the owner wants to Reinforce the sole and he doesn't want the sole Yellowing restore out-sole masking tapes are just performance. and I only used paint for Out-sole and rubber. this paint is for professionals. Please don't worry.
Neat restoration, man! DAMN! For everyone that doesn't know, restoration depends on the owner's/client's request(s), hence, he placed a new one on the soles. Freakin' tight man!
Naa my dude. my brother customs shoes and he doesn’t even repair them this way. This was just sloppy, my opinion. He used water on paint and certain paints like on thre soles should of been flat not shinny.
I saw the camera in the washer scene for the first time after rewatching the movie Titanic... Now THAT stressed me. I thought he was using a waterproof go pro maybe?
What a beautiful job! I'm sorry everyone is giving you such a hard time over the sole in the comments. I think that is unfair of everyone considering as a viewer we have limited information on the specifics of what the actual task at hand is. I bet your client is extremely happy with what you did. Great job!
Everyone seems to forget that, regardless of personal preference on the part of the craftsman, one has to do what the client wants and/or prefers! This also could've been influenced by money---its possible the client couldn't afford some of the services this person provides (new replacement sole, etc.!) I totally agree that this would've been better executed had a replacement sole been used, if the UV method had been used to decrease yellowing, etc., but they're not my shoes, just my opinions had these been mine! Also, if I were gonna go through all the trouble to have someone do all that, I'd just buy a brand new pair, but that's just me! It's also possible the client can't afford another pair, but could afford these services to restore them (think of a kid who saves their hard earned money for a pair of these, something along those lines!) I think the effort was awesome & says nothing about the work of the craftsman, but more about what the client probably wanted/could afford, meaning this isn't a failure, just another example of shoe repair for a number of varying clients!!😜
Everytime I watch vetiver’s video, there’s always ppl complaining about the sole replacement. What’s up with the sole? I mean, you never know if the owner wanted it replaced. Why complaining so much 🤷♀️ I just don’t get it
i think its for “hype shoes” specifically, people care about the “purity”/resale value of a shoe with these types instead of actually wearability/practicality
Everyone’s got an opinion. Mine is that this was, as usual, a top notch restoration on a pair of kicks with a million intricate details. As I was reading, these were restored to the owners specifications, and that is the only opinion that really matters. Fantastic work, as always!
I'm pretty sure it's from the sacrilege of putting vibram soles over the Jordan 5's outsole. You can argue about the utility virtues of doing so, but it's still incredibly controversial.
@@paulandreotti1639 i personally do HATE these vibram soles on almost everything he does, they always disrupt cohesion of the shoes. The rest is fine, it would be so much better without the "vibram" branding
I'm waiting on someone who is a shoe enthusiast (I.e. Collector) to freak in the comments about the soles being sanded and replaced. Fab job though! Love the videos!
I noticed a lot of people hating so I just feel the need to say The reason people dislike this restoration is because from a sneaker heads perspective he didn’t “ice” out the soles. He put the vibram soles over the existing ones. He didn’t paint the shoe properly with a light coat of primer, then paint the shoe with the proper color, and then finish off the paint work with a matte or glossy spray to make the paint look better and to also protect it in the future. He didn’t change out the shoelaces with new ones. He also didn’t unyellow the foam patches in the middle of the shoes , which could’ve been unyellowed using the same method as “icing” out the soles or simply by applying a thin watered down off white paint IM NOT HATING OR ANYTHING, I like this restoration I’m just answering as to why people dislike it and it’s mainly the sneaker heads and shoe enthusiasts
Hello VeTiVeR, You have a very skilled hand (obviously); that's always been true! I often find myself disagreeing with some of your methods, however. On this pair, I wish you woulda ice-out the sole or done a sole swap, even. Perhaps these are decisions influenced by the client; anyway, great work!
🤨🤔🤨🤔🤨🤔... YES, YOU THE MAN !!! 👊👍🙌💥 AWESOME... he has lots of patients at steadyhand I can't even draw a straight line you're a badass. Unlike other Jordan Restorations I have seen where they take parts and pieces from brand new Jordans to replace on the old Jordans you did this yourself w/ skillz.... 100% KUDOS...
I have a pair of classic Adidas Originals that could really do with getting this treatment, I can’t find them anywhere online or even a similar looking pair. Whats the cost of having them renewed like this? London, UK
I'm sorry if the customer asked for that sole theres something wrong with them lol. It's just horrible. Should of just kept the original sole and iced out the sole...
Everyone, including myself, should keep their opinions to themselves. I prefer videos where the comments are turned off. Then no one has to spend time reading comments, instead of watching the video.. MYOB, my parents used to tell me. I guess most peoples parents forgot to teach that to their children.
The soles of the shoes are neatly attached, as expected, it seems difficult to dye them in the middle, so I enjoyed it without knowing the time went by.
Which paint did you use for painting the midsole? I'm asking for myself cause some of my Jordans need a midsole repaint and whatever i do, the paint starts to crack after a few times of wearing
You should've left the sole as the way they were, it wasn't even brutally damage to the point while it needs to be replaced. The rest are fine, but regarding the soles the original one were by far better, sorry to say this, but the extra one look so cheap and ugly.
@@kylejohnson2738 the tongue of the shoe is way too short, the Jordan 5 has a high tongue on them. The Jumpman on the rear rear is all wrong and so is the size tag
Maybe its just my opinion but i feel like you could have added a shoe tree at the end to get rid of the creases and put that shape in the shoe.. Other than that great video vetivar
