Ubisoft created Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, the eleventh main installment in the series. The game is set in Ancient Greece and will include RPG aspects such as dialogue options and the choice of a male or female protagonist. The player takes control of a Spartan who has been rejected by their family, progressing from outcast mercenary to renowned hero while discovering the truth about their background.
Alexios and Kassandra begin the game as mercenaries and descendants of Spartan king Leonidas I, inheriting his broken spear, which is fashioned into a blade and becomes a weapon that provides the player special powers in combat. The game employs a talent tree structure that enables players to acquire new powers. The three skill trees are "hunter," which increases the player character's archery, "warrior," which emphasizes combat, and "assassin," which focuses on stealth. This replaces the system introduced in Origins, which provided the player with several passive skills.
