Now that all three "Chronicles" Assassin's Creed games are out, we thought it'd be a good idea to compile them together for you guys.
China takes place after the film Assassin's Creed: Embers. The game takes place in 1526 China and focuses on the female protagonist, Shao Jun. After being trained by legendary Italian assassin Ezio Auditore da Firenze, Shao Jun returns to her homeland to exact vengeance against the Templar group Eight Tigers, who wiped out the Chinese brotherhood. Shao Jun's quest took her through Macau, Nan'an, the Forbidden City and the Great Wall, as she killed the Tigers one by one and finally assassinating the final target, Zhang Yong. Years later, Shao Jun, who became an Assassin Mentor and had rebuilt the brotherhood, plotted the assassination of Jiajing Emperor by sending him an elixir of life.
India takes place in 1841 India and features the protagonist, Arbaaz Mir. While the Sikh Empire was at war with the East India Company. When a Master Templar arrives with a mysterious item that used to belong to the Assassin Order, Mir must discover why he has come, steal back the item, and protect his friends and his lover. Some of the weapons introduced are a typical Mughal and Sikh sword resembling an Aruval, Urumi, a concealed Katara with Bagh naka, a Chakram, smoke bombs for stealth and distraction. A Slingshot with rock pellets has also been added.
Russia takes place in 1918 Russia during the aftermath of the October Revolution and features protagonist Nikolai Orelov. Orelov wants to leave with his family, but is required to perform one last mission for the Assassin Order: infiltrate the house where the Tsar's family is being held by the Bolsheviks, and steal an artifact that has been fought over by Assassins and Templars for centuries. Along the way, he witnesses the massacre of the Tsar Nicholas II's children, but manages to save the princess, Anastasia. He must escape the Templars while protecting the artifact and Anastasia.

Nikolai Orelov is the great-grandfather of Daniel Cross and Sergei is the grandfather of Galina Voronina. The ancestors' actions are roughly reflected in that of their descendants: Daniel nearly caused the complete downfall of the modern-day Assassin through betrayal while Galina is one of the senior Assassins trying to rebuild what Daniel almost destroyed. It's interesting how both betrayal and loyalty can be done with the best of intentions.

I 1000% agree. I am glad that you noted the sharp dissonance in the voices, as the Chinese assassin and characters should have a notably Chinese voice or accent imo. Same with all the other voices representing people of the lands being shown in these artful stylized manga cum semi-vignettes cum video games.

The outfit of the Chinese assassins is sleek and amazing, the Indians give a jungle vibe which is straight exotic, the Russians give a bleak but intriguing vibe, they are all definitely worth giving some love

Henry Green's name was originally Jayadeep Mir. As a novice assassin, he failed his first solo assassination was to be executed for compromising the Brotherhood. Instead, he was banished to England where he eventually became a network supporter for Assassin activities in London.

Why UBISOFT ? WHY ? You could have made an incredible game with the China chronicles.... if it wasn't a 2,5 D scroller... it was the last piece in the puzzle with Ezio and you just cut it apart... WHY ?! You could have done SO MUCH MORE ! NO matter... The story is still good though...

Athlete 101 Power!! Snipers back in that era weren’t the easiest I see your point tho, but this war was fought very differently, I don’t think he himself would be able to adapt quickly enough to an industrial era, he’d die pretty quickly. But it is Ezio and he could surprise us

2.5D is either 3D models rendered with ortographic camera, or 2D sprites rendered with perspective camera and parallax horizontal movement of background sprites. In these games the latter is implemented, hence the artwork makes an illusion of 3D even though it's hand drawn in 2D.

