@@henrylubinski2728Hamas targeted Military bases . The festival venue was changed 2 days prior to event . New venue : A Kibbutz adjacent to Nahal Oz Military Base. Close to border. Warned from many sources of imminent attack including Israeli military personnel. Coincidence ?
@@henrylubinski2728 that's my point exactly. I'm not saying there is no collateral damage or that they are targeting civilians but u used the word "killed", that implies 2 parties. The word "died" makes it sound like they just stopped breathing not that they died by being blown to bits.
Ariel Sharon The prime minister of Israel speaks to the Israeli public in 2005 about Gaza evacuation - "Citizens of Israel, the day has come. We are beginning the most difficult and painful step of all - the evacuation of our communities in the Gaza Strip and northern Samaria. This step is very difficult for me personally. The Israeli government did not take the decision on disengagement lightly, nor did the Knesset approve it easily. It's no secret that I, like many others, believed and hoped that we could cling forever to Netzarim and Kfar Darom, but the changing reality in the land, the region and the world forced me to reassess and change positions. We cannot hold onto Gaza forever. Over a million Palestinians live there, doubling their numbers every generation. They are crammed into overcrowded refugee camps, in poverty and distress, in hothouses of growing hatred, without any horizon of hope. We are taking this step from a position of strength, not weakness. We tried to reach arrangements with the Palestinians that would move both peoples toward peace. These efforts shattered against the wall of hatred and zealotry. The unilateral disengagement plan that I announced about two years ago is Israel's answer to this reality. This plan is good for Israel under any future scenario. We are minimizing the daily friction and casualties on both sides. The IDF will re-deploy behind the security fence within defensible borders. Those who continue fighting us will meet the full force of the IDF and security forces. The burden of proof now falls on the Palestinians. They must fight terror organizations, dismantle their infrastructures, and show genuine intentions for peace so they can sit with us at the negotiating table. The world awaits the Palestinian response - a hand in peace or the fire of terror. An outstretched hand will be met with an olive branch (meaning peace), but fire will be met with harder fire than ever before". Guess what - A year later, the Palestinian people in Gaza elected Hamas. Hamas then killed over 100 members of the Palestinian Authority (Fatah/PLO) within a few days, and since then Hamas has controlled the Gaza Strip. Hamas fires missiles into Israel whenever it is convenient for them. They have instigated several wars. And now Ireland, Norway and Spain want to reward them by offering Hamas-controlled Gaza statehood recognition after October 7th.
@@ChefbyMistakehe is an Australian citizen. He got his medical degree from UNSW in 1996. So please explain what you mean when you say he is not Australian? And the relevance.
@@jaybee9269 Nope, it would be the Israelis, especially the current government, who are the fascists, and whom Orwell would decry. The Gazans are an occupied oppressed people, and a young Orwell might have gone to Palestine to fight the occupiers.
The sanitisation by the media needs to be fully exposed and acted upon. They need to be held accountable for their blatant bias and support of war criminals.
Agree. I kick myself for being naive in believing there was no bias or agenda. It's like when you are honest and you assume everyone else is honest, too. Luckily I grew up.
The new norm especially jn colonial countries is to play games and employees play dumb that they did not notice. Can you imagine what the world will be in ten years time with hill billies breeding
Dr. Rad is a PhD graduated, brilliant communicator, someone we need on our side advocating for Palestinians being human and deserving human rights. Thank you for giving her some screen time. I hope to see her a lot more often.
Retired editor here. Love this. Did my time in the trenches fixing headers, standfirsts and subheads for both print and digital news. It's a thankless job as we're the faceless ones trying to balance accuracy, impact, sensitivities, fact-checking and verbiage. Thank you AJ for highlighting the troops behind the headlines. And kudos to your field reporters for all the risks they face in bringing the news to us.
Worse it's actually so normal that we often even do it automatically. And without noticing. So there is an intentionality spectrum... I'm sure most of our conspiracies are actually our own shadows. That's also what makes it so complicated and interwoven... Unfortunately.... Marketing is essentially propaganda. And we sell ourselves all day long. There is. Cognitive dissonance because people sort of realize it it's so programmed in us that it takes a strong free will to strive through the determinance. So there are phases. And the more public someone is representing the more they need to be accountable. So not to take away from your point. Western media is suppose to be and claims to be leaders of civility and decent moral structures... Yet isn't accountable and clearly shows intentions toward hidden dimensions. 😮
I did a 6 month assignment fir my ba politics on thus. Was great. Anglo sydney australia used herman chomskys book Manufacturing Consent and John piglets film death of a nation re east Timor as the eg.
