These scenes had so much potential to be intriguing for other viewers! It's not that I hated it (it was trying to be original), but it could've been so much better! Who ever thought it was a good idea to remove these scenes should be fired! I don't blame Justin Kurzel! I feel that he wasn't given a chance to express his vision as much. I'm so sorry Octavia. Hopefully, you'll get a proper role.
In the movie, Lara is revealed to be descended from the Spanish Assassin, Maria who is the partner of Aguilar de Neha. This meant that Maria did had a child prior but it was never known if Aguilar is the father. If Aguilar is the father, then Lara and Callum are distant relatives. In a delete scene, Maria also appeared along with other Assassin ancestors of Callum which makes her also an ancestor of Callum. It could also meant at some point, Maria's descendants and Aguilar's descendants merged together and resulted the lineage to Callum.
Every single one of these scenes should have been in the movie. Maybe except the one before the assassination. This is yet another example of companies cutting out vital scenes in order to try and have another story to sell once the movies get released on DVD. But instead of them selling another product and getting more money, they end up just ruining the story.
I enjoyed the Assassin's Creed movie. Contrary to popular opinion, it had a decent story and the actors did an amazing job. However, if they left Lara in the final cut, the story could have been even better.
1:49 dude....Black Flag, AC: China....if they just showed that, fans would’ve screamed! Huge homage to the game and it would’ve proved that they did their homework. Don’t get me wrong this was a good movie in general but with that, it would’ve been great.
These scenes should've been in the movie! Lara as a character could've helped the story a lot. I know the character is traditionally a male but am i the only one who also gets a slight Sage vibe about Lara? Aita could've had a female reincarnation lol.
They should make a netflix serie with 2 seasons so they can bould up the characters and have more time. The movie was decent but felt a bit rushed (excuse my english)
Two of the assassins died before recovering the apple so it should really be four on the rooftop at the end if they went with the origjnal ending unless the one that died while they was fighting was not meant which is why there is five
In one of the scene from this video where Lara went to visit cal in his cell on the other side of the glass, I like how they had a flash moment of where from the opening scene where Maria gave the assassin's blades to Aguilar and I think both of them from when the flash moment end realised who each other was, I think Lara's ancestor was Maria from cal's ancestor time.
Even though I loved the movie as it is.. I really wish this was in the film.. it would’ve built the plot, and she and Michael had good chemistry together and it would’ve been neat to see. Also.. seeing Baptiste in live action is so cool

Honestly I loved the character of Lara, and Octavia Alexandru was perfect for the role! Like even though she only had a few scenes she added so much depth and emotion to the film, it was kinda cold without her. She’s honestly one of my favorite characters
Yeah.. they're talking about these scenes and how well they work, and how good the actress was and how it ties the past and present - yet they cut it all and left a disjointed and shallow movie. Madness. Wrong directors and producers for the film clearly.
I cant help but feel that Lara should have been the main focus of story for cal. Expand upon these side characters and how they initially influenced cal. The side characters would have developed his character and brought so much more weight to his dissent at the end
Yoooo that ending would have made me lose my shit and it would have given some assassin creed fans hope that the modern assassin still can put up a fight like back in the day

Cristian, eu ca intotdeauna, ma simt onorata si-ti multumesc pentru cuvintele si timpul tau alocat mie. Povestea este mult mai complicata... Secventelea acestea nu sunt nici macar 10% din ce am filmat si contributia caracterului in film. Lara a fost un rol complex, frumos, cu o poveste interesanta care ar fi adus un aport extraordinar filmului si rolului principal (Cal), asa cum de fapt noi toti am crezut cand incepusem, si pana in ultima zi, filmarile si toata pregatirea pe parcursul a doi ani... O decizie neasteptata inaintea premierei. "Lara", a avut scene deosebite cu Jeremy Irons, Denis Menochet, Michael K Williams, Callum Turner, Matias Varella, Ariane Labed si multi alti actori si stunt performers. Iar Jean-Julien Baronnet, (Ubisoft Motion Picture CEO) in set a fost extrem de supportive. Am sperat ca intr-o zi va iesi la lumina si "Director's cut"... Justin Kurzel a muncit enorm si "Lara" a crescut sub directiile sale cum nimeni nu-si poate inchipui. Este un om bun si un regizor talentat. Dar cum stim... "Viata bate filmul", si, evident, ramai fara cuvinte. :)
It's a shame that these scenes weren't added. The film really needed a change of pace and further character development. What we got was ultimately a movie more shallow than a bowl of soup. It's shame because I was really hoping for sequel.
