The male on male kissing scenes made me cringe, it looked so weird and awkward like two straight men pretending to be gay men trying to avoid kissing. I don’t mind the homosexual storylines, just some effort into smoother natural animations would make it feel less uncomfortable to watch.
@@4rs0n1sm Their loyalty and love is amazing! And that is the reason why I will never use/do online dating apps, hookups, one night stands and random encounters because it ain't worth it...I believe there are beautiful souls out there waiting to find their true soulmates, oh to live in those times...2,000 years ago
This actually is a mostly accurate representation of homosexual relationships in ancient Greece. Spartans forged love for each other on tbe battlefield. ^w^
Different customs in different parts of Greece. The sacred band of Thebes was made up of male warriors who had romantic relations with each other. Athens leaned more towards the practices you describe, I think.
@@pantherstar Well, many of them married women as well. Not all of course, and they may have had other reasons for marrying the women. Assuming they were attracted to those they had relations with, bisexual would probably be a better description.
Morgan yeah! It was kinda weird. Some places required marriage at a certain age (like Sparta) but still allowed outside relationships. Some places only saw marriage as a continuation of the lineage. Greece was pretty weird overall, but really interesting at the same time
I noticed that Alexios's romantic side really shines through in his scenes with Thaletas. The only downside is that there's no happy ending for Alexios in this romance. No matter the outcome, he will always be left heartbroken. :(
So if you play as Kassandra you can romance Kyra and if you play as Alexios you can romance Thaletas. Damn this game is gayer than I thought, amazing edit: I learned that both can romance either Thaletas or Kyra but this game is still gay af
As cheesy as all these romances are they are pretty entertaining and kinda reflect how fast life goes during those war times. Life was short back then no one had time for having 3 year relationships before having a relationship.
I was looking for a comment like that...i totally agree. It's like these people are afraid to put even the slightest of malexmale romance in their game *ahem*. And I wouldn't be mad if I know that Unisoft couldn't handle their animation...But i guess we may give them some time since it's their first try lmao
Nothing is more manly than two men in love professing their love through combat! YASSS! ALso 10:46 lol. "you just gonna stand there or are you gonna finish me off?" love it
@@stevenhiggins3055 True, considering this is their 2nd try at a more RPG-ish AC than the usual AC formula. It's a good RPG in the AC franchise, but it's a bit unfair to compare it to Bioware who have been doing RPGs for decades.
Some of the conversation options are hilarious :D I find it having some comedy vibe, not just this romance, but the game as a whole. And damn Alexios is such a stud!
I'm so pissed bc I accidentally did the conquest before I finished this quest line and it cut me off from being able to finish it so I couldn't romance him :/
I just happened to click on one of these out of plain curiosity... Now my RU-vid recommended list is filled with gay romance scenes from video games....SMH......
🤣 this american bullshit make me dead, i cant imagine sissy spartans warriors, but i can imagine their wifes kill them in front of everyone for such a shitty behavior ! omg that make me me laught, so realistic
FoxyWhite this takes place after Egypt and Altair’s era. Eventually Ezio and others get it. The hidden blade travels the globe and is the symbol of the assassins.
I do not see why he makes fun of the Anthenians, I doubt that the Spartans would dare to shed blood on sacred ground, there are myths about those who perform this kind of sacrilege and it's not pretty.
This is so cute 😭 I wish I had the option of them being together... The conection, the connection between the two is amazing it's better than with kassandra, so sad the end.
This game is so beautiful and with the option for romance you think they'd make the kisses look more real. They only work from far away, up close is a big ole mess.

"Are you just going to stand there or are you going to finish me off?" - classic Triumph the Comic Dog quote if there was ever one
Thaletas is the only romance that makes sense with Alexios they are both strong masculine men but the rest of the male romances just doesn’t fit Alexios type.
Matthew W theirs wasn’t any such thing as gay or straight in this era, men had woman only to have children men frequently had companions in other men, it was seen as not normal if you didn’t. It was encouraged. But the animation I have to say is not as good as it should be it’s rather blocky And your right it’s embarrassing lol
Marcus W yah Greek’s especially. There was more gay in that time period than most of history lol. I do wish that the dialogue options and the romance was done better, but it’s Ubisoft so I can’t say I expected much.
Jordan, I have to step in and clarify a small thing here. There is no such a thing as less or more gay. The percentage is probably the same but what is different is the number of people acting openly gay. However, you have hit the nail in the head. 'Ubisoft' says it all!
Thanks for the video :) I'm a little sad Dragon Age already in 2009 was doing much better but it's already very nice that it's possible and present anyway
Pissed because I agreed with Kyra’s plan that the game just. Decided they had a thing. Even though I literally never used a romance dialogue option on her.
Damn they could've just switched the camera angle to the back of the characters' heads if they didn't have time to do facial animations. 🤣 Still... I approve of these romance options in Odyssey.
It's more like sexuality wasn't really a thing and was highly theorized that there were no such labels back then. It's was more about pure attraction than anything else.
