one of the best feeling i think, watching your planted field dancing at wind, or bees working hard ,waiting orchard to grown , eating own fruit and vegetables ,joy of life.
Indeed. Farming, ranching, and agriculture all teach you so MANY different things when you grow up with them. Country folk have a far more rounded education than those silly city folk.
but in another way. That oil in the video is a very old methode. And actually its not for human consuming. Its called Lampanat oil. Ok that oil will not demage your health. But also it has no good taste and its not supporting your Immunesystem. It has nothing to do with the real " Olive oil extra vergine" !
This is not how commercial olive oil is produced. What you see here is the finest olive oil being made in a very old fashion way. Most olive oil is mass produced at the cost of quality.
This is so poetic, and this is the ancient method ,but true extra virgin olive oil must be made differently That oil you see on video is good for burn in the oil lamp, not good for consuption.
@@birrafresca7664 there is nothing wrong with that oil. Straight from tree to press, 100 times better quality than the commercial olive oil on the shelve in the supermarkets.
@@arra3410 if you look closely to the olive, the don't make that oil only with olive on the tree but also from the olive from the ground. In level of acidity that oil is gonna poisoning you. Make a good oil is not only take a olive and Squeeze that. You can see clearly at the end of the video when they show The final product, it Is a light yellow/transparent color, that it mean that olive oil is not good for consuption and most important, that olive oil has lost all the right healty property. From an olive oil producer from Italy, with love.
❤ Much love and respect for this hard-working woman..Merely suggesting not criticizing, if she spread netting or burlap mat over the ground before letting the olives fall, so they can be quickly gathered up instead of crawling around and picking them all over again
No. They do it to survive. Why do you people think you’re at the centre of everything people do? 95% of people do what they do so they can survive. Truth is they couldn’t care less about you.
I once tried my hand at making olive oil from some of the numerous olive trees around Tucson, AZ. 3-4KG worth of processed olives and many hours of work later I had about 50ml of oil and a LOT of appreciation for olive oil producers.
Traditional farmers are smart enough to lay out a big cloth underneath the olive trees. So they do not have to pick every single olive up from the soil ...
You can use a harvest net instead of collect From floor it again. İ'm working in an olive coperative so we sell harvest net and anything else for working easy
Fascinating, on the other hand this shows why modern industrial food processing makes things affordable. If we still depended on this labor intensive method olive oil would not be affordable to the average person.
On the other hand modern food processing as you called it is feeding us unhealthy synthetic toxic chemical shit And is literally the basis of the sinister basis of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries
We get Olive Oil fresh from Overseas every year and cost us 200$ for about 4 gallon metal container. Dark green in color and taste very nice with fresh bread.
Please dont understand me wrong. This is the kind of old traditional producing with big unhygiene mill-Stones all over the meditarrene countries. Its not the way of modern, healthy and high quality production of Olive oil extra vergine.
imagine they would put big cotton sheet under the tree first and just pick it up full of clean olives in one move instead of picking them up again one by one for hours from dust
@@Tehownilatorlive in an orchard town, we have special aprons you drop the fruit into as you pick and people to catch what we can’t store, not sure why you would drop it on the ground it causes bruising, and you have to take twice as long picking it up as you did dropping it there, would never pick more than two bags a day doing that, person above makes a good point a sheet or net would more than half the time
Amazing! When the world was a simpler and better IMO. Not this fast paced, bottom line is everything culture we live in now. Made by hand with Love and hard work. Bravo!!
@@baxiry. how do they use water for extracting the oil? I imagine that you only get a very small amount of oil like this. Most of it will stay in the olive flesh. The process i have heard from my grandfather envolved donkeys turning the mill and then using hand presses to squeeze out the oil. That is the process they used in northern morocco
so many mats of pressed olives. I am def sure there mind feels peace and happiness especially after they empty the last one of the day. Huh! absolute happiness
In the mountains of North Africa, the land of the Amazigh Berbers, for thousands of years, we produce the finest olive oil, which is pressed in the traditional way to produce high quality oil and a 100% organic product.
I remember my jordanian co worker in saudi Arabia when they went for a vacation in Jordan they brought back containers of olive oil and it's organic the color is greenish and it smells good like forest its really good
I just stumbled on your video and loved it. This brings back old memories from Tafraoute region, We used donkeys to run the mill back then. I wish I could go back. Much love.
Beautiful video. Thanks for sharing. Have to say that was quite time consuming and hard work but lovely in the end. That oil must be awesome Wish I could taste it. Enjoy!

Looking at the way olive oil is being made, I realize that the olive oil I've been using all this time is just garbage. I envy your wholesome way of life.
Beautiful work, I'd love to sample that oil! It's amazing how much effort goes into it, and I can't even imagine how much work went into figuring out all these techniques over millenia and countless generations everywhere around the Mediterranean. Thanks for sharing.
That stuff at the end she pours in the terra cotta bowl and eats is not that dark brown colored stuff she made. There are grades of Olive oil. The first press is the best/extra virgin, the second is standard Olive oil. Then they mix the mash with solvents and do a third press which is called Pomace.
