For those who don’t know, I don’t like France cuz of their A o Consent laws, French philosophies, movies, art, fashion industry normalizing relationships between children and adults or straight up traffic, safe haven for creeps like Roman, etc. etc. Their government and wealthy people are just… weird… weird… and what makes it super weird is they, the higher ups, think they’re better than every one else cuz they’re public about being WEIRD like no A o Consent weird. Edit: their southern coast and eastern border is gorgeous though and I love their little Catholic old ladies that just tend to their houses (but that’s an international thing for me) 🌸
It's funny you say that, because in high school we did sort of a very short exchange program in France, and the student I stayed with had a best friend whose dad came over to help with something, and he kept hitting on me, which really weirded me out, even more so because the student I stayed with seemed to think this was perfectly normal and funny behavior. Like 'haha, isn't this 40 year old fun and flirtatious'. There were further incidents on my trip similar to this, just a really weird vibe...granted this was in 2007, don't know if things have changed at all since.
as a french person, totally agree, the government’s shit, I hate the fact that the criminals are always protected and the victims are always to blame, you don’t feel safe cause even the police can kill you without any explanation and will get away with it
You're making a generalisation about a country for the elites that are corrupted, as a french person, i don't think being a pedo is cool. Would you like to be treated like that because one guy did act so badly ? I mean, if i do some research about the country that you are from, i bet i can find a monster and then say that you are a monster too. It's not cool to do that
When she mentioned that when you’re in east Florida and you look out to the ocean you’re looking directly at Portugal, that made me smile. I live in south east Florida and my best friend moved to Porto Portugal in February and we’re always saying that when we’re at the beach at the same time we’re looking at each other and it makes me cry
@@taperhyperion4441 i figured I wasn’t looking at Portugal but we’re still going to have our moment of thinking we’re looking at eachother. I honestly thought I was looking at Spain
@taperhyperion4441 Wouldnt it depend on your angle and location? Life yeah if uour looking directly east from the southern tip you'll see morroco but if your looking northeast and or at a beach that faces north east you'll be looking at portugal?
@@plugmanjohnson7456 I had a look at Google Earth, there are parts of the Florida coastline where if you look perpendicular to the coast you will be looking in the direction of Portugal. Some other states have those as well (most notably North Carolina), but it's much more common in Florida.
1. There's a difference between Slovenia and Slovakia(formerly part of Czechoslovakia). 2. @@randomdude6940 I hate that he's greek! 😂😂 Just kidding I think Aristotle has made great advancements in philosophy, unbelievably clever fella, but the reduction of God's (spirit) role in his metaphysics and his stray from Plato's idealism may have caused much of the western troubles by taking the first steps into the path of over-rational scientific materialism... If that makes sense. Also, his books are usually a pain in the ass to read 😂😂😂
Hi Angelica, Greek here:) north Macedonia actually is a country in and of itself, and south Macedonia is not another name for the entirety of the country of Greece. Greece is split into seven different geographic regions (think of it like the states but they don’t completely operate separately, like the laws all apply the same everywhere) and Macedonia is one of them (it’s actually the one I’m living as well!) so Macedonia as a geographic region is right below the country of north Macedonia, but it’s not really a separate thing, if that makes sense.
"Northern Ireland is catholic, southern Ireland is protestant" "ABBA is Norwegian" "Theres Kosovo" Angelica really going all out on starting WW3 with this one
@@ciaranjamiesonfamily-frien5144 The results of the 2021 Northern Ireland census have been released and they show that 42.3% of the population identify as Catholic and 37.3% as Protestant or other Christian.
It's actually not weird at all that your friend claims she's czechoslovakian- tons of people born in Czechoslovakia refer to themselves as czechoslovakian because they were born into that country (it divided in 1993). :) Oh and also; someone is czech, not czechian, and slovak- not slovenian. You confused Slovenia and Slovakia quite a few times.😅
I genuinely thought Slovakia and Slovenia were the same thing until now😭I used to try and correct ppl abt that and now I’m finding out I was in the wrong all this time I’m so embarrassed
the mentions of malta, even small, make me so happy :,) considering my family is from there,, i always get so excited seeing it mentioned anywhere bc it rarely ever is ♡
So with Ireland, the South is the Republic of Ireland and it is an independent nation. Northern Ireland is still part of the UK. The reason for the partition of the Island is that there was a greater proportion of Protestants (who were the over all minority) in the North East of the Island. Before the Irish war of independence the Protestant minority were the ruling class on the Island and for centuries had discriminated against Catholics. They opposed Irish independence for economic reasons but also because they feared being discriminated against if the Catholic majority took power. After the island was partitioned, Northern Ireland became a country within the UK with a protestant majority. They continued to discriminate against and disenfranchise Catholics. This gave rise to a Catholic civil rights movement in the 1960's inspired by Martin Luther King's activism. The government's violent response to the Civil Rights marches and demonstrations, along with attacks on Catholic neighbourhoods by Protestant paramilitary groups lead to a resurgence of the IRA. This in turn kicked off a 40 year period of tit for tat murders and terrorist attacks between Catholic and Protestant paramilitary groups known as the troubles.