cloudykai you wouldn't be on the battlefield in either of them imagine if you will being an assassin recruit who has to rank to Mentor your targets are the Templars at that time who did play a role in killing innocent people or whom let innocent people die because of their choices sure WW1 had somewhat automatic weapons but they were always jamming in mud and such tanks were slow and shit back then the artillery was the best thing to come out of WW1 but you wouldn't face a tank or artillery in this time line you'd be in cities where your targets are you'd face squads of rifle men that's it WW2 you'd have to travel around Europe and where you go there's a Templar death or uprising that affects how you play like in Russia with their uprising to communism would be a successful Templar uprising but you as the new assassin recruit will need to focus on the targets you have sure we could be in the trenches of WW1 to make the game interesting fun and make it violent and fast paced for those who rely on their skill of speed and cover and then when you breach a trench you can take over that area after all trenches have fallen and build an assassins borough to battle the Templar's So no a WW1 or 2 setting wouldn't harm the franchise of done correctly it would make it more about skill in stealth and fighting and finding cover than any game now and to me that's what this franchise needs is a game where we have limitless options and have to be very stealthy while on mission and off

A small nitpick: The game set in Russia has you killing NKVD soldiers and officers, but NKVD will only be formed in 1934, at the time of the Civil War the organization that was performing the same duties was called VChK (All-Russian Emergency Comittee) or simply Cheka, that existed from 1917 to 1922

For a platform type of game the graphics are great! However, I was a bit sad and confused as to why they didn't make the story of Shao Jun into a full on back to basics game since it shows the legacy of Ezio Auditore da Firenze. And as to why they changed the voice actress. Then I got even sadder that they didn't make the story of Arbaaz Mir into a full on game or at least a DLC for “Assassin's Creed: Syndicate” since they are linked. And in the end the fact that they didn't make the story of Nikolai Orelov and Anastasia into a full on stand alone game when it had so much potential made me tear up. 😢

Wait, wait, wait Anastasia mentioned Assassins in Russia using the name "Narodnaya Volya" (Will of the People), but in the real history it was a terrorist organization responsible for the murder of Emperor Alexander II, who abolished serfdom in 1861, passed reforms to limit the power of the monarch and was killed just before the vote on the Constitution, which would've begun the transformation of the Russian Empire into a constitutional monarchy. It was his assassination that would inspire his son Alexander III to start a violent oppression of all democratic, socialist and communist groups. One of the many people executed was Lenin's brother. And after his son, Nicholas II chose to follow in his pop's footsteps, years of oppression that followed the death of Alexander II led to three violent revolutions in 12 years: 1905 and two in 1917. So, this would mean that it were the assassins, who set the domino effect in place to create one of the worst dictatorships of the 20th century, as well as being responsible for murder of one of the rare reform-oriented Tsars

Now this comment I made is old, so I'll have to re-read it to see if I said something stupid, but regarding what you said: The USSR was different under Stalin and after him. Under Stalin it was a true dictatorship, about as examplary as it gets, and after him it turned into a nepotism-ridden oligarchy of sorts. Neither were a democracy. A sharp example of them not being a democracy is the lack of the right to protest and to strike, which for a country that called itself socialist is pretty capitalist

In the USSR people were lealy allowed to protest and go on strikes, and they did, its Just that their strikes and protests were pro Lenin and pro stalin, as well as some based on ethnic issues especialy in the 90s. Which isnt conbenient for you, thats why you ignore them. According to the mf CIA of all people stalin wasnt a Dictator, he couldnt take any decisions by himself as shown in deapth in Molotovs memoirs. After stalins death the USSR continue being a democracy until gorbachev (rip Bozo) undemocraticaly and illegaly disolved it. The most nespotism you could find in the USSR was getting a car before everyone else and maybe getting some rarer consumet goods. You have no proof of The USSR being an "oligarchy" other than "uga buga brezhnev lots of medals and fancy car". And thats because it wasnt, as usual it was western projection "Sure its bad here, but its worse there". The USSR was ruled from Bottom to top trough soviets (worker councils) where everyone had a say in day to day politics, unlike under capitalism where it all comes down to the ilusion of choice every 4,5,6 years. Dont believe me? Believe the vast majority of ex-soviets who want it back, exluding the neo-nazi baltics of course.

I thought the gsme were pretty good the story although short of course due to game style was still interesting. The heavy focus on stealth was great challenge, honestly each one of these woulf make an amzing full fledged game but we all know that'll nvr happen. Majority us been waiting for Shao Jun game since Embers.
