I'm studying psychology, and it's true that medication is often not the best solution (and environmental influences are woefully underacknowledged) but "medical labotomies" is taking it too far - A lot of people find that medication is incredibly useful, and allows them to live a fulfilled life; Mental illness is a real thing, not just the consequence of bad lifestyle choices.
literally. i could not survive without my medications. some mental illnesses aren’t effectively treated through ONLY therapy. sometimes there’s genuine chemical imbalances that cause a person to need medication to resolve them because the imbalance can’t be fixed any other way.
I am bipolar type II and unmedicated by choice. I love seeing all those snowflakes around me get triggered by the fact that I would rather be occasionally crazy but sexy, then to be medicated "normal" and FAT without a libido!

i’ve seen a lot of people who are anti-medication and pro “traditional lifestyle” bash medication because it’s the reason some people don’t want to be pregnant. like they balk at the idea that the metal wellbeing of the “potential mother/birth giver” is more important than the possible existence of a baby.
The comments on people not having children are SO weird. Children don’t suddenly mature people. They don’t make people more mentally sound or trustworthy. There are SO MANY emotionally immature parents out there that probably should have never re-produced but chose to because it’s normalized to just have babies even if you’re not ready. And the reason we’re becoming a “childless” generation (which isn’t even true lol. Plenty of people are still having kids) is because people are REALIZING that they aren’t ready. People are realizing that they never even actually wanted kids in the first place and it’s society that pushes it onto everyone because it’s just “what you do” after marriage. If you wanna have a bunch of kids then go at it. But to sit here and judge others for not wanting the same lifestyle that YOU think is correct is stupid. Grow up

Yup, I felt the same watching the entire video... same feeling I got a while back when she started doing those videos with a very high passive-aggressive vibe (more aggressive than passsive)... I get the feeling she might've gotten into a bad situation with a therapist and wanted to hear solutions... didn't seem she got them, from the therapist at least... I hope she's safe tbh, I really like her videos and the traces of her personality (or at least of the persona she created) and I hope she either returns to that or stops making these emotional discharges public... And as I mentioned, her ASMR was special because her satire and social rights focus, not just random triggers or tapping, so if her political views are shifting 180 it is quite normal her audience is not having it.

It's really sad to watch her now. Girl you confuse me so much with the two therapist extreme videos back to back, but this is so accurate to therapists I've had in the past that ignored my ptsd. I found myself sitting here, remembering advice they gave, and even though I followed all their advice about schedules, meals, ect the nightmares, flashbacks panic attacks never stopped. Now ik what real treatment looks like, and I'm so happy to be learning how to handle my situations and process my life and get it back together
she mustve had a therapist suggest taking up a spiritual belief or something. mine has done the same, as if forcing myself to believe in a religion or spirituality will fix everything in my life. whatever she is doing or going through, once the dopamine from the excitement of change fades, she will realize this isn’t the cure to experiencing pain in your life.

When you are afraid, every thing will fit to justify your view on life. Using an ex is pretty common in that kind of change. I hope she recovers from whatever is happening to her. She is suddenly expressing 'trad wife sentiments' too. That and the weird crying in the bath thing sadly points at some kind of breakdown. Conversion to religion isn't a bad thing in itself even if it isn't my thing, but an extremely abrupt and super fanatical conversion is often a result some traumatic event.
As someone who’s been to therapy for about four years now… I got to say, the intake portion of the process is the most asinine thing, especially whenever you’ve switched therapists as much as I have. Like, I know what I want to talk about, I can explain better in a regular session rather than having to do this all over again and again😂
I'm sure if you're all dismistified regarding therapy, and if you're switching regularly, I'm sure if you explain to your therapist "hey, I've had a lot of therapists before and I'd like this 1st session to be more relaxed and more to the point instead of it being vague and holistic. My main life events are X, Y, Z; My main issues have been X, Y, Z; My main strenghts are X, Y, Z; My main weaknesses are X, Y, Z. All of this has been greatly explored previously with a decent margin of success and I would like to proceed more towards this direction!" Remember, a licensed psychologist will NEVER actively try to suggest any conclusion, they will wait for you to take your own! If you come into the room with all of your conclusions in hand and throw them in conjunction with what you don't have a conclusion for, they will be drawn to that as a start! I would know, I'm getting my Psychology masters right now!

angelica, legitimate question- do you think it would be responsible for someone like myself who has had lifelong diagnosed severe mental illness (way before it was "popular") to raise a child? my parents did this with me (my dad had bipolar with psychosis) and it went very very poorly. if not, what are good alternative ways to spend my life as i get older?

I believe if you are willing to do everything in your power to give a child the best opportunities, support and love you have every right to have a kid. If you can identify the changes or triggers with your bipolar and stay up to date with treatment and support things should go smoothly, this is never to say their won’t be hiccups in a relationship but it’s natural and okay, I hope this doesn’t feel too intrusive but don’t ever limit your options :) 💙💙

It depends. If you've already born a child, and you're asking if you should abandon him/her, the answer is no. If you're thinking of avoiding conception, the answer is yes.

different from yesterday this therapy. I found today that it was quite hard but fair, not there to be appreciated but to help us concretely as a patient. for example today I would not have given her a little hug before leaving but a good very manly handshake🤣 she had confidence in her so we just want to listen and trust her. very relaxing 😌
