Assassin's Creed Univers how does this reassure anything? They fucked up and had no explanation so they played dumb. How do the three ancient assassin's before Bayek all wear the logo when it didn't exist until Aya picked up the eagle skull off the beach? That right there proves they fucked up and didn't give two shits about the lore.

amunet assassinated clepatra in 30 BC , meanwhile ACO is in 49 BC. we might see amunet but i don't think we will see the assassination itself. i really like the idea that there is a game that you can interact with a legendary assassin like amunet.

So basically all assassins follow the same ideology but don't directly come from the same organisations. Like when the mentor in Black Flag states that the Assassin's and the Mayans were so similar that they morphed into one big group
@yomomma2457
@yomomma2457 7 лет назад
No. Altair was the one who spread the Brotherhood globally, creating these independent tribes. The implication from this is that the prior Assassins were much more local.
@ascendance8121
@ascendance8121 7 лет назад
It's kinda like this: before The Crusades, the "Assassins" and "Templars" weren't official organizations but more like groups operating under similar ideologies of freedom and order respectively. For example: Brutus, the "Assassin" who killed Julius Ceaser, wasn't really an Assassin at all. Infact, the lore says he was part of a roman organization called the "Circle of Liberals". From what I understand, the main character of Origins, Bayek, is going to be the founder of what we truly see as the Order of Assassins, whom, over time, are going to relocate and reform publicly at Masyaf. Thanks to Altaiirs leadership and the Mongol invasion, the Order disbanded publicly and spread throughout the world, having their first successful foreign guild in Constantinople. Under Ezios leadership, the Assassins practically took over Europe, which allowed them access to the West Indies, where they met up with native tribes like the Mayans who shared their interests. The Templars had the same luck with the Aztecs, the rest is game history.
@yomomma2457
@yomomma2457 7 лет назад
I find it kinda hard to look at the Armor of Brutus and think the Circle wasn't an Assassin organization. i.ytimg.com/vi/LIAJPZ_UMNM/hqdefault.jpg One directly influenced by Bayek and Senu.

Ash denied the existence of rift missions. So unless he was lying by technicality, time jumps won't be a thing beyond in and outside Animus.

I was thinking it could start similar to how Unity started, unless that classifies as a rift.

Not technically. But I'd be very displeased with him if he denied rifts without getting that time jumps is what is really being asked about.

If i may say if you havnt played the game yet, we do get a hidden blade, but it's not one we made. Its one gifted by cleopatra. but we end up making it a might but more advanced and making it a slimmer, solid single blade with a casing. So we know WE didnt invent the blade in origins. Meaning cleopatra must have gotten it from someone who got it from darius. or some such way.

I didn't follow the development of origins at all. I kind of fell off the series after Unity. I picked Origins up on a whim and fell in love with it, and couldn't stop noticing how much it felt like Black Flag. Like it clearly must've been done by the same creative team from Ubisoft, and built off the same engine. And low and behold, Ashraf was the director of this one, too. I remember seeing him in a lot of the dev diaries for Black Flag. Now, I don't want to disregard the thousands of designers that make these massive games, but I feel safe in assuming that most of what he works on at Ubisoft is probably gonna be some of their best. At the very least he knows which projects to associate himself with.

Not too surprising. We already knew the Assassins, at least as an idea, existed since the time of Adam and Eve. It's just the Assassin Brotherhood that we'll learn the origin of. There was likely an order, or many orders before that served the same purpose as the assassins, but not until Origins will it form into what we know. As for the hidden bade, that's curious. Maybe the histories were lost? Maybe the hidden blade design was lost until the time of that persian assassin?

