This might be an unpopular opinion but I LOVE ASMR whisper rambles. just hearing the softness of someone's voice and the subtle tounge clicks here and there is SO relaxing and a perfect background video while doing other tasks to listen to. love love LOVE!
After Dexter, next suspenseful show I recommend is Lost. It's from around the same era of television (you called it old 😂; it's my college years). There's so much misinformation about the show and its ending, but most fans of the show who really took the time to understand it really enjoyed the whole experience including myself. I've seen more TV than I care to admit, but it's still my favorite after all these years. Just the best characters with so much growth over its seasons.
(If Interested) in S.S. (Suspense Shows) I'd Highly Highly Recommend a show called White Lines. Makes those two look like sixth, seventh, or possibly eight grade. (It's on Netflix.) I'd also (Highly) recommend Goode Behaviour. (At the moment for now) it's on Max, RU-vid, HuLu, Sling, Amazon Prime (w/varying tiers of subscriptions) as well as cable tnt.
I'm more of a comedy person myself. I used to watch 'Big Bang Theory' a lot years ago before other shows captured my interest. It gets a lot of hate for its portrayal of nerds and how it pokes fun at the way 'smart' people talk, but there are certainly friend groups in real life that act exactly like them. I also enjoyed HIMYM as well. My personal recommendations would be *1)* 'Community' - a show about a failed lawyer who is forced to re-enroll in community college after it's discovered he lied about his credentials and joins a study group with other students and all kinds of craziness and shenanigans happen throughout the show. *2)* 'Superstore' - a show that is a workplace comedy like 'The Office' but takes place in a big-box retail store. *3)* 'Monk' - for a similar reason why you and your bf watch 'Dexter' together, this show is sort of in the same vein. It's about an obsessive-compulsive, multi-phobic former police detective with a savant-like eye for detail that works as a private consultant for the department. Every episode he solves a murder/crime mystery, while having to overcome his OCPD and phobias along the way, which are often a source of comedy for the show. And hovering over him is the mystery behind the sudden tragic death of his wife, which is frequently referenced throughout the show and ultimately what wraps it up at the end.
never have i ever on netflix is a high school show that is very funny and gives off sit-com vibes. the episodes are pretty short and the series in total is a quick watch but i have never laughed so much and related to the main character more. she is basically this chaotic teen where every season is a new year of HS for her and explores her struggles, friends, relationships and more. HIGHLY recommend :))
I also love watching Dani ASMR. Her slow gentle style and whisper rambles with tongue clicking and fluffy mic scratching are so relaxing. You and her are my two faves. Thanks for your great content. You are super relaxing for me to watch and listen to when I want to chill out in the evening after work.
Based on the sitcoms that you listed, I think you'd really enjoy Superstore! It's got an amazing comedic ensemble cast. And also, I fall asleep to Gilmore Girls as well! (My husband is not a fan. 😅)

Her whisper is subtly clicky but also breathy and soft and I just truly can relax hearing her ramble about anything. And how she just naturally moves her hands while she talks is again the most subtle hand movements too. It almost feels like unintentional ASMR which is so hard to do and hard to find IMO. I love her!

You should try Arrested Development, it’s my favorite sit com by far (at least the first 3 seasons). It’s about this wealthy family that gets caught up in legal trouble and has to scramble to keep what they can when the dad gets sent to prison. It’s just a very funny show about an extremely dysfunctional family
Try Brooklyn Nine Nine!! It's light hearted just the way you like and it has comedy, romance, action, crime. Literally the whole package. It's such amazing feel good series. Please give it a try

Not Dead Yet. It’s such a good light-hearted show. It’s on Hulu. Also, Big Brother! It’s reality tv but it’s a mix of Survivor and shows where you see into their lives while on the show! So good!!
Love your rambles! They make us feel closer to you 🫶🫶 If you like sit-coms definitely check out Community! Its by the writer of rick and morty and hilarious in a The Good Place kinda way. Also, Castle is great! Its kind of like Dexter in that its about murders but with a fun, sit-com spin. Hoping for more rambles about your favourite things!!!
If you haven’t yet, you have to check out these shows: Breaking Bad, The Shield, The Sopranos, Sons of Anarchy, Game of Thrones for some really good drama, great acting and writing.
Only 1 of the shows you listed that I haven’t seen is ‘The Shield. Game Of Thrones was incredible up until the last 2 seasons. In my opinion the best 2 shows of all time are The Sopranos and Breaking Bad. No question.
I myself personally am not a content creator. So I feel like I’m not really in a position to say this, but it sort of seems to me that when viewers or fans complement content creators, they seem to brush it off generally. I’m not talking about you Beez, I just mean in general. So I want you to know, genuinely, that the ASMR you create always has a way of putting me in a realm of relaxation and offers me peace of mind. I know complements can get old and even disingenuous sometimes, but I mean this when I say it; you’re among my top 3 favourite ASMRtists of all time without a doubt. Thank you :) ❤

