Hello friends, so this time it is Assam ki thali or Assamese Thali vlog for you all. I really wanted to have Assam thali since a long time as I had not tasted this cuisine much, so, finally found one of the best places in Mumbai for Assam food which serves lovely Assamese thali. India is blessed with cuisines that are different and unique in flavours and the cuisine keeps changing as we travel from one state to another.
Assamese food boasts of its own creations and recipes. Assamese food centers around the main ingredient "rice".
The use of spices is the minimum. In Assamese food Most of all the non vegetarian dishes are usually combined with some plant or vegetables.
There is a lot of use of the practice of fermentation and drying that form a part of the habits of people staying in the hills.
As meat and fish are found in plenty their use in the daily diet is quite common. Most of the Assamese people use mustard oil as the medium of cooking.
In this vlog friends we paid a visit to Assam bhavan located in Navi Mumbai and had some amazing Assamese food. The bhavan serves as a residence for people who come from Assam for treatment of medical ailments to Mumbai. The bhavan houses a canteen called "Bogdoi" that serves authentic Assamese food.
The fresh water wish like Rohu and Catla are mainly used in the fish preparations and are really a delight to have. They have a variety of Assamese, Bengali and South Indian Thali's that cater to different likes and tastes.
