Conor is by far the assassin with the highest moral conviction; it's absolutely moving for a video game character. "You continue to fight. Why?" "BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE WILL!"

So many people didn't understand Connor. He was fighting the templars alone. His family burnt down to ashes. He has no choice but to kill kill his best friend to avoid a conflict against the rebels and his people. His people are dead when they achieve freedom. You don't understand him because we don't often see his kind of character in an entertainment.

This game aged like a fine wine. Truly one of the best and representative games of what AC is. Connor isn’t boring and dull, he’s a naive Native American who’s family was killed and village burnt and is now fighting something he doesn’t truly understand. The game is gray at times but ultimately shows that even if Connor is alone he will fight for what is right. This is one of the only AC games to make me cry for the character and it’s just so beautiful.

***** Your recruits wasn't as helpful as they were in AC Revelations.. And I dont understand if they are your 'Assassin recruits' why you have cook on your side who use's his meat cleaver to kill ppl.. In earlier games they were able to handle many enemies, but when you call your recruits in AC3 they will fall easily.. Fortunately brotherhood is coming back at Unity, and I think Rogue will be better game than AC3. But Connor's line was epic, I like it most in this trailer.

I really like Connor, and as an assassin, he has the best reason to join the order. Altair was born to it, Ezio wanted to revenge his family, Edward didnt even want to be an assassin, Arno got lucky, Connor joined not to revenge his mother, but to save his people, i wish Connor had another game, or at least appearance in AC Syndicate as an old master assassin.
@danielandreverkland9905
@danielandreverkland9905 9 лет назад
+HoodedMushroom I like Connor too but I`m sorry. That`s not possible, Connor`s story ends in 1783 at the start of his 30s. And the story in Syndicate starts in 1868. Which means Connor would be 115 years old during Syndicate. No man on earth has lived that long and it was common back in those times to die at just 60 or younger. Sadly that`s not possible and why would Connor at an old age go to London anyway? It wouldn`t make sense. However, what they could have done was to squeez him to Unity. Because the French Revolution started only six years after Connor`s story ended. However, a possible AC game he can make an entrence to as an old master assassin would be a game set in the Napoleonic Wars. Because they started in 1803 and ended in 1815. (His age would be between 50 and 62 throughout the Napoleonic Wars.) So that`s a possibilty because those wars happened on most sides of the world. What I would do is to place him as one of the main characters next to you as your mentor. That would`ve been awesome my friend and even if he grants you the permission to use his tomahawk in battle, that would`ve been THE bomb! :p
@typicalgymbrah2619

+daniel andre Verkland bro I know you went on a long explanation on how he can't be the main protagonist anymore but let me give a nice and quick analysis: The producers of the game made Black Flag which is suppose to come before AC3(Edward is Connor's grandfather). Ubisoft can always create a game that goes before the age they last worked on:)
@danielandreverkland9905
@danielandreverkland9905 9 лет назад
Archie Malapit Yeah but how is that supposed to happen? In AC3, we followed Connor`s story all the way from his childhood and the story there followed his entire life. If Ubisoft are supposed to make an AC game that takes place before the events of AC3 with Connor as the main character, they`ll have to make a game with him as a six year old or younger and how is that supposed to happen? Otherwise they`ll have to rewrite the story in AC3. However, if you read my comment. I actually suggested that we could see an older Connor in an AC game set in the Napolic wars. The reason why it worked for Black Flag was because that game was placed in a different setting, a different time with a new main character.
@BosSupes
@BosSupes 8 лет назад
+daniel andre Verkland Youre an idiot lol thats not what he was saying, he meant before syndicate but after 3
@danielandreverkland9905
@danielandreverkland9905 8 лет назад
Gaming King Right, I said that in my second comment, my bad. But I suggested in my first comment that he could appear in an AC game if they made one set in the Napoleonic Wars, because that takes place between AC3 and AC Syndicate. That would be so perfect because from the start of those wars would Connor`s age start at 50 and by Napoleon`s downfall would he be 62, so maybe we can see him again, as an older and wiser Connor? In addition like I said, since he`s older by that time, it would be so cool if he were to be your mentor and guide you on the path to become an full-fledged master assassin, and it would be so cool if he gave ya his tomahawk as a symbol of your new rank once you become an master assassin. Now that would be awesome.