Thank you! It’s also worth noting the omitting of US culpability in these same headlines. We always see ‘Iranian-backed Rebels/Forces…” as a qualifier when reporting on Hamas, Hezbollah, Syria, and the Houthis actions, yet never “U.S.-backed Israeli Forices…” when they reign down untold levels of destruction and death on tens of thousands of civilian and civilians infrastructure, using U.S. supplied tax dollars and U.S. supplied weapons, craft, equipment, and munitions.
not to mention Israel's killings of journalists despite their citizenship so that the only ones remaining are only Palestinian journalists living in war zone but then western media will paint them as Hamas lead so people will doubt their credibility.
I am on you tube because everything is covered, blatant lies and poor knowledge around me. Even if you wine or dine with locals they are better off knowing rough sports
The most important correction to be communicated is that the corporate news is not in business to inform the public, nor is it to hold power accountable. The business of the corporate news is selling ads, but more specifically, selling audiences to advertisers.
Aljazeera and truth shouldn't belong in the same sentence.. She's a hypocrite. Does she call hamas terrorists in her headlines? Aljazeera uses the term hamas 'fighters'...
What fantastic reporting Assal great job. I’ve already shared it. God bless you. Keep up the great work. Very informative and enlightening to those who need to read beyond the headlines by checking out reports such as yours.
"Official IDF spokesperson reports that XYZ happened" vs "Aid workers allege that XYZ happened'. Often, the second one is followed by "We haven't been able to independently verify the claims" but that same statement is NEVER levied against IDF allegations. I see this all the time, even in outlets I used to have respect for (Guardian, BBC).
I have been complaining to the guardian re their reporting on this. I pay fir it and am not happy. Thanks for that youve inspired me comment here re that.
So true! In Canada, I complained to the CBC when they hosted three separate interviews, zi's and even an anti-pal bigot to comment on a British Columbia provincial minister when she made public slurs against pals. I kid you not! Pals are not allowed to narrate their own experiences. Only days later after lots of complaints did the CBC rush in someone to interview, someone finally knowledgeable about the affronted Pal community. Imagine the furious uproar if the situation was reversed and someone made antisemitic slurs.
Brilliant, one of the best journalistic pieces I’ve ever seen. Most cognisant readers with a speck of critical thinking will have noticed some problematic details with the misleading headlines (especially those behind paywalls) but this video goes in great depth with professionalism. Well done Al Jazeera!
OMG THE CONTENT I DIDN'T KNOW I NEEDED!!! this is so important, like the amount of inaccurate or even pro Israel propaganda headlines in mainstream medias are insane! the one I hate the most is the add-on Hamas based or Hamas lead before any legitimate Palestinian bodies like health ministry or humanitarian aid organizations!
Aljazeera teaching the world what real journalism is. History will not forget the lies that were fed to us to cover the atrocities that they are complicit in. We won’t forget and we will never forgive.
Very good analyse, the things most of people don't see about when asleep. Happened in WW2 and many other cases too!! Until this day. The same powers the same strategy, even the same subjects.. You just have to see in doing your own research
Bravo! This is a great catch that discloses how there is manipulation even of the language used by Western media. This also shows for most of the media the intent of the West!
Great job Assal for this kind of misleading biased media. It is about time to let the truth surface and it is now. Thanks for the power of social media where a platform is available for skillful people like you who are willing to make a change. THANKS A BUNDLE 🌷
This Gaza, West Bank, Palestine naming had me confused so many years ago. I DID however have an idea of who Hamas was from the atrocious bombing Israel did to peoples homes back in 2002, said to be targeting Hamas, in retaliation for two Israelis jumping the fence and getting themselves killed. I knew then that Hamas was a political party, and that they weren't even in charge. What struck me though, was the massive loss of life, and the extreme imbalance of it. For many years, that's all I knew. For that I am grateful. Because when I found out about Hamas' Al-Aqsa Flood operation, my first reaction was "Good for them", my second was "Oh no". I knew what was to come. I never condemned... I commended... then I grew concerned... so I championed them with people I knew, and in comments here on RU-vid. And I cried .A lot.
I'm a Muslim who was always in my own bubble. I knew about the Palestinians and their troubles, but my sympathy was always just surface level. Then 10/7 happened, and I'm ashamed that I was one of those who thought "Welp, shouldn't have done that then," when Israel retaliated. Then I did my own research, going to unbiased sources and videos. What I learned was eye-opening. This has been going on 75 years. Never again.
The way this story is being told in western media is not right. Without independent journalists on various social media this support for Palestine would only be half as strong. Thank you for saying this loud and clear. The status quo depends upon people who only consume headlines. They will not read or learn further.
If Israeli leaders can say,"There are no innocent people in the Gaza Strip" as said by Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman then there are no innocents in Israeli especially since every Israeli man and woman must serve in the IDF and are therefore complicit. There were no innocents at the Nova Music Festival, "Friends, Love and Infinite Freedom", at the kibbutzim, at the military outposts that were attacked, etc.
