These are the best luk chups I have ever seen… the attention to detail is insane. I can’t wait to visit Thailand again so I can hunt for these in the markets. If you know the process of making luk chups, it is a crazy tedious process and I have so much respect for the people who make it from scratch

we have something very similar in italy. it’s called “frutta martorana.” instead of mung bean, we use marzipan and almond paste. textures are almost the same!

I’m not a big fan of the taste tho lol I like mung bean but I don’t like them for some reason. i used to make myself try it all the time bc they look so good but every time I’m like nope not for me.

They're made of Mung Bean and a thin gelatin coat. I assume food safe dyes are used to paint the colors and details.

This thing is actually quite easy to make if you are actually skilled especially since it doesn't really require too many ingredients but the process of making it is very tedious especially the part where you have to soak the beans overnight to split it and then you also have to stir the beans continuously (the mixture will bubble up if you stop) while it is heated to soften it. And, you really need to be skilled to shape the beans into various shapes and paint it. Wish the making process could be made easier so that I can enjoy it often, miss the taste of this luk chup, it's a very good dessert if you're craving for something sweet. ☺

@@FANI-NI Haha 😂 but that's just the thing about Southeast Asian dessert, the recipe is really simple and you can still be able to make it on the first try yet it still requires a lot of practise to master the making of it. Tried making it before but it took hours before I got to eat it. 😭

@@wasanreyad8516 Not sure if you can add flavouring but I think you can since one of the lukchup she ate was mocha matcha flavour too. But if you don't add any flavour, they all will just taste the same regardless of the shapes 😅, it tasted like roasted and mushy mung beans (skinless green beans) with thin layers of agar/jelly.

also in Italy we have something similar, it is called Martorana fruit, typical of Sicily, but made with almond flour and honey, there is also the variant with marzipan.😊😊