Connor is a fine character imo. I only see people complain about him because he came after the flirtatious Ezio and so they started to whine and bitch that Connor was not like him. I wish to see more from Connor and see his character evolve and develop because he was interesting (no not "bland" or "dull" or whatever critical hipster word) but because of the crybabies ubisoft won't return to him. There are other that are stoic like Connor such as Batman or Geralt of Rivia and yet they are not labelled as dull or bland.

The problem was the way the game's story was presented. Most of the main story was rather dull and I found myself more immersed with the gameplay of the homestead missions, which, gave Conner better character development imo. The price didn't help the game much either. This was something that stopped me from buying this game until years later. I bought the game for about 10 bucks and had plenty of fun with it. Price tags and expectations really do make a hell-of-a- lot of a difference.
@forastero54321
@forastero54321 7 лет назад
STAND_UP CREATIVITY These are my reasons why I have some issues with the main game, and why I thought the main story was kinda dull: --THE TRAILERS WHERE MISLEADING. By this I mean to say that I was expecting a few fights like in the trailers -- fighting along side George Washington and the blue coats in an all out massacre -- I don't mean to say that I wanted many segments like these, just a few. It would have been a great way to have a small break from the stealth element every now and then. --CONNOR WAS DULL. I'm not just saying this one because I am some sort of Ezio fanboy. Just look at batman; he is always serious and brooding, but still manages to look cool, and Connor can't do the same. I believe a lot of this had to do with how the developers made Connor's expressions in the game. Also -- although I understand that Connor English wasn't his first language -- his awkward speech's didn't help either. Also, the fact that --CONNOR WAS A ROBOT. Something that really bugged me was the fact that Connor was letting everyone boss him around through the majority of the game. He was just a "yes man," doing everything the blue coats told him to do instead of what an assassin was supposed to do. I understand that he needed thier help to get close to his targets, but this is one of the major things that bugged me about the game. When the game was being advertised, we were lead to believe that Connor was the mastermind behind the blue coats victories. Yes, he played a big part in the revolution and their victory, but only cause he did what he was being told. When ac3 was being advertised, it was shown as if Connor was the one leading the revolution and inspiring the blue coats. Instead, what we got was a man being used like a machine -- an emotionaless robot -- which made me feel more like a soldier rather than an assassin -- just like how you feel more like a pirate rather than an assassin in ac4. All in all, I did enjoy the game since I got it after the price dropped. And like I said before; I enjoyed the homestead missions more than the main story itself. They were a lot of fun and so were the trinket missions -- excluding finding the trinkets, of course lol. I also did enjoy the camp fire story missions as well.
@forastero54321
@forastero54321 7 лет назад
STAND_UP CREATIVITY like I said, that was just my opinion. I don't hate Connor -- I thought he was the most badass in terms of fighting. It's just that the devs screwed him up which is why the majority of people think Connor is boring. Also, I am not complaining cause Connor had help, I'm complaining cause he felt more like a sidekick than a main character through most of the main game -- up until he cuts his ties with Washington.

Charles Lee: "Even those men you sought to save have turned their backs on you. Yet, you resist, why?" Connor: "Because no one else will." Best answer ever. That should be the reason to fight the wrong instead of saying "why me?" The Assassin's Creed series is so full of hope and goodness. It makes me want to live, and fight for the weak. Altair taught me to be wise and take decisions after giving them some thought. Ezio taught me to enjoy life and at the same time protect my family and fight against evil. Connor taught me to fight against the wrong, no matter how lonely you are, and even if there is no one on your side, you can win. Edward again, like Ezio, taught me to enjoy life and even if there's no one standing beside you, there's still time and there's still hope. Even if your ways are bad, if you're doing good on the whole, it matters.