Ok I love Modern Family. Liked Dexter (haven’t seen the new season) Used to watch Survivor and Big Brother. No more. And I loved The Last Man in Earth! When you said “The main character makes you want to” I pictured him with half his face shaved and thought “punch him in the face” I suggest New Girl. It’s the Friends formula but done so well. It’s a modern day classic. I’ll suggest two of my favorites but they’re dramas. Lost. Probably still my favorite tv show of all time. I watched it from day one live on tv. I was hooked. Bought the whole season dvds. It’s a show about a group of people on an airplane that crash land on an island but it’s so much more. What you learn about the passengers and their connections, the plane, and even the island had me hooked. And last suggestion. Prison Break. Second favorite show ever. Story of a brother who gets himself arrested cause his brother is on death row to be executed and he is going to break them out. The younger brother (the one who gets arrested to break them out) is a genius character and his brother Lincoln is the brawn. The first season is where it’s at. There are multiple seasons, all good, but the first season is prime television.
Gilmore Girls is one of my favorites! It doesn't need to be a girly show! I literally have no shame watching it and tell everyone I know they should give it a try. It helps me calm down when I'm stressed or anxious, and I also sleep to it. The "la la laaaaa's" that randomly sing throughout the show reallyyyy help people relax. Also! Definitely look up the CBS news article (I can't post links here) that is titled: U.S. Marines say "Gilmore Girls" offered "escapism" from times of war If guys feel "effeminate" when watching Gilmore Girls, I show them that article to show them how ridiculous they are by feeling that way. If US Marine snipers during wartime can watch Gilmore Girls, then men can suck it up and not be so uptight about watching a great show. lol

Young Sheldon is so great too…it’s about Sheldon from Big Bang Theory growing up and his family…really good. And yes…apply for Survivor…love that show and the been watching for years.
Big Bang Theory is my go to "background show", the style & delivery of humor can make me laugh even after dozens of watches. Similar to Dexter, go even older (ended just before Dexter srarted), Six Feet Under. Kinda dark humor, & really deep & thought provoking. Often regarded as a show with one of the best finales ever. Brand new show alert, Based on a True Story (Has Penny from Big Bang, love Kaley), mystery/true crime/comedy, I loved it & hope it gets renewed for more seasons!
There was a show that only had 2 seasons called Pushing Daisies. It was a funny show with some romantic storyline and some "crime" mystery. There were some funny moments and some tension filled moments. I can see why it only lasted 2 seasons but there were some good episodes.
Back in the early 2000's there was a show called Smallville. It was basically a soap opera for men and the story follows a teenaged Clark Kent before his Superman years. We get to see him growing up and dealing with High School and learning to live with his powers while keeping them secret from his friends and relationships. The show had an interesting take on Lex Luthor where he and Clark were actually friends before he becomes the villain he is known to be. You may not like it but I loved watching it, it lasted for 10 seasons and each season I think had around 24 episodes each.
The oldies were the Best like Brady Bunch… Happy Days…..and Fantasy island! and for you romantics …The Love Boat! They don’t make em like that anymore!

I never finished Modern Family, or Big Bang theory. My attention shifted mostly to old seasons of The X Files for a little while. It was quite "pleasant" to go from light hearted shows to just constant "have some nightmares, please."

The Bachelorette with JoJo. She is from my area and I worked w her dad at the hospital. I was the charge nurse and he was one of the doctors that would come and round my floor.
I used to watch bachelor but lost interest after a few seasons. The Gilmore girls are on my list. Reacher is a great show you and your boyfriend can watch. It has 2 seasons, me and my hubby started watching it about a week ago and already on season two.
