Revelations is my favorite in the Ezio Trilogy in terms of Gameplay. The Parkour with hookblade and ziplines was at it's peak in this game, the combat became more brutal and stealth was fun with varieties of bombs. I even like the Tower Defense mini game and the Assassin Recruit system was better in this game than Brotherhood imo. AC 3 is very different from Revelations that comparing them feels weird.

I really enjoyed Assassins Creed 3 and having replayed the Remastered version too I fell in love with it again. The new accepts of the game such as hunting and running through the trees was such breath of fresh air. Revelations while good just could capture the magic of Assassins Creed 2 and the brilliant Brotherhood, it brought nothing new to the game as a whole.. it’s a tough call between the both really but I think A/C 3 just edges it for me
I'm replaying AC3 once again and the peg leg missions for the first time, im surprised by how good they are, especially the fort wolcott one. Reminds me of the romulus tombs from brotherhood
@@shinobimsh5687 Bro so true. I just did not enjoy exploring and roaming around in Revelations. I also didn't particularly like the map, I preferred Rome in Brotherhood and the cities in AC2.
@@bobsnow1620 I really enjoyed black flag but I think ac 2 was better because It has a better protagonist and story than black flag. Black flag is for sure top 5 ac games tho.
My opinion of 4 is definitely the unpopular one. I managed to beat the game once and I would say I enjoyed it alright. But I've never been able to replay it because I get bored with it so easily. The ship combat stuff just didn't do anything for me personally. It isn't why I played these games. I love the Urban exploration of the earlier titles and Unity. 1-Revelations and then Unity are my top 5 in the series for sure.
Imo Revelations is a masterpiece while AC 3 is good revelations' story, the setpieces, graphics for the time it released, the emotional elements are just one of the best in any AC game and its soundtrack is one of the best in any game.... Edit: Sad to see some people saying "this game isn't that good" but ok I respect their opinions :)
Ac 3 will always be my fav ac game , connors story is tragic and so deep , I really got immersed in his story , he has a set goal and although he gets called emotionless , it’s clear that he has his motives and sticks to them
Ac3 is also my favourite Connor is amazing and alot of nostalgia is with ac3 with it being my first game i never saw why people hate it the story is great as well
I'm currently playing AC Revelations and not only i'm having a blast playing it but i like to walk through the streets on night time, just a beautiful game
As I said before, I really hope to see you do a versus between Revelations and Unity. I think it’d be such a great and interesting comparison, that I’d be extremely interested in seeing you do a breakdown between. Since they both did interesting changes with Parkour, both have some of the most prominent love interests, both did some changes with missions with Ezio having two different types of main mission story lines you can choose which to do first until they completely connect, and Unity having multiple ways in how you can complete the mission. Then you also get really cool contrast to use when comparing with Ezio an extremely experienced Assassin and a new Assassin with Arno. They also both go to different time periods besides the main one with Revelations seeing Altair’s memories and Unity having the intro and rift missions. There’s so many interesting ways they go about generally similar concepts to handle but do it in such vastly different ways I think it’d be so fun and interesting to see you cover those 2 games in a versus.
This topic is so hard to decide tho. I love both games, the end of the journey of Ezio and the revelation of Altair, hits very hard. But i do love Connor and the rise of the Assassins in the American Colonies. I really can't decide. Besides, two differents protagonist. I think depends of every individual, if you preffer and extroverd, you go with Ezio and if you preffer a character completly stoic you can go with Connor. For me, it's a tide. And i do have a personal top 5 of AC games (with no specific order). 1. AC2. 2. AC Origins. 3. AC 3. 4. AC Revelations. 5. AC Unity. Great video my friend!
I personally prefer AC3 (it's my favorite Assassin's Creed game), but Revelations is definitely in my top 5 AC games, and is also my favorite of the Ezio trilogy in EVERY aspect.
