A big downside to wanting to be a big channel, is you have to do things the way your watchers like it or, obviously, they won’t watch because they don’t like it. I like your positivity to her, but it’s not as negative as you’re making it out to be. People like her ASMR and want to ask her to do different triggers that they like because they want some of it specifically from her. And that’s a great thing. It shows that people like her content and want more

I genuinely mean that; I had to share your comment with friends to help determine whether it was a masterful joke/troll job, or an utterly useful sincere sentiment. This is normally the point where I’d ask you to explain what you mean, but I won’t trouble you because I already know it’s meaningless. I made an observation and offered some friendly advice based off years of watching how other ASMR artists handle the same situation. Ayla read the comment and liked it. She will take the advice or she won’t; it doesn’t really matter. And sure, maybe she was just being nice by liking the comment. Again, it doesn’t matter. I’m not sure where you got the “policing” idea from but certainly your English teacher would be disappointed in your reading comprehension and extraction skills.

@@MidnightStalkins 1. Who’s talking about being a big, famous RU-vid star? I don’t think I’ve ever heard Ayla say that’s her goal. By making this assumption you’ve already placed a level of pressure on her that is absolutely unnecessary. 2. Your assertion that she must bend to the whims of her viewers in order to become a big, famous ASMR star is completely false. There are plenty of big, famous ASMR RU-vidrs out there who pretty much do the same five or six triggers and whose videos all tend to have the same style of production. Sure, some big RU-vidrs vary it up wildly and others are willing to try any trigger asked of them for the sake of fan appeasement. That’s great. But it’s not a requirement to grow a huge audience on here. Stating otherwise isn’t just factually incorrect, it adds additional pressure for Ayla. It even goes as far as to imply that to become a popular ASMR RU-vidr she might have to make videos she might not be comfortable making. I don’t know your intentions so I’ll leave it at that. 3. One thing I definitely agree with you on is that many people asking her for this trigger or that trigger can potentially be a good thing. You’re right, the more folks who want a more personalized experience means the more in demand she is. And obviously, in a vacuum where no other forces are in play, that’s absolutely, positively excellent. But there are two things to consider. The first is that Ayla doesn’t live in a vacuum. And second, that approach is much more of an outsider looking in response. I’ll try and be more clear. There are multiple forces on Ayla and her ASMR career. External forces, like school, family, friends, extracurriculars, and maybe even a job. Then you’ve got internal pressure, such as the pressure to put out quality videos on par with her other content, the pressure to make sure she can find enough inspiration and enthusiasm to even make a video, and the pressure of new fans bringing their own trigger expectations to the channel. Her entire ASMR existence is always going to be a struggle to balance these things in ways she can handle. She isn’t unique in this way. Literally all serious ASMR RU-vidrs face this battle. But it’s real, and serves as the basis for my original comment. (Which I’ll explain in a moment). The other aspect is that outsider looking in viewpoint. It’s easy for any of us to look and point at many new demands as a good thing. Of course it is, growth is good, right? But we aren’t the ones dealing with the struggles. We’re just here for the entertainment: what can she give to us today that suits us, the fanbase. I’m not saying we all approach it as callously as that, but in reality that’s the truth of it, no? 4. The pressure of dealing with all the forces is why I left my original comment. I had just read a comment that was essentially telling her “you NEED to do this because this is what everyone wants.” It was very much in the tone of speaking in absolutes and as if they were speaking for everyone. But it certainly wasn’t how I felt or what I wanted. And it was funny, because it came on the heels of a couple comments praising her videos as being absolutely great and perfect. It was a reminder that everyone has different tastes. And had that been the only factor, I probably wouldn’t have even bothered leaving the comment. But Ayla had already become a top three ASMR content creator for me by this point. And after a flurry of uploads to start off the channel, I noticed she was falling behind that original frequency. Indeed, she’d already taken at least one break of eight days or more where she hadn’t posted anything. The reasons don’t really matter. Between the break, the dip in upload frequency, and the comments I read, it made me realize she was at that point in ASMR channel existence where the demand was growing, thus the internal pressures from that were mounting at a significant level. When combined with the external pressures of school and other life events, I realized that she was at that point where so many other young RU-vidrs find themselves at during their channel existence. One very common result from this situation is a significant decrease in (channel) motivation. Mounting pressure from external and internal sources tends to create a lack of motivation that can be so powerful some RU-vidrs quit. Indeed, the fastest way to get to the ASMR Graveyard is a lack of motivation. I don’t ultimately know Ayla’s goals for her ASMR channel. But it’s one of my favorites and I’d love to see her avoid the ASMR Graveyard for as long as possible. That was why I left my original comment. It wasn’t meant as a commentary of the forces in her life and whether they were positive or negative. It was meant as a friendly acknowledgement that while it’s awesome to see her branching out and trying different triggers and editing approaches, in the end doing what she wants to do is perfectly fine and ultimately healthy. If she tries a minimal editing approach to her videos and discovers she prefers heavier editing so she can pack a video full of even more triggers, great! If she gets 200 requests for spit painting but doing a video like that would make her uncomfortable, great! Don’t do the video. If she wants or needs to walk away for a while from time to time, wonderful. In other words, my comment was encouragement to do what is best for her at any given moment.
