For Assassin's Creed Unity's final DLC, we travel to China for the first time with a brand new Assassin named Shao Jun. She is the last Assassin in the Chinese Brotherhood, and is out for vengeance on the Templars. The art style is amazing, the mechanics are done well. However, the story does leave a lot to be desired, and the game doesn't always feel like an Assassin's Creed game. There is some great potential here, especially if they can perfect this formula for handheld titles. Overall it's a decent $10 purchase for an Assassin's Creed fan, but I would not recommend it for people who are not fans of the series. There are much better side scrollers out there that provide more exciting gameplay and storytelling.

It's a shame they decided to rewrite Shao Jun as being revenge-obsessed. In Embers, she was somewhat sad but still energetic, knowledge-thirsty, a lover of cultures, and highly concerned with rebuilding her Brotherhood.

We added minimal gameplay in this one, since it's a 2D side scroller. But it definitely did need some gameplay to complete the story, so we made sure to add where necessary

Mr Derp Derp It's mediocre at best. We'll see if we can fit it in next week's podcast. I think it'll be fun kinda fun for Assassin's Creed fans, but overall nothing special.

I like the game overall, however idk about you guys but i was a bit dissapointed Shao jun has a british accent :(. I mean i was kinda thinking they would have a anglo-chinese accent but overall the game is nice.

The way I thought of it was that in embers, she had an accent was because she was "speaking" in Italian, in this she's speaking in her native tongue, so she's completely different. Not to say this is right, but this is just what I like to think.

Sadly enought, the story is very, very average, hits on many cliches. 2D is not fit for an AC game, and this proves that. I'm highly disappointed that this setting and this character were wasted on this minigame, I don't think they'll repeat it in a new game, but they certainly should.

What irritates me most about this game is not only do they have British accents and a basic story, but they don't even pronounce the Chinese names properly! Edit: I feel physical anger at how they pronounce Qiu Ju, HOW LITTLE EFFORT DID THEY PUT INTO THIS!?

I like how people flip out that there's british accents in this games. While I agree that its ridiculous, this isn't the first time either. Remember Altair having a normal american voice in ac1?

+The Superior Spider-Mew The thing is, everyone else had an accent. Sure, it is jarring and a lot of the NPCs had scattered accents, but they were there. Also, it was the first game, no precedent was set. At this point we had five games with proper accents (not counting Black Flag because Edward and his ex-wife didn't have proper Welsh accents).

Because they’re speaking English here. Not in game though, they’re supposed to be speaking Chinese. And it may have come across as offensive if they had British’s or American voice actors attempt Chinese accents.

OH GOD WHAT HAPPENED TO THE COOL ACCENTS!? why do they all sound British!? ... and why does it take 17 stabs and slashes to assassinate someone instead of the good old single throat slice? and wait.... that's it? THAT's the story!? it's so basic and unimpressive! "you have disgraced my people! i shall hunt you down and face you in comb-... ok no i'll just stab you in the back, i have won, happy ending!" .... no... this is such a waste you have this entirely new culture and world with so much to offer, practically screaming at you "make me amazing! make me amazing!" and you blew it! i don't care how amazing the gameplay looks, my hype is gone

The Chronicles series follow the same storyline, you should watch/play the other two to find out. And while its not a full 3D game, this is still fun to try to get full scores in the levels

Kappa 1.Movie's of games tell alot about games. Assassin's Creed 3 is a long game and the movie was 4 hours long so AC Chronicoles is short 2. Who cares if it's a different style game it's still shit 3.Who cares if it's a spin off or whatever it's still a game. even Freedom Cry a DLC is better known 4.It doesn't cost $60 like others because it's unpopular and shit 5. Don't matter if it's 2.5 D it's just not 3D

Duh Man 1. This game isn't cut scene heavy 2. You can't judge a game you obviously haven't played. 3. Freedom Cry isn't a Spin-Off, it's a DLC turned Standalone Game, this is a Spin-Off, and like Freedom Cry, it's not $60 4. It doesn't cost $60 because it's not a full open-world game like the others 5. Obviously it's not 3D, glad you at least got that right.