But Connor didn't win in the end.. His people were forced out by the people he helped, the Patriots seeked to kill him, His village was inhabited by Frontiersmen, all of his Friends and Family are dead, and even though he removed the Templars he has nothing left... AC3 tells you that sometimes Freedom isn't worth it. That's why the Templars (With the exceptions of Hickey and Lee) were right about everything they said in their final words / memory corridors. If you play the full battle against Haytham, he and Connor will have an argument in which Haytham warns Connor about his Naivety and how the distrust among the colonists will eventually cause Civil War. *I over analyze this game a lot, but it's still my favourite AC*
@8Aetos

Medina Gaming Connor was not meant to win in that way. His people's purpose was to protect the land and Connor was just a conduit through time. His sacrifice enabled Desmond in the present to save the earth. Even though Connor did not win, he did not give up which means a lot and the DLC continues the story where his villagers are back and his mother is alive! Great game series. The best ever.

I don't care if all Ezio fanboys in the world will rape me for this statement, but I love AC 3 the most among the franchise (and I had played ALL of them 100%, except for Black Flag). I really enjoyed the game from a Native American's perspective, someone who is fighting against a system he does not fully understand. And the Templars in this game were amazing as well - each one of them had their own motives and their own ideals, they weren't just some typical, corrupted bad guys like in previous AC games. At times, I even doubted whether the things Connor did even made him a good guy. The decisions in this game are almost never black and white.

I don't mind connor like most people did...he was naive and believed he could save everyone...leading to him saving no-one the only thing I disliked about him was that he would reach a templar after stabbing countless soldiers...then he would regret killing the templar despite the fact he knows fine well they are evil and doesnt give a seconds notice of the soldiers he murdered also his character was kinda dull in comparison to haytham...and haythams philosophy seemed a lot more reasonable and the game itself was pretty dull, while the renaissance was all sex and violence, the american revolution was some old men signing a piece of paper and throwing tea into the sea.

Josh A, He only regretted killing them because what they would say to Connor isn't that far off from what Achilles is telling him, & the assassins they have somewhat the same goals as him & he wonders if he is fighting for the right side, because Haytham would probably help him save his people if he did side with the Templars and asked him, it's kind of hard when you don't have a mentor with you a lot Since Connor wasn't really at the homestead to much so every time he would return Achilles would overload him with more information about the creed and who to kill & who to talk with next, & the Templars he does kill explain thing from their perspective , but Connor still fights for the assassins because it is right even though he doesn't fully understand the creed yet, which is why he is the best assassin to me He is also a master assassin by the end of the game as well in case you didn't know Sorry if I kind of repeated my self in the paragraph

I agree with your view of the templars. I hope to see in rogue what they're really like, because neither the Assassin's nor the Templars are perfect. Connor had one of the most depressing story/life in video game history. So many people didn't understand Connor. He was fighting the templars alone. His family burnt down to ashes. He has no choice but to kill his best friend to avoid a conflict against the rebels and his people. The colonists he turns to for hope back stabs him. What makes it worse is that these types of stories happened to most of the Natives back in the day. so sad.

Nothing really happens in his life after the events of AC3. He simply got married to a woman and had kids but his wife ended up leaving him and she took the kids in the process. He basically died alone afterwards. Nothing much to explore in his story though it will be nice seeing him as a master assassin or something.
@Sithkittye

Hunter A. Connor did continue his assassin's duties and after a while, trained Eseosa.(which could be a game featuring Connor as a side character.)I'm sure plenty of things could've happened during all his years as he was a big and influential member soon after the events of Assassin's Creed 3. About his wife and kids, I'm not sure I believe that. This little bit of information was found in an Abstergo handbook, if I'm not mistaken and they referred to Connor as a murderer. Assassins wouldn't do this but Templars would, as Abstergo is also the Templars. They're trying to spread propaganda about the assassins and any known important members. At this point, I don't trust any information that was found at Abstergo that wasn't written by an assassin.

