Bonjour Melange :) Since I'm watching your videos I've been wondering what your job would be, if it is not too personnal to share :) Grand merci pour tes vidéos, elles sont géniales !
Love your videos! Question: Will you be doing more of the bullet journal video's? (You inspired me to create my own so I've been filling out pages each month while watching your videos.) Hoping for more, they are so relaxing and helpful. 🙂
I was inter-railing in 1988, and went to Venice from Nice. Arrived in the morning, hated the sheer tourism of the place so left in the evening and took a train to Vienna. Stayed a week. I was blown away by how approachable and friendly the Viennese were. So willing to help. I will never forget that. I will return!
That is so surprising - the Viennese have a reputation of being horrible and unfriendly! I'm very glad you ran into some nice people haha. And I think you'd love another visit, the city has changed so much since then.
Your videos are so consistently informative, thoughtful, and just plain lovely. They have become a bedtime ritual for me, and I hope you continue to make them as long as I continue to need sleep. Thank you!
My parents and grandma are in Vienna right now for vacation. I'm in the U.S., in a city I hate, just lost my job, miserable, been trying to move to Europe for a year with no luck. I'm so depressed and I have insomnia. Your videos help. ❤
My first ever RU-vid comment. This video was perfect timing for a 4 day break in Vienna last week. Loved the city and already planning another trip back. Big fan of all your videos. Thank you :-)
I love the way you speak in your videos, the pauses aren’t too long and you always seem to know exactly when and what to say! I love it so much because sometimes with other people I notice awkward pauses and such that distract me. Thank you for another great video :)
Mishkas little chirps at the end. 😂 What a happy little cat she must be. I love seeing cats internationally. Because what they all look the same some of them are not very similar but the behavior is very similar and of course the many different ways that people care for cats etc. I especially love cultural references to cats because historically cats have been around for a very long time for humans. And of course they domesticated themselves so knowing that historically humans have always had a sort of obsession about them just tickles me
I like how you think of cats in different places, cause there must be so many cats out there that we haven’t met! I love kitties and it’s cool to think of how they are different and similar in so many ways no matter where they are :)
There's a little birdy inside this cat haha. I love that! I'm always wondering if cats maybe have nationalities too? Do they speak a little differently with humans in other places? Do they get it when we speak other languages or when they're moved to a different country? Like friends of mine adopted two shelter cats from abroad and I'm always wondering whether they're like, wow humans meow so weirdly here...
I have the impression that she really likes the business of filming day - sometimes it's too much and she wanders off to sleep, but mostly, she comes over and inspects everything.
Servus Melange, I am heading to Vienna in April for a study abroad program! What great timing! I am a history student so I am taking German language classes to improve my German and hopefully look at old documents at the Austrian State Archives! Thank you for all your great content.
Perfect, hope you'll have a great time!! And a little warning upfront, Austrian German can be very different from the Standard German that's taught in classes (though especially younger people in Vienna should be easy to understand these days). People are very happy to switch to English, though, so either way, you'll definitely be able to make yourself understood :)
Aww your kitty is so cute. Loved the purring throughout the video. I find that sound relaxing so I loved this video. Glad to stumble on your channel. Happy and healthy new Year to you and your furry friend 😸😸
I need to rewatch this at a point when I'm less sleepy, I fell asleep somewhere at the explanation of trains and tickets already. 😁 But since Vienna is on the list of places to visit, it should come in handy - and thank you. 🙂
@@MelangeASMR It's not. It's just that there are a lot of interesting places to visit in my own country, too, and a lot of other things keep coming up when it begins to fit into the plans. Like a global pandemic, for example. 🙄 We originally figured we'd need to have more time for it to do it justice when we visited (I already was in Vienna once, actually, many years ago, but we just had time between trains and only saw a botanical garden). But recently we thought "you know what, it's not that far away, we can always go there again." 😁 So we were thinking maybe a day trip this autumn, when more outdoorsy trips are no longer appealing and cafés are!
@@MelangeASMR P.S. It was my first ever trip abroad - we were actually staying in Lienz and visited Salzburg, so yeah, Vienna was just a stop on the way and we did not really have time for anything else but the botanical garden (next to Hauptbahnhof, I've now determined). Which however was fabulous and I still think of it now and then many many years later, highly recommended to other visitors to Vienna if botanical gardens are at all your thing. :-)
(Sorry for this really late reply; I saw the email notification but I'm struggling a bit with keeping up lately...) Yeah, the pandemic was a bit of a bummer in that regard 😅 But a trip in autumn is a great idea! Summer isn't fun in a city, but September/October is usually still warm and sunny and you can actually go and enjoy yourself without dissolving into a puddle of sweat lol. I like the botanical garden too. A couple of years ago, I often went for walks there and in the park of the Belvedere which is right next to it, so definitely an area worth visiting.
Reminds me of when I visited Vienna in the summer of 2019 (I think it was? Maybe 2018?)... What a wonderful city! I fell in love with it immediately. Hoping I can find a job there some day! 😅
I'm so happy for you for achieving this milestone! You've absolutely deserved it. I'm sending you a big warm hug, and lots of love to you and Miška (I'm from Slovenija😊). Take a good care of yourself 💞❤️
My cat is like yours but she is not that cozy and kind with me hahahahaha She reacts like a little demon with me, she is half wild lol But I feel she loves me at her way. I had two gingers who loved me the way Mishka loves you. My little angel with claws is called Mischi
We’ve decided to do our rescheduled 2020 vienna trip in 2025, when my daughter graduates high school. I hope all of this information is still relevant then, because I will probably watch it many many times before we go!
The whole time I stayed in Leipzig, we bought a ticket from the machine that our friend told us to buy (she was studying there and was fluent in German so we assumed she knew what she was doing). Our next to last day, we get stopped on the tram and we had been using the wrong tickets all along (I think it's split in zones and we only had a ticket for zone a but we were going to zone b, something like that). We were not fluent enough in German so we were like.... Entschuldigen Sie, English? Canada? and his face lit up, 'Canadia!' he yelled and then let us go
Thank you!! Venice is on my list of topics. I was hoping to visit it this winter, so I delayed it a bit, but I might have to look for maps locally lol.
Ah, I did leave that part out haha, but you can visit the Ottakringer Brewery: www.ottakringerbrauerei.at/en/ottakringer-erlebniswelt/guided-tours/ And I'm not seeing much right now in terms of black metal shows, but you can always try Viper Room (Landstraßer Hauptstraße), Escape Metalcorner (Neustiftgasse) or Arena (which is an alternative venue at an old slaughterhouse; great location and you can also just go there to have some beers, especially when it's warm enough to sit outside). If you're looking to get vinyls, try Totem Records in Zollergasse (though fair warning, it's been closed like 50 % of the times I tried to go there lol).
I just realised that I rode the S-Bahn from the airport without an extension ticket lol I just bought a 24 hour pass, glad I was not controlled for those few stations.
What kind of job do you have? (I'm guessing you might be a teacher, because you are so good researching a wide range of topics and are so good at explaining them in an interesting and engaging way) How did you get to the idea of starting an ASMR youtube channel?
Is anyþing left of þe old city walls or nearby old forts? If I were to go to Vienna I'd be interested in looking at local information regarding þe ottoman siege of þe city in 1683.
Unfortunately not. You could visit the Heeresgeschichtliche Museum, apparently they have a large exhibition on that topic, plus plenty of original objects. I've never been, though, so I can't vouch for that info.
@@MelangeASMR Þanks for taking þe time to respond. It's a shame þat noþing remains of þe walls, but if I ever manage to get þere I'll take a look at þe Heeresgeschichtliche.
