Jason - Several months ago, I stumbled upon videos of yours as I was searching for ASMR videos to watch. I love the ASMR part of your videos, but since I have been watching, I have found myself really enjoying the shoe shine process. I’ve developed an understanding of how this is done based off of your videos. I’ve watched other shoe shine videos on RU-vid and they don’t compare to yours. I like your style, technique and the way you explain things. Based off of what I have seen and learned, I just bought some Saphir and Angelus products that you use and I will start taking really good care of my shoes. I’m also going to shine some family and friends’ shoes as well. Going from ASMR videos to loving the craft of shoe shining, all because of Jason Dornstar!

I just got a pair of Axel Arigato white leather sneakers, I wore them out for the first time yesterday and wanted to clean them when I got home because they got a light layer of dirt on them. I cleaned the first one using my crep protect soft bristle brush with lukewarm water and I noticed there was a lot of peeling happening all over the leather on the shoe. (like a very thin shiny top layer was coming off to reveal the same white leather but without the shine). I cleaned the other shoe extremely carefully with just a damp microfibre towel and the same peeling happened although not to the same extreme. (So I don't think I was doing anything wrong using the brush). They're real Italian leather so I don't understand why this has happened. I have sent emails to both the manufacturer and the retailer but I just wanted to see if this is anything you have ever heard of before? Thanks!

Ok I have a question I've got a pair of reproduction us army combat boots and I wanted to know how I can make them darker because back durring ww2 us soldiers used mink oil or dubbin on their boots and they are suade and the upper buckle part is standard leather how should I go about darkening them because I also need them waterproofed I wear them almost on a daily basis

Is there anything you recommend to lighten suede? I have a pair of suede boots that are burnt orange and I want to lighten them so I can aim them more of a light brown.