being Italian your bit about France is so relatable, such a beautiful country...people-wise I won't express myself ( even though I do believe most Europeans would agree)
Wtf...don't you feel dumb insulting 66 million people, as if you knew the majority of them and could express an opinion that be anything else than garbage phantasm ? Cuz I don't mean to offend you but do any intelligent people think that way ? Don't think so. But if you want to play that game... at least France wasn't the Austrian painter ally during WW2...how does it feel to be the target of a senseless brainless comparison ? Anyway, I'm sure most Italian (and European) citizen are great people :)
Indeed, there is a lot of contention about Macedonia! The historical kingdom of Macedon (of Alexander The Great fame) was located roughly in regions now part of northern Greece and North Macedonia. Despite the fact that the Greek city states were conquered by Macedon, modern Greeks proudly lay claim to the legacy of Alexander and his kingdom, while people who do not consider themselves "Greek" and yet live in lands of historical Macedon too have their own connections...hence the issue! The many modern (think the past couple of centuries) contentions in the Balkan region, often arising from powerful European nations imposing state borders in multi-ethnic regions in the period since the end of WWI, are why the term Balkanization came into being. P.S. The conquering kingdom of Macedon was what became the "empire, not "Greece" itself. The individual city states of Greece had a notion of shared civilization but otherwise were quite separate (until conquered, of course!).
@@gkreinYep! And she’s valid for saying that. I lived in France for half of my life. As someone who was a young girl in France, I will not bring my future kids to France until they are above 18. It is that bad there.

Ha, brilliant. I'm glad you love Ireland. Just don't say the south is Protestant and the north Catholic, definitely nope. You should do some research on the troubles in Northern Ireland (my childhood in the 90s) and how the UK works. It would definitely something you would be interested in and there are some decent documentaries on both topics, especially the six counties. I could see you becoming, um, let's just say passionate about that subject. Spain is very beautiful, I especially love northern Spain around Asturias and the Camino route to Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. If I didn't know better just from looking at you at first glance I would say you were Spanish yourself. You look very much like many Spanish women I know. Italy is gorgeous as well. You could spend a lifetime absorbing the art and history there and still not see everything it has to offer. As for the French, yeah. It can be a very odd place though rural France and places like Monet's garden in Giverny are very beautiful. In their defence that attitude and moral corruption comes more from Paris and their urban elite class, much like a lot of bad things with the UK comes from London. The working class and rural people have more common sense. I also respect their belligerent attitude towards authority and their own government as was seen recently with the protests against the neo-liberal "pension reforms". You should set off on a Grand Tour some time, see the world.
@@michaelterrell5061 The Republic is majority Catholic and the North was mixed with a declining Protestant majority. The real conflict was between Irish Nationalism/Republicanism (those who wanted NI to join the Republic and create a united Ireland) and Unionism/Loyalism (those who wanted NI to remain part of the UK and loyal to the crown). It mostly split along religious lines with Nationalists/Republicans being Catholic and Unionists/Loyalists being Protestant, hence sectarianism. What started the troubles was really the ethnic, political and economic discrimination Catholics faced in NI as it was Protestant/Unionist controlled. There were civil rights marches (partly inspired by MLK in the US and that my grandparents took part in), a violent establishment Unionist and UK government reaction, the reaction to the reaction followed by a descent into 30 years of chaos. It can be hard to explain to people not from here. All this vastly oversimplifies a complex situation. It's may be useful to study and compare to social situations of civil conflicts like that building in the US today. I still know little about the other half of the small town I live in and always found it strange when first visiting other countries where towns weren't divided and you could safely go anywhere.

Regarding the northern countries toothpaste tubes I can tell you that even in the most southern parts of Sweden you still get cheese in tubes (you also have regular cheese you can buy of course). There's also caviar that comes in tubes that isn't the same as regular caviar. It's good though. I don't know anything about whale blubber though, that might be an icelandic thing. Also, I think it goes without saying but there are also no polar bears in Scandinavia :p

@@franovak2654 It's better to divide Europe in 2 parts: East and West. The West (an extension of which is the US itself) is the heir of Latin Catholic Europe. The East is the Greek influenced Orthodox part. It's a division that originated in the Roman empire, where the West spoke Latin and the East Greek, and accentuated in the Middle Ages due to the religious difference that developed.
