Hi Gibi, a nautical mile is longer than the statute mile that is used when referring to miles per hour in your car. 10 nautical miles is equal to 11.5 miles, so 10 knots is equal to 11.5 miles per hour 🙂
TimeStamps 😊❤ 0:00 Intro 1:17 Marie Antoinette never said "Let them eat cake". 2:20 Roughly 10% of the population is left-handed. 2:36 A knot is the word for one nautical mile per hour. 3:20 The San Francisco Giants were originally from New York City and they were named "The Gothams". 3:36 Winningest is actually a word meaning to win the most often. 4:20 The chin is the part of the skeletal structure of the human head that is purely unique and not shared with any other species on earth. 5:11 Leonardo Da Vinci was ripped, he liked to pump iron by lifting weights and was strong enough to bend an iron horseshoe with his bare hands. 7:12 Arby's the fast food chain bought Pharrel's Fedora on Ebay for 44.100 dollars because it looked like the hat in their logo. 7:48 Washington's inauguration took place in New York City, Washington DC didn't become the capital until a year later. 8:54 President George H.W. Bush hated broccoli, so he banished from the White House, he notoriusly loved junk food. 9:35 James Smithson, a chemist and a meteorologist, left his money, his fortune to his nephew but told his nephew if he died without an heir, the money would go to building the Smithsonian in the United States, so his nephew did die without an heir and James Smithson was eventually buried at the Smithsonian in 1905 making it the first time he "ever visited" the United States. 11:15 A group of crows is called a murder. 11:37 Scoring four consecutive strikes when bowling is called a clover. 12:38 Africa is the only continent that sits in all four hemispheres. 13:38 Reindeer eyes turn blue in the winter and are yellow brown in warm weather, the blue eyes help them see better in the dark. 14:22 The purlicue is the fleshy area between the thumb and the forefinger. 14:57 Jell-O gave away free dessert molds to Ellis Island inmigrants in the early 1900's as a welcoming gift. 16:00 Thomas Edison's electric pen was the inspiration for the modern day electric tattoo gun. 16:22 The artistic term for the radiant light or halo that sourrounds sacred or mythological figures in classical art is called "Nimbus". 17:12 The north star is also called Polaris. 17:33 Since 1945 all british battle tanks have been equipped with the ability to make tea. 18:02 A bee has to visit 2 million flowers to make one pound of honey. 18:36 The most populous city in the world with over 35 million residents is Tokyo. 19:28 Madame Tussaud's was hired to make wax death masks of the nobles guillotined during the french revolution. 21:30 outro ❤

Dinosaurs are my thing, so here’s a cool fact: 🦖🦕 The spikes on Stegosaurus’s tail are called Thagomizers. Scientists adopted its usage after a Comic artist used the name as a joke.
Wow! That's fascinating! I like telling dinosaur facts, but I can never think of any off the top of my head. I'll be sure to remember this one! Thanks!
This is random, but Gary Larson (who is the comic artist aforementioned) is a regular customer of mine! I work at a pizzeria and he lives in our delivery zone. He’s a real cool guy, talks about jazz with one of our drivers.
the radium girls are a group of women who worked in clock painting studios, they used paint with radium in it (radium mixed with zinc creates a glow in the dark effect) and they were forced to lick the brushes to make them pointy, in doing this they ingested some of the radium paint, after a while, the radium became a part of their immune system and their skin began to glow in the dark. (they all died of cancer later tho)
day 57: asking Gibi to do a 'Daisy is ur Hunger Games mentor' OR 'Daisy is going to the Hunger games with u' roleplay I'm dreaming for the day this title will pop up in my notifications
You know it was like day 20 something and when I first saw this comment I wasn’t digging it but now I too dream that this one day pops up in my notifications
The way it worked was you tied knots in a rope and a plank on the end and dropped the plank in the water. The number of knots in the rope that were pulled through your hands per minutes is your speed, in "knots". Please note, this doesnt work with planes, which also use knots.
this is simeltaneously the most relaxing and sleep depriving thing. On one hand, Gibi's voice is relaxing and sleep inducing, but on the other hand i NEED to stay awake to hear the facs
Even more odd, planes use nautical measurements like knots for speed and nautical miles for distances, even though they generally dont get along too well with being submerged in water
Boats and planes use nautical miles because it takes into account the curvature of the Earth, which is necessary when traveling long distances. That's why a nautical mile is longer than a statute (flat) mile.
Thank you so much Gibi 🤗 I feel honored that someone as talented as you ... watched my video and was able to relax ! I appreciate you added the link to your description box ! 💕
I know it's only a small detail, but I really love that new thing she's started doing when she says "It's... Gibi" and I don't know why but it makes me smile every time!
Random fact: there's more stars in the universe than there's grains of sand in the sahara. And there's more molecules in a single grain of sand than there's stars in the universe. ⭐💧👁👌
Extra Fact: there is also another form of handedness known as "cross dominance" or "hand confusion" which is where your handedness varies between different activities. (For example: I, being someone with cross dominance find that I'm better at drawing with my left hand yet I throw a ball with my right.)
Imagine a dog with a chin. A Peter Griffin dog. PS: Gibi, Leonardo da Vinci was the most intelligent man relative to his time that has ever lived. He invented helicopters, planes, robots, parachutes, automobiles, tanks, and an instrument called the viola organista. He was a fucking genius. And he painted, sculpted and drew
"Every British armoured vehicle is fitted with two 'boiling vessels' known as BVs. These can be used to heat food or make tea. Soldiers will always joke that if the BV is broken the vehicle is unserviceable and should not be used." :)
@@sciencelover404 I think if you check the "about" page on her channel. I believe that tells you the date the channel was created and how many views the channel has.
here’s a fun fact about the human body: *humans actually glow in the dark.* obviously we don’t have enough bioluminescence to light up a room like an angler fish, but humans do emit a slight glow that isn’t visible with the naked eye. correct me if i’m wrong but i believe it is due to the fact that we have a high body temperature, the heat emits a soft glow.
