. 😍💓You make me relax and feel better, I'd kill to have a GF like you lol.
Awww I’m sorry! When I went back and edited it I kind of realised that so Noted! But I hope to do more book videos this year and I will make up for it I promise! 🤞💗✨
I used to be a big reader then I needed to do more reading for school and it ruined it so I stopped reading and then my adhd and dyslexia both got really bad and now it takes me (unless I *really* get into it) 20 minutes to read 15 small pages when before I could do closer to 40+ pages in 20 minutes, its sad but its something I don't see changing in the near future
Try listening to audiobooks whilst psychically reading along and gradually increasing the speed of the audiobook over time. It really helped me! As your brain gets used to taking in and following words super fast 💗
awww don't worry too much about it lovely, you're too hard on yourself! I truly believe that you will find a way to enjoy reading more(including reading faster if that's what you truly want!) - maybe now isn't that time and that's totally ok! Love you! xx
Aww I’m glad you liked it! I really tried hard to share some useful info, my words didn’t all come out perfectly but I hope you found some interesting reads!
Plz do a makeup get ready with me , I’m a makeup artist and I just want to say I’m loving how soft and glowing it looks !😍😍 sorry I commented twice but I was just watching this like wooow her makeup tho lmaoo !!!
I used to be a loyal goodreads user, but tried the storygraph website and enjoy it so much better! I’m trying to separate myself from Jeff Bezos (who is connected to Goodreads) and the storygraph is the perfect alternative :)
honestly I shocked myself, I don't think I'm a fast reader by any means, I just had to cut out some social media time and replace with reading. Although ironically I have hardly read anything so far in 2021! 😅
It's only just starting to get better, trying to get rid of the last of the acne on my chin! But if I'm able to fully clear it I'll do a routine, got a few new products I'm testing out! xxx
Well I had a few compliments right up until Beauty Sick. I'll just say I like your videos and content instead. Eat to Live and Born to Run were two inspirational books for me. Oh and one book you didn't mention, but I often see on the shelf that interests me is The Subtle Art of Not Giving A F*ck.
As a guy I prefer the darker, heavier stuff like epic fantasy, so Brent Weeks, David Gemmell, or David Eddings or Robert Jordan, but for the ladies and a little class; The Scarlet Pimpernel by Baroness Orczy