I hear you, I do not really understand why people hate Connor. I guess people tend to only like characters that are superficial, charismatic & loud. I like Edward Kenway too, he was fun to play as.. but at times I felt that he is just a typical pirate, a Jack Sparrow wannabe (can I just say he is a BLOODY BASTARD). Connor is more heroic, headstrong & stoic & he did have some fun moments in the game (I really enjoyed the Haytham sequences). What is wrong with having a 'moral compass' ?.. I guess certain people like characters with artificial personalities
@eahklx1008
@eahklx1008 10 лет назад
I couldn't agree more. Connor is more relatable, more realistic. Not everybody is loud, over-confident, and charismatic. The reason i didn't like Edward is that he's a mix of Jack Sparow and Ezio. He's funny, but not as heroic as Connor. And when people say that Connor doesn't have emotions or a personality, i wonder if they played the game. He has emotional moments, funny and awkward ones. What makes him a great character is his depth and personality.
@laysekai4356
@laysekai4356 10 лет назад
Claudia Auditore Da Firenze I fully agree with you. I have visited many youtube channels, it is the same story everywhere. I'm always finding people posting hateful comments about Connor. They say things like he is too bland, dull, ignorant & uninteresting. Out anger, I would always reply & give them a piece of my mind. I'm kinda getting sick & tired of their BULL $H!T. Their perspectives are so limited, it is laughable. Personally, I think it is really refreshing to find a character that is humble, down-to-earth, modest & noble as Connor, as opposed to the usual loud mouthed, cocky & over-confident type of characters.
@erico1st
@erico1st 10 лет назад
Woah there, now I can see why Edward would be "man of money", as that's literally what he's saying during the first 5 or so years as a pirate, only THEN realising the Assassin ideology is actually not so bad. But Altaïr made the foundations for the Creed, and did/experienced many more incredible things in his 92 years. And Ezio, while indeed starting out to seek only revenge (in AC2), later does everything in his power to stop the Templars by chasing after Rodrigo and later Cesare Borgia (late-AC2 + ACB), while rebuilding the entire Brotherhood as he goes about this impossible task. He then ends his Assassin life by trying to find answers, find clarity. And his motivation is just admirable to me "Should anything happen to me Claudia [his sister, to whom he's writing this in a letter].. should my skills fail me, or my ambition lead me astray, do not seek retribution or revenge in my memory. But fight to continue the search for truth, so that all may benefit. My story is one of many thousands, and the world will not suffer if it ends too soon." That said, I completely agree with Connor being underappreciated into oblivion. He was an epic man.

People said that Connor was lame, no sense of humour at all, too naive, but i have to disagree because, quite the contrary, I think, the character was appropriately written, down to the fact that his mother died in front of him at a such young age, his father is a templar, and plus the fact he was raised as a native-american, so you cant be expecting an italian-charming personality like Ezio. This guy also started killing people at a much younger age than Ezio, so he like a kinda born-to-kill type of guy, the most brutal assassin in my opinion, so im saying his upbringing actually affected him, moreover i think Ezio character is kinda too cliche, so actually its not a totally bad thing, Connor's character suits the story, because he is loyal, humble, and he had conviction of his deeds, so you cant only judge him solely on his personality.

Connor had every right to be pissed all of the time. He witnessed his mother's death, his village being burnt and the premonition that his people would die at the hands of outsiders. That is why he mistrusted everyone even the people he aided. But that doesn't mean he is a lifeless protagonist. Everyone who bothered to do the Homestead Missions would see otherwise, that he had the urge to help his newfoumd people in the homestead, and be with them in their worst and best times. My complaint is Ubisoft did not bother to add this side of his character to the main story.

For a lot of people Ezio or Altiar are their favorite assassins but for me it has always been Conor the way he was potrayed as one man wrecking crew was so cool to me P.S. I also come from a former British colony so I also could connect to fighting of the British occupation storyline

I loved Conner's journey so much. he goes from a boy of a native village, to a full grown master assassin fighting for a whole country. Such inspiration!
