I love the thought that the work of reporters and editors from a century ago is available to read at the Library of Congress. So many words lost in the obscurity of modern electronic mass storage, just waiting for someone to click a link and look inside. Thanks for the wonderful video.
These are by far my favorite ASMR videos. I absolutely love your reading voice, and it’s a little nostalgic, like when the school librarian or a teacher would read a book on class. If you were interested in doing another old news reading, maybe finding some articles about the 1918 flu pandemic would be interesting, at a time like this 🤔
How interesting!! My grandpa was born in 1917 and although we are from Rio and local realities were so apart, it is nice to hear news from the time he was a boy 😄 Thanks for share! Your voice is really sweet and soft 💚
I found my new favorite genre of yours: old books, magnifying glass, anything really old, it is easy on the eyes, and the old items come from a slower-paced time, and thus the energy emmanates to add that extra touch of relaxing. hope you can do more. the color of the 'yellowed' pages also looks really pretty on the video screen!!! hugs.
Always excited to see a new video from you....thank you. So love your voice; it always calms me and I had a fall last night so feel a bit shaken up. This is just what I needed!!!! 😁
This is so good. Your soothing tone with the paper rustling, divine! 4am right now and I finally feel relaxed enough to sleep, Thank you for helping me kick my insomnia's butt 💜
I am watching this for the first time. I enjoy listening to articles and ads from the past and your commentary about them. The Hannibal Lecter comment was hilarious!
I’m very curious to know what you look like. We only ever see your hands and hear your voice. Don’t get me wrong, not complain. Your asmr voice is heaven sent! Just curious is all 😁
I have also been wondering this myself. Thoroughly love your videos since coming across them a while back. Would be nice to put a face to the awesome voice 🤗
I wonder too but I also respect that she doesn’t because I can understand that it’s probably for privacy. My son wants to do RU-vid videos and I’m so reluctant to allow that for that reason. He’s only five but he wants to open toys and do science kits and review games. I’m not ready to put my child out there like that!
This was such a great idea! So interesting. I'm definitely looking up some of those tonics and "remedies". How things have changed! Love the sound of that paper too!
Gee, I wish you could be convinced to continue on with the rest of this soft spoken reading. Hearing this hometown news from so many years ago is really fascinating. BTW, I’ve come to learn that many of the so-called remedies of that era were filled with toxic substances like arsenic and formaldehyde!! So much for iron pills that ‘cleanse’ the blood!😦
I so love your channel dear Amuse. Your voice gets more delicious with each video. Thank you for the effort and the energy you put into your content. You deserve so many more subscribers and likes. 🙏
I thought this was a very interesting one and I really hope you do more! I listen to you while I’m at work a lot (risky to listen to ASMR at work and try not to fall asleep, believe me I know, but your voice is the right level of relaxing so I save your videos for work). This one was hard to listen to at work though particularly because I was so interested in what you were reading, I couldn’t pay attention to work. Haha. I went to school near Altoona so I was excited to hear stories from the area. I live in Maryland north of Baltimore (near PA), though, and I’d love to hear old news from the area, if you’re taking requests! PS I keep trying to nail down where you’re from. I’ve always though mid/northwest US. Now I’m thinking PA. Hmmm...
History is my favorite and your my favorite and that means I’m gonna be asleep I wanna stay awake but I don’t see this happening. You have grown so much!! Keep up the fantastic work 🤩🥳😍
I’m going to have to check this website out, I love history! Every time I see a movie or read about back then, I always think how easy it would have been to commit a crime back then lol!! I have issues, I watch too much investigation discovery!!!
That bank robbery is where I'm from! I grew up off of Pennsylvania Ave. in Washington DC. Interesting to hear. Of course, the crime in DC nowadays is quite bad. Has been for years!!
I'm listening to this again and I just noticed the obituary you read about an "aged" respected man said he was only 53 and was a veteran of the Civil War. First of all, that's not aged! HAhaha! Secondly, I had to look up the years of that war. He wasn't even born until the year AFTER that war ended. Even if he were actually SIXTY three, he would have only been a child during the Civil War. Old timey journalism is hilarious!
