Fun fact: until very recently, we didn‘t have an official uppercase letter/version of the ß. The reason behind it is probably that there‘s no word that start with an ß. But since writing things in uppercase letters came into style, people were forced to use „SS“ as a replacement. Now we do have an uppercase version and it looks like this: ẞ. Comparison: ß ẞ
wait what? iam 1988 and never saw a the uppercase ß... german gramatic is nuts!!! i remeber the whole debate with our teacher about "fussball" and "fußball" and "sharp-s" "double-s" and "sz"... stuff is confusing even for me as german :D
That’s weird. I didn’t know that. I never went to school on Saturdays. If anything, we‘re talking about private schools or Universities. But a regular public school will go from Monday to Friday with the weekend off. Anyways: lovely video 🥰
longest german word.... "Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz"... i had to use google to translate but its pretty much "beef labeling surveillance duties transfer law"
in german u can also spell ü=ue, ä=ae, ö=oe ...german language has insane ammount of "rules" on how to spell&grammatic etc! there is also the letter "ß" which we call "sz"...