When I was a child, I used to think that Brotherhood and Revelations were AC3's DLC😂 I agree with you on several points but I would give it to AC3 (not the remastered) more points because it added new and fun mechanics and also a new playstyle that was more refreshing that the recycling for a second time that was the mechanics of Revelations
Really? I always felt like the side content in AC3 was kind of unfinished. The assassination contracts are just a bunch of NPCs with muskets. The underground exploration is fun the first time you do it, but I had to really force myself to unlock all the destinations. Even the Naval Contracts suffer from some of the most retarded optional objectives EVER!
@@jirkazalabak1514 I like hunting, I enjoy the Peg Leg missions, the forts are fun, I enjoy the naval in AC3 (especially the "main" missions where you're going after Biddle), the minigames are fun and make the world feel more "lived in", the Homestead missions are great, I enjoyed using the crafting/trading system to make money, getting to recruit Assassins and gain new abilities through the liberation missions is great, etc. AC3 has plenty of great side content. Revelations just can't really compare.

Yes! I pretty much agree with everything. The parkour and the stealth did take a back seat in ac3. You can still do it but I remember having a lot more fun and opportunities with it in revelations. The combat felt like it was missing something in ac3 until I got to learn some of it's elements and unlocked more pistols and second holster. The desire or need to use smoke bombs in ac3 is seldom there which is a shame. Maybe it's because pistols are too much fun, or maybe it's because the selection wheel is not as snappy to use for a quick swap. I think revelation's bomb crafting mechanic were genius. I do enjoy ac3's chain kills and use of benches, barrels and other surroundings in combat when brawling and the grabbing an opponent to use as a shield against a firing squad. In many ways, revelations is a better game play experience, however ac3 redeems itself with excellent open worlds, a deeper historical narrative (with a lot of source material for you to get stuck into) and a wicked set of side missions doing battle on the open seas in the privateer section.
Story wise they are on par for me..revelations has the edge tho...but still revalations is so nostalgic..it brings back memories and i cry when ever i see ezio retire from his assasin life...ac3 is also good showing the bloodlust for revenge in connor and it also shows both sides goods and bads..rogue did it the worst cuz they just flipped their roles in it..assassins bad templars good. Ac3 showed that with freedom comes chaos and the templars want order.. Final Verdict:- I like them both. PS:- I have hundred percent completed all the AC games. I sometimes dont even finish the story in some games that are boring but AC was something special..It was the first game I bought as i was born in the 2000's.
You didn't talk about the strategic gameplay when you do the wars on AC revelations, which i remember that i liked. I am playing AC 3 remastered now, it feels good, i actually thought that I wouldn't like it, but damn it feels fresh, and it handles better now than before.
I haven’t played AC Revelations but AC3 is actually really good despite it being ranked so low. Really love its Combat. But for a Remastered they could have done more.
Connor had alot of potential, but they floundered giving him a full arc. Of all the characters besides Byrak, he is one i would have loved to see a full arc on. I actually liked how the Assassins recruit missions were set up, the homestead missions and would have loved to see the design fleshed out even more in a later game. My idea s-tier game would be one with a mixture of Revelations and 3 assassin recruit missions where your recruits are actually characters you get to know and don't permanently die. The tree parkour as well is actually alot of fun. I also found nyself on multiple occassions just walking through the cities and enjoying exploring the areas on foot. I love Revelations. Was a great end to Ezios story, but it really didn't feel like a full game and i didn't care about the tower defenses. It was a smart move bundling it with the rest of Ezio's games, because by itself, it would not have been worth it. Constanople, while small is one of the funnest areas to parkour through in the series to me. The buildings are close together and the hookblade is satisfying to use. For both games, i hate optional adjectives, slightly more in 3. I can't think a game in the series with optional objectives i like, besides those that require no detection, because I'm a stealth player. Both games also were prone to crashing on my ps4 once in awhile.
one thing that always bugged me about the ezio trilogy games is the running assassination, its like the guards just fall slowly unbale to catch up with the kill animation.
