Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma criticized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav on Saturday for his comments regarding the recent cancellation of the Namaz break in the Assam Assembly. Speaking at a press conference during the induction of former JMM leader Lobin Hembrom into the BJP, Sarma challenged Yadav, suggesting that he should have implemented a similar practice in Bihar when he was Deputy Chief Minister. Sarma's comments come after Yadav accused the BJP of sowing discord between religious communities and voiced his support for the rights of Muslims.

@Assamese.Kalita what he is saying is that the people of Assam are being treated like toddlers - being distracted from real issues with Hindu-Muslim cheap politics. Religion has always been used by rulers to hypnotize the weak and ignorant, so some of it will always remain. This is a new low where someone is saying they are not being productive because they have a 2-hour break on Friday. If he was announcing no holidays at all throughout the year his reasons of productivity would still be believable, although availability is not the sole criteria for success; ability is. On another note, kindly type/write Assam with a capital A, always. Do not disrespect the State name.

On the other hand, our Chief Minister, Himanta Biswa Sarma, is a PhD holder, a writer, and a scholar-an entirely self-made politician who has risen to become one of India's top-performing chief ministers. In contrast, Mr. Yadav, who failed his 9th grade, enjoys political privileges solely because of his father's legacy. This is a person who cannot distinguish between GDP and GDP growth rate, yet he has the audacity to lecture us on such significant issues.