Cow's have a best friend. Crows are as intelligent as great apes. Chickens can play video games and figure out basic puzzles. Lobsters can live to be 100 years old. 🌱
Gibi, you helped me through some hard times with your ASMR roleplays and just your channel in general. Your content has helped me sleep so much and before I wasn't able to sleep and sometimes even had to take medicine to fall asleep. Thank you so much Gibi, keep up the great content.
Leonardo was actually a sculptor aswell! He made all sorts of stuff, he was a complete genius! There are some drawings that remind what today we call helicopters and tanks, man was waaaay ahead of its time
To the person reading this, here's a quick reminder for u. Don’t be afraid to start over. This time you’re not starting from scratch. You’re starting from experience. xoxo
Random fact: Steglitz was the largest Town of Prussia before being annected to Berlin and becoming an official District of it. Ye it says random in the title what did you expect
1:00 So that's why in the episode where there's Marie Antoniette of DC Legends of tomorrow she made people eating a cake that made them party forever, wow.
I finish work at 1am. Take me an hour to drive home. In bed exhausted by 2am. Then my pain start with not being able to sleep. Yesterday I slept around 5am to wake at 6:30am. I was able to get that short sleep because of ASMR. What FrivviFox and Gibi do is no less than what doctors do. Thanks 🙏
So I’m French and "let them eat cake" this is the first time I heard it , in history class we all learn "qu’il mange de la brioche" this is actually kinda interesting like how a quote can change in term of the country
You have millions of bacteria in your bowels that help digest the food that you eat. If you're ever eating alone, just remember that you have heaps of friends in your gut sharing the food with you.
2:58 Knots are different and are used in ships and planes, one Knot = 1.15078 Mph - a student pilot When you're flying in my experience usually the only speed measurement not given in knots is the ground speed(Speed you are traveling over the ground vs the normal gauge which is your speed through the air) that said some planes do use MPH instead of Knots.
Have you tried drinking water? In all honesty, this was just a joke 😅 If you are in serious pain please seek real help 🥺 Also never trust a stranger on the internet 😂
Kimi's ASMR Hey, please try to refrain from advertising like this in the future! For the most part, it just annoys people and gets you reported for spam. Your ASMR is good enough on its own without advertising like this anyways. I'm sure you don't mean any ill intent, just thought I'd let you know.
Hi, a nautical mile is longer than a mile Extra: Before we had technology to calculate knots, people used to tie knots in rope and hang it off their boats and use that to determine their speed :)
Here's a fun fact for you (it's a long one, but related to Trivial Pursuit): "A serial trivia book author named Fred Worth had a sneaking suspicion that his questions were being pilfered by other writers. Unfortunately, he had no recourse because it's impossible to copyright obscure facts, since anybody could claim they found them on their own. So Worth built a trap. In Super Trivia: Volume II, published in 1982, he claimed that Lieutenant Columbo's first name was Philip. The catch is that nobody knew his first name (and most sources say that it later appeared as Frank). Worth's trap worked, and "Philip Columbo" showed up in the 1984 edition of the Trivial Pursuit board game. Worth promptly sued the game's makers for stealing his facts, but the court case never went anywhere. (Though Trivial Pursuit admitted to using Worth's fake Columbo nugget, judges felt it wasn't an actionable offense.) Worth appealed all the way to the Supreme Court, but never found his payday. That said, he did gain the pride of shaming one of the world's most popular board games, as well as inventing a fact that's still wrongly repeated today. Frank - not Philip - Columbo would be proud."
Yesterday i woke up in the middle of the night, and heard whispers right beside me, I legit thought it was some kind of paralisis demon xd Turns out it was gibi cus o left the autoplay :')
the kids poem "ring around the rosey, pocket full of poseys, ashes ashes, we all fall down". is about the plague. where a red rash was a symptom, poseys were carried by people to cover the smell of death, ashes was about burning all the bodies.
✨Well done you are at the asmr stop✨ ❤wash your face/do routine❤ 🌱write in a journal(it helps)🌱 💞take any needed meds💞 🍓get some water🍓 🌊relax🌊 🌌Fun fact🌌 🧚♀️crocodiles cant stick their tongue out🧚♀️ 🎇if needed🎇 🦦I know that I dont know what you are going through but I am here to help. Stay safe,we will get through it together.🦦
Dude, listening to ancient english is so cool. Like, as a greek guy, who lives in a country where people are afraid of change and they wanna stay on their asses and not move foreword, ancient greek phrases just dont make any sense. They might have some connection to the new ones but they are completely different words. An example is, we have 2 whites. Both mean white but the one is new-ancient greek. One is Ασπρο (As+pro) and the other one is Λευκό (Lefko, lef like "left" and ko like "common") they have no similar sounding what so ever. While look at for example "Winingist". Its so simple, you take the gerund "Wining" which means that one is wining right now as we speak or in the current state of a tournament or something, and the ending "-ist" which is easy to understand as "one"/"someone" English has some basic bricks and then builds every word with those bricks while greek is just a mess where every word is i'ts own brick. It's like some grammar "rules" we learn for foreign languages where there are too many exceptions that there cant be a stable rule.
Fun fact: the knot is used because they used to make “tick marks” in the boats and throw a lot overboard. However many ticks, or “knots” the log had passed in 28 seconds was roughly equal to 1 nautical mile
