For those who don't know, the car on the box is a 1963 Ford GT40 MK I. Basically, Ford had beef with Ferrari, and wanted to beat them at a 24 hour race in France called the 24 Hours of Le Mans, spoilers, Ford eventually won in 1966, and won every year till 1970, the GT40 remains the only american car to win the race.

omg my dad use to collect these, i’d play with them as a kid and i can only assume that he’s still got his matchbox cars somewhere

Believe it or not, these things are super vintage and are worth a mini fortune. It’s only certain once’s like these because they were made between the 60’s to 80’s, and they don’t make hot wheels or matchbox cars like they used to. Especially since these all seem to be in good condition I’d say to hold onto these until you research these and know what you have. I collect diecast cars myself so I thought to add a little input. By the way this is a fantastic video !

My Dad also gave me his original Matchbox collection. I cherish it and keep them displayed in a clear case.

That pink one you showed @ 3:09 is called an Alfa Romeo. Have the same one except mine has a broken wind shield and the front wheels are bent I think I got at a thrift store. It came in a bag with other cars

I used to have a bunch of small cars like these when I was a kid, but mine were mostly Hot Wheels brand, not Matchbox brand. Thank you for showing us your collection. That is so cool that you have ao.e f4om the latest 1960s and early 1970s. I wish I still had mine because mine were from the early 1980s. (Yes I am old). Love you channel.
