Assassin's Creed Mirage could be the shot at redemption that Ubisoft desperately needs. Assassin's Creed is one of the best selling and largest gaming franchises of all time, but despite this Ubisoft and AC have found themselves in some trouble. By riding the RPG trend and overly monetising their customers, they have manage to split the fanbase and seperate from the core elements that made Assassin's Creed so great to begin with. Things are looking hopeful with Mirage, being a supposed return to roots, it claims to focus on parkour, stealth and assassinations. Three key things that the RPG games lacked.

Origins was a great game but the RPG style that it adopted wasn’t for everyone, in saying that it’s hands down a top 5 AC game for me. Bayeks one of the best assassins we’ve had.

And it will fail I see so many people getting hyped up for this game, saying it is going to save AC and stuff, I feel kinda bad for them This game is going to be exactly what we saw so far, which is a very basic and very short AC Brotherhood type of game with an AC1 skin I am glad the game comes back to its roots, but it doesn’t mean it has to do just exactly like older games, and add nothing else As much as I like the older games, I can’t really play them anymore, cause the gameplay is too outdated now And Mirage doesn’t seem to be bringing anything new, so if it is basically just playing a very short, early Ac gameplay type of thing, then why not, but in no way it is going to be « redemption » for the series And also, I am betting everything I have right now that no matter how good the game is, if it happens to be good, the next action/rpg AC will sell triple the amount of Mirage, and the action/rpg games will definitely remain the main entries for the series

Those who defend Odyssey & Valhalla are always said about how big is the money that they are making like, that's not even the concern we point out. You see they failed to understand the title itself. "Assassin's Creed" which is Hashashin & their "specific" Creed of what makes them unique and stands out in the first place. And those God of War Odyssey & Valhalla are nowhere close to "Hashashin" element. Heck, even the world that's made in both games doesn't support for that kind activity. You like Spider-Man swinging around in NYC right? Great, now how fun it is if you are a Semi-God Spider-Man who cannot swinging around and cannot do the things what you are called for.

You really want AC to become COD, with the very same thing over and over again? Learn to appreciate a change every once in a while. This is supposed to be a multicultural franchise. It shouldn't be limited to just pure stealth Middle Eastern/Mediterranean settings.

@@DarkoRavens Nah, what I'm trying to say is I wanted AC to be improved, not lost it's identity or it's path. There's a difference. I'm sure we all are wanted the good thing. Hence, why the title called "Assassin's Creed" for reason. It's all about what Assassin is but it's improved. Now imagine Insomniac publish a new game of Spider-Man and in the next game he can use glider, use new tools, etc. That's what I'm talking about. Now imagine how pissed the fan base if Insomniac publish two Spider-Man games but we as a player Ain't a Spider-Man, but some god-like person who can teleport from one enemy to another. I really don't want to argue nor I have energy at all to argue in comment section, just trying to make my point that's all ok, peace out✌

Same with call of duty because I know lots of people who love the new COD games but I personally refuse the play any of them after black oops 1

Personally I prefer the newer games, I'm more of an RPG fan, as a single player games I prefer lengthy games with deep lore, and Valhalla felt like the most fleshed out game in the series to someone who's a completionist. Were as old assassins creed games felt like short mini games with very little to do.

I'll never understand the complaint of modern gamers "the map is too big there is too much" so play longer? There's more to enjoy more to explore, the real world doesn't have interesting things every single street corner. It's more realistic to have these huge wide open worlds, vs these crowded maps of the old AC style that were clearly videogame maps. No real world cities are filled with parkour opportunities the way they put them in the older games so it's just doesn't seem remotely realistic which is a huge negative.

In Valhalla, there was a lot to do, but a lot of it was the same. It was either fighting, collecting resources, or actual mini-games. One problem with having a giant map in the RPG games was that the traversal had been stripped of anything that made it interesting or enjoyable. That made traveling long distances boring. The environment might've been pretty to look at, but I play games for gameplay.

@@anonymous_5016 that seems like a you problem no offense, I found the exploration in Valhalla to be the best in the series because of all the mystery events around the world, the amount of times I was traveling from point a to point b and would run into something naturally happening in the world the same exact way stranger stuff would happen in Rdr2