I saw this movie in theaters when it was released and thought it was a pretty good movie. Bought the Bluray and watched the behind the scenes and discovered this scrapped storyline. And I kept thinking to myself, this movie would have been so much better if they would have kept this in! Such an interesting character. Definitely another one of those movies where they over thought streamlining the story as they put it, and it honestly backfiring on them. Still like the movie but I will always wish we had a director's cut of this film. 😥
I sortof get there reasoning for cutting that scene with other assassin ancestors but damn that would've made it so much more exciting for the fans I think it would've been a good trade-off
This is why I feel the movie should have been longer... The games themselves are15+ hours long. Since it's like that, an extension for the movie should have been taken into consideration. At least release a director cut!
You can tell justin kurzel is not happy with the way this film turned out. I really liked this movie but i agreed it couldve been much better. Hell the action and fight scenes in this deleted scenes are a lot more clean than the film we got. I think 20 century fox got their hands on the final cut and sort of sliced it up without kurzel or idk
Disney acquired fox and they have elected to discontinue this franchise which is a shame, i would have been curious to see the sequel with fassbender and marion cotillard
Can we get a #ReleaseTheAssassinsCut, all this stuff would of made the movie better i can only imagine what other stuff got cut or redone, i wish this was in the movie
Sequel is definitely needed and they should have kept some of these scenes in, explains a few scenes better because there was definitely too my holes in the movie which did not make sense
There were a few deleted scenes which had lotsa fanservice, one of em Shao Jun was featured as well as someone similar to Ezio and the bleeding effect scene called protect the Apple.
I understand that, often, there are going to be less significant segments of dialogue, or even whole characters, that must be cut from an original production in order to improve the flow of the story or make it fit some arbitrary times constraints. In this case, however (IMHO) the decision-makers have done a serious disservice to this movie. The character, Lara, added a great deal to the storyline that was not established elsewhere in the final release. Also, the elimination of Lara's character from the story necessitated the elimination of the final sequence -- the original ending -- which would have drastically improved this film. I did enjoy this attempt at recreating the "Assassin's Creed" phenomenon and believe they did a good job at retaining the feel of the games. I didn't care for their selection of era -- the Spanish inquisition -- and the idea of the massive, mechanical-arm, Animus thing that slings the real-life subject all around an arena-sized warehouse was a bit overly dramatic and forced theatrics that did not fit into the idea of a subject reliving "DNA memories." All necessary action is taking place in the memories of the subject and it is not required to fling the subject's real-life body all over the place to mimic what he or she is remembering.
Connections through the spirit/soul into the future is where yes age is just a number and connections unexplained are actually there but its not as intimate but still there to have something to protect, all that is vague bur deep down the true picture is to preserve the “vibe” or “frequency” that you know to be good and just and that you/we/they will protect for bette times but always remember that there will be rough times but to look for good, to many people know and reference this yet do not know how to put it into action
Why didn't they add this scenes with the bleeding effect and Lara in the movie, the movie would be so much better with it! (and payed some more tributes to all the Assassins from the games!
I never saw them as in a relationship apparently they cut her because it would of made Sophia and Callum relationship complicated but I don't think it did
Tirar ela do filme foi uma decisão muito errada, eu sei que ela não ia consertar oos vários furos no roteiro, mas pelo menos já dava peso as escolhas e decisões do Callum, fora que colocaria mais peso com a morte da Maria
I'll never understand why they delete things like that, but keep the stupid scenes and storylines. That's just another reason why it wasn't as good as it could have been. The movie was nowhere as good as it could have been to begin with.
Directors and Producers always CUT the scenes that ADD DEPTH to a movie. I would love to find someone who actually produces the ENTIRE FILM as is and see how much more their films are actually appreciated. Shame there are NONE that have the BACKBONE to do that.
