Hello ! I know a few of you have asked to do an anxious POV-so here you go ! I highly recommend meeting your provider first-before you go in for an exam-so that you are a lot more comfortable ! Always ask questions--and remember-YOU are in control of the exam ! Consent is SO IMPORTANT!

You always have the right to revoke or withhold consent, and if a medical professional does not respect that, report them and find someone who will. It’s your body. You’re in charge.

i have a *severe* phobia of going to the gynecologist, but it turns out that i might have endometriosis and i have to go to get some sort of examination. i have an even *worse* fear of getting an exam (to the point of having blackout panic attacks just from talking about getting one) so im hoping that this will help me to calm down a little

I have medical trauma + fear, and while my reactions aren't as severe, i really get where you're coming from. I hope you can feel more comfortable and I hope your exam, if you can take one, goes really well for you

Same. To the point I’ve been putting it off for years now and get severe anxiety if other doctors ask about it. I can’t even call to make an appointment. I tried last summer and started sweating and panicking. Just wanted to offer a voice of understanding and say I hear you. Not sure what we can do to overcome it or even make it less horrible. My solution for now is to just put it off.

i was forced into a pap smear at 14 and i bawled during the entire process, i wasn't given any form of information besides them gaslighting me and telling me it wouldn't hurt. they laughed at me as well, i explained that what i was feeling didn't feel right, and she told me i was fine and to "stop exaggerating." i hope that other people get to have this kind of experience because i haven't had one since then, due to lack of trust.

I am very sorry that happened to you that was totally unacceptable behavior. I am using my brother’s Google account that is why I have a male name, but I am actually a female. I remember I had my first pelvic exam when I was 13, because my mom was afraid I might be pregnant. When your a female and still have your hymen ring it is very painful to have an OBGyn exam, especially a Pap smear. I can’t believe those idiots laughed at you. That was cruel. I would report them to the AMA.

@@curtisdalrymple42 I definitely agree! I guess it is a sort of "feminist" idea behind this, that the people working in this medical field don´t actually believe that virginity has a physical dimension. And if there is no hymen all adult women can be equally treated. Do you see what I mean?

@@Mayor-q6b I’m a medical assistant in the US. When working for a male doctor it is a rule that an assistant has to accompany him during the exam. I’ve accompanied hundreds of paps/pelvic exams. I’m surprised you haven’t.

@@courtneylockwood3425 it’s only female practitioners that do that paps at my practice. Even then, I’m a male and they wouldn’t have me accompany. I think it would be skittle odd, but to each their own.

This is relaxing. I had my pap test 10 days ago and the results are normal! Praise the Lord! Use this comment as an "I got my pap test" button! Y'all ladies can do it! It's not the best feeling, but it definitely isn't awful!

Putting it off until I have no choice. So degrading, embarrassing, and uncomfortable. As with most procedures women have to endure. Skipping the mammogram too.

I have to go to the OBGYN sometime soon bc I may have PCOS & I’m very scared of getting one of (in my personal opinion) the worst symptom of PCOS…infertility. These videos helped me get an understand of what everything is & just in case a doctor is saying something untruthful I can defend myself. (It’s also sad that a 16 year old has to worry about malpractice)

These kind of videos are very nice because I'm afraid of getting a check just because of the speculum haha but isn't it in the contrary? It must be uncomfortable if you never had sexual intercourse, not if you did? I wanted to know more about that!

It’s definitely uncomfortable regardless! But for anyone who has never had anything in the v*gina it can be more on the side of painful - really just depends on the person for sure !

I'm still a virgin, and it hurt for me. It doesn't apply to everyone though. It really isn't that bad. The speculum just hurt a bit. I didn't even bleed for this one though!

The speculum is a weird feeling because it is in there holding you open for the doctor to check inside. It should not be excruciating; for a virgin it probably will hurt a little but the provider should be gentle and use lube

This is all I wanted from my provider was to make some small talk. Ask me about my life, my job, something to get my mind off of what is actually happening. Explain what you are doing as you are doing it. I think I am going to look for a new provider. Her and I just aren’t clicking and she has been kinda pushy about things.

I have admittedly not gone back to my OBGYN after I was diagnosed with PCOS and pretty much told my chances of having more children was over. I've never felt comfortable in office with an OBGYN. Your videos are helping me to get over that anxiety and encouraging me to find a new OBGYN.

You need to go it’s so important that you do. I just got diagnosed with PCOS yesterday and my endometrial lining is 16mm thick it’s only supposed to be around 4. Had I went I could’ve avoided having surgery in a couple days. Please go!!!!

I really like that "real" videos. The have something. I don't understand videos like tapping on something, i mean not realistic ones, just because i don't see purpose why someone do it. I know that is because of normal ASMR, but i don't like videos, when people do something what have no reason during role play, or is done just for stimulating sounds, always skip that ones.