This was the most biased review I've ever seen. I am genuinely astonished as to how someone can think that revelations have good combat and stealth. It's very very basic and uninspired. It's easier to kill a bunch of guards than run away or stealth. Its exactly the same for AC3 but at least the stealth is somewhat improved with bushes, bows etc. The combat was also improved in AC3 but its still not that good. Even so, its still miles better than Revelations awful combat.
Although I agree with you on those points, I still definitely prefer ACIII. The stealth was fine for me (I really liked hiding and bushed and behind corners easily) and the combat is by far my favorite ground combat in the series, with the world being really immersive. I didn't enjoy Revelations' world very much and even though the story was amazing, I play games more for the fun than the story, and I didn't like Revelations' combat very much, which really brought the game down for me. Revelations, besides the phenomenal story, felt extremely forgettable to me while III brought awesome new stuff to the table that made the gameplay a lot more fun and the world a lot more immersive. Also the homestead missions were the best side quests in the series.
@@WadeWalker22 Yeah, I'm playing a game instead of watching a movie/show for a reason. Although some great story-based games exist, the story is rather secondary to the gameplay in the AC games.

Something I find interesting about the trilogy as people complain about the differences in color palet in the ezio trilogy I think it works with the story for example: Ac 2:Dark and Cold environments representing Ezio's rage, hatred and dark mindset Ac BHood- Rome colorful and bright representing Ezio's youth and him at the height and top of his game. AC Rev- Grey, browns and flat colors- Ezio in his old age, worn and tired of the assassin life ready to let go and rest.
Assassins creed 3 was good for the new parkour system but you can’t beat the ezio games so IMO revelations was the better game ( by far better than the RPG games too )
Maybe they won in history, but you even need to count the re playability, the map, the graphics (some times), how live is the world, what things you can do in the world, etc. Comparing them like if they were launched at the same day for know which game is better

All of the Ezio simps ruined it for me. Although I did like revelations. I wouldn't really call Connor stupid I would say naive for sure. I think that's part of what made Connor way more relatable is his mistakes that he had to learn from and persevere through all of it.
I think the Templars seem like they're right in AC3 is because Connor was naive and the brotherhood is nonexistent. It's easy to make yourself sound good when there is nobody else there to say otherwise. If you swapped Connor with Ezio or Altair, I think that rooftop argument with Haytham would have gone in a completely different direction.
Brotherhood was my favorite for the nostalgia, but after getting the Ezio collection recently and playing through Revelations, I think it might be my new fav AC game. Brotherhood will always have a special place that no other can replace though. But goddamn is Revelations amazing. The bombs make stealth so much more interesting, and plotting a way through the den area to find the captain is so much more fun. So many new ways to do your assassin thing.
I honestly reckon ac3 wasn’t received as well as I should’ve been because it came right after Ezio. The Ezio fanboys were so pissed that he wasn’t in 3 that everyone hated Connor because he didn’t have the charisma that Ezio did. People couldn’t see through it, it pisses me off, people need to understand that not every AC protagonist has to have a personality like Ezio.
When I saw this, even though I prefer Ac3, I was like, this is even fair to ac3 fans. Ezio is the legend. While I love Connor I don’t think he could amount to ezio.
Am I the only one that thinks Constantinople is rely awesome. I like the brownish filter the city has and it feels pretty vibrant. It may not be as colorful as Venezia for example but it's really beautiful.
I understand why the points went to each game, except the Open World. AC 3 world felt really good to me, except some of the frontier areas, but the cities felt nice to walk around in and parkour. Constantinople felt really bland and lifeless to me. Was nothing but brown and gray, where 3 wasn't very colorful but still felt more alive and colorful than Constantinople imo
about the open world or design i hear that argument a lot but assassin's creed back then was not just a game it was art and everything was supposed to line up, AC3 was supposed to be a new country in making and guess what? new countries don't have buildings..
