I married my best friend. I was in love with him (knew we would get married) for a year before he realized I was more than a best friend and he wanted me for the rest of his life. I was shocked when he proposed because he had just realized he wanted to be more than friends only weeks before. Of course I said yes & we got married on the beach. The best 9 years of my life were when we became friends, quickly best friends within just a few weeks, & then 7 years of marriage before he shockingly and unexpectedly didn't wake up. I met one of my best friends in the Army. It wasn't until 4 years after we met before we confessed our feelings. He patiently waited in the friend zone for 4 years before asking for a chance of his own. We are currently celebrating our 8 year marriage anniversary with our four children.
