Hello there lovelies! So a lot of you requested me to do a video on how I do my makeup so here it is! Please be kind, It's taken me a lot of guts to show my bare face online. The comments will be held for review so be aware if you make an unkind comment it will just be deleted automatically. I want to show you that it's okay not to be perfect. We all have flaws and insecurities. It's what makes us human x

LMAO at all the men in the comments telling you "if you were my girlfriend, I'd tell you not to wear makeup", or saying that makeup is "a lie", or telling you that you are too beautiful to worry about wearing "all that makeup". First of all, guys, she didn't say she thinks she's ugly without makeup, just that she feels it is brave for a woman to appear online without makeup covering skin imperfections, and I agree with her. But it is true that everybody looks better wearing makeup, especially on camera. That's why men who appear on camera professionally also wear makeup. It is also true that women are generally expected to wear some amount of makeup in everyday life to look "put together". We are socialized to ignore imperfections in a man's face and to nitpick them on a woman's face. It takes a lot of guts to appear without makeup if you are someone who normally wears it. Secondly, I would guarantee that if most of the men making such comments had not seen this tutorial, they would have thought she was just wearing some eyeliner in most of her videos. When they say "you shouldn't wear all that makeup" they really just mean the obvious makeup, like winged liner or bright lipstick. Anything that ruins the illusion that she is naturally flawless at all times like some kind of superhuman. I don't want to speak for her, but I am cringing at so many comments telling her she "doesn't need" makeup. A woman can think she is beautiful naturally and still enjoy wearing makeup. Thinking that makeup makes you look "better" or that admitting it makes you feel prettier does not mean you hate your natural looks.

Sophie, you shouldn't be scared or afraid to put your natural face on RU-vid, because you're absolutely beautiful. No-one should be insecure about how they look. I really hate society has put such pressure on people to always look perfect. Anyways, you're a beautiful person. And I absolutely adore your channel! Always tingly, always sleep-inducing. It has helped me enormously, because I'm suffering from insomnia. Even now, it's 2.27 a.m. here in Belgium on a Wednesday night... Still, a lot of thanks for all your videos and keep it up!

I love how calming it is to watch someone else quietly doing their makeup. This was such a trigger for me when I was younger. The sound of brushes and dabbing and rummaging around in the makeup bag. I love this, so thank you. ❤

Your natural skin isn't as bad as you think, the redness you think you see around your eyes is actually more of a lovely rose color and your freckles are quite pretty. I hope you become more comfortable with your skin.

Used to love having my mother put makeup on me while she was putting on her own when I was a kid. Somehow, those sorts of nostalgia connections make the ASMR effect that much more potent...

There seems to be a lot of comments calling makeup fake and people wondering why she would go through this. As a woman who has spent large periods of her life both wearing makeup everyday and not wearing any makeup, leaving the house, there is pressure on women to wear it. It can be considered unprofessional or not well groomed. Most people who do wear makeup see it as another layer of clothing almost, in the same way most would feel naked without a shirt of without pants on. Like Sophie mentioned, putting on makeup also can be relaxing and therapeutic, a form of self care, a moment just focusing on you in the morning. Please be aware that most women don’t put on makeup for men and do it for their own confidence.

I use that exact eyeliner! I’ve used it since I was about 17 (11 years) it has never let me down. I usually buy it from Boots or Tesco. Love the way you do your eyes :)

The camera makes your foundation look a little yellow because of white balance settings being set to auto most likely. If you set it manually before filming it'll probably focus faster aswell. (just from self experience not an expert)

Lovely! Thanks for the tips. You asked about your fringe and I think you would be fine pushing it aside as you like it. Your face shape is a bit like Jenna Coleman so if you google her hairstyles she mostly does a hair part in the middle or sweep to the side. And your eyebrows are more expressive than hers so you can really work that look. Don't worry about how the fans feel - they will love you as you change and grow. xoxo

Just gonna add my couple pennies in an overlong paragraph - you obviously have a lot of admirers saying how good you look without makeup, maybe some to the point of fawning a bit overmuch, but I hope that doesn't diminish their good intent. From my standpoint, you look just fine without and, while no one can tell you how to feel about yourself in any given situation and so change your opinion as though a switch has been flipped (we are our own worst critics, and all that, afterall), I'd venture to say as good without as with, and you have nothing to feel insecure about. Different, yes, but a good different. Thankfully, most of us are not perfectionists, casting our judgmental gaze in the direction of others. Besides, I find your "rediculous red eyes" my favorite feature of yours.