Im currently replaying every single game in release order and once I finished Revelations and started 3 I got a little sad because It just wasn't as good as I remember it being, I found myself disappointed with alot of aspects with it after going to it within an hour of finishing Revelations, I'm making a personal tier list for all the games and so far 3 is at the bottom of the list.
I like ac 3 better cuz it feels fresh wit the parkour not need to hold down the A or X button to sprint. I also like the combat wit the Tamahawk and the hidden blade turning into a knife. The fact that u get to see both sides of the Assassin and Templar war wit Haythem and Conner gave a lot diversity. Plus I also love the fact that Connor was a Native American Assassin

No idea if anyone will even see this, but while yes, you don't get your robes or blades for a while in AC3, Ezio doesn't even become an assassin until quite a way through AC2, he just gets his father's robes very early. Connor actually earns his robes before Ezio does. Ezio doesn't even get his own robes until Altair's, or his Master Assassin robes in Brotherhood although that's not super fair to say since Connor had Achilles' robes. Not undermining Ezio in any way, he's amazing, but Connor not earning his robes for a while shouldn't be a point. Although the action of just having robes, then yeah, sure, Ezio wins that. They did the same with Edward.
What I want is the 3rd and final man to be next to Altair and Ezio on that leap of faith planks someone to be worthy of being the last 3rd assassin there
the reason why i prefer ac3 besides being my personal favorite, was the side content. which was pretty sad if you compare revelation side quests after what we got in brotherhood. the only good side quests in Rev where the assassin ones and the bombs, the bomb ones are pretty much glorified tutorials of all possible combinations and the recruits stories i think ac 3 did better. besides that, capitan kidds treasure, the homestead missions even the smaller ones like the hunters club, fight club and the fake legends seekers. One thing I miss from the ezio games was that every side content was repeatable and the games after that only let you redoo the big ones
It's funny how everyone hates on Connor when they love Captain America or Wonder Woman. I've been making a comparison between Connor and Wonder Woman's character from her first film for a while now, and honestly, I think I should compare him to Captain America as well. It just works. They're all presented the same way. They all have their own ideas of what's right and wrong, things that they decided for themselves. They all are betrayed by people or things they trust, or by their own beliefs, but they continue onward even with all that they've lost. They don't joke much, and they make their beliefs known. None of them are naive, or if they are, they then switch over to optimism, even if it seems misplaced. They prefer to have hope over being pessimistic all the time. And I think Connor might do that the best.
Both game are my favorite but compared to revelation , revelation is the best because this game have story(pain of Assassin's life) and main thing is Ezio have become ultra legend in this game
Okay so yes we did the continued story of ezio, what about the other protagonist? Connor? And the other assassins. These characters need to built upon multiple games, or revisited in the new ones. Use nostalgia to your advantage ubiosft. All I'm saying is we deserve to grow with the characters not to just keep getting new characters withought fleshed out stories.
theres so much more to ac3 than that tho, like the naval missions and the homestead. I found it very hard to ever do any side quests in revelations because theyre just like ac2 and brotherhood but ac3 has a much better way of embracing the era of the american revolution. It also makes the assassin recruits more important than just some stranger on the street and that makes defeating the templars more than just the main story missions, you have to erase their influence in the cities also
I've got to give the point to AC3 here. Not because I like it more - I enjoy all of the Ezio games perhaps more than any other entry in the saga - but the fact is that, gameplay-wise, Revelations was built on a really, REALLY safe basis. Everything but the bomb crafting was basically already there, while AC3 had to more or less reinvent the entire series under every single aspect, so, although I enjoy it less than Revelations as an individual game, I can't consider an extended DLC on the same level as a truly new and independent game. Then of course this argument is valid for the gameplay aspect only, so I agree with giving the point to Revelations for the story.

i loved the political storytelling in ac revelations the struggle between sulliman salim and achmed was sick as fuck and wouldve loved to see it expanded on more
Biggest problem with AC3 was the music during combat, sounded like the walking dead intro and I chose combat so much that strath was just to avoid the music or turn it off in settings