If you held lore this highly, Ash, you wouldn't include all these gameplay elements that needs very creative retconning in order to stay true to that lore. -If Senu is the inspiration for Eagle Vision, that means its abilities is tied to Bayek's version. So why is it so far removed from all precedent? -If Bayek is the first organized Assassin, why is it implied the Roman Brotherhood existed long before the assassination of Cesar, scant years after this game? -If Altair invented all the creative assassination techniques from 2 and onward, why can Bayek seemingly do all of them a millennium before, and with only his Medjay training to guide him? -Why does the Animus suddenly permit multiple choices with regard to character stats and outcomes, when it's supposed to be reading fixed memories with a little bit of wriggle room? -And why does it give the ancestor these blatantly superhuman, reality-bending abilities like controllable arrows, which has no precedent? You talk a good game about respecting the lore, but in reality it seems marketing and gameplay experimentation had the upper hand, with lore being twisted and retconned to fit after the fact.
@GrimPrism
@GrimPrism 7 лет назад
@Yo Momma This is how I believe those all fit into the lore. This is a speculation for the most part from what I have gathered playing and reading the lore. If anything I say is incorrect or you would like to argue please feel free too do so. -So just like how Arno's first Civ blood was potent enough to allowed him to see into the memories of the those he is killing with his blade Bayek's abilities to see through Senu is another of the effects that come from the First Civ bloodline or again like how Arno had community eagle vision this is a more primitive version of that. -This one I actually don't remember when they mention the Roman brotherhood in lore but Ceasar was killed 6 years after this game takes place -So far it doesn't look like Bayek is doing any fancy assassination techniques other than wrapping his arm around them then stabbing in the face ,but if he has any formal training in combat then he would know where vitals would be and target them. If you are referring to ledge grabs,hay bales, blending or jumping assassinations those where all taught to Altair by his mentor. I was not sure what techniques you where referring too ,so clarification would be helpful -For this I believe it is safe to say that the cannon Bayek will be the one who has mastered everything in the skill tree from animal manipulation to being a master combatant as for why he can do all of these in whatever order the player wants it could be from the animus giving the person syncing choices. Like how in all the other games you could choose to buy an upgraded throwing ammo pouch or medicine pouch. However, we always would consider a fully upgraded Ezio to be the cannon one not the one that someone had on a minimalist play through. The Animus now is probably much better equipped to handle more deviation. After all it doesn't seem to even leave a bleeding effect as seen in ACBF&R. -The reality bending arrow does annoy me but it is either chalked up to Animus tinkering or ,what I prefer , Bayek is a bad ass marksmen who almost never missed a shot as he progressed and the controlling the arrow is the animus's way of relaying that to the player instead of maybe a cut scene. I do understand where you are coming from with most of these especially after the movie which had me worried the direction the games would even take. It also is an issue that if someone has not played all the games some of the lore that could help explain this would be missing. Not saying you have not played them all or that you do not know the lore these are just how I think they are going to be explained Sorry this is so long winded and while a good chunk of some of it is speculation from other games I hope it helped with at least few of the question.
@yomomma2457

-Arno reading memories with Eagle Vision isn't as new as you think. It's indeed the best way to explain the white room confession in all the games. Along with every other Assassin ability that lets them know allegiance and intent at a glance. The ability to project it into an animal companion is brand spanking new, however. -Brutus had a mentor that was older than Bayek, for one thing. And they had a name and shit. Plus Brutus Armor is full of eagle symbols. My first thought from that isn't, "these guys just came together last year". But with Bayek busy creating an Egyptian Brotherhood this soon before, that is how it seems. -Altair's Codex specifically tries to explain all the new takedowns AC2 introduced as his personal research. lh4.ggpht.com/_RU8vXW4WLqU/S9UMD4a38UI/AAAAAAAARqU/P_LKCDvSqVc/AssassinsCreedIIGame%202010-04-12%2019-02-41-60.jpg -We've had multiple choice skill upgrades before. What has changed now is this: assets.vg247.com/current//2017/06/assassins_creed_origins_seer_skill_tree_2.jpg We've been told there is a level cap of 40. Yet in this pic a level 21 Bayek has only unlocked a third of the tree. In addition, the specialization skill at the end of each branch can be upgraded multiple times. It doesn't seem like you can buy it all in a single playthrough, which also supports the different playstyles Ash says they want. Pretty standard RPG fare, after all, just not lore-friendly at all. In visual storytelling mediums like video games, what is implied holds great enough weight I would call them lore facts even if not stated explicitly. Now, I have no doubt that this stuff can be explained away with enough creative writing. But that is then a retcon, which per definition doesn't respect that lore implication, but tries to twist it.

I just happened to play through the end of AC1 again today. Guess what I came across that I had completely forgotten about, and which could solve the whole Schrodinger's Bayek problem: The Philadelphia Project. Basically a piece of Eden that can tamper with time to the point of being able to create parallel timelines. If Bayek has it, that would be one way of explaining how he can make different choices on each save file. As long as the story is the same, he would just project a new timeline into the future, where the modern day protagonist has those genetic memories. Hell, it might even explain the arrow bending. Replacing the arrow mid-air with an alternate timeline one that traveled differently. I'm sure I'm giving Ubi way too much credit hoping this is the explanation, though.
@pinmaria6978

Yo Momma oh my gosh!!! that would explain so much, what if Desmond created a new time line with is sacrifice where the sun doesn't burn the earth? and how could the Isu create humans with the apple? maybe the humans are from a time-line where the Isu are humans. Maybe the pieces of eden ( at least the apples ) where time traveling machines
@yomomma2457
@yomomma2457 7 лет назад
Let's not go overboard. Desmond didn't have that piece at the time of AC3, the Templars did. The Isu genetically engineered humans in their image. I'm not aware of the apples being involved other than each was created to work with the other. I doubt the Philadelphia Piece would be such a stand-out if time manipulation was normal for the Apples.

I can tell you one area in which they fucked up. I believe in AC2 it's disclosed that assassins cut off their ring finger because the blade couldn't be used without it. Well, in the game Bayek uses it quite fine with his finger and only loses it later to an accident.
@31192sandro
@31192sandro 6 лет назад
Then you did not pay atention the hidden blade works without sacrificing the ring finger they just lose the finger as a sign of commitmed and what Leonardo did besides fixing the blade was a modification on the blade so ezio could keep his finger

The sect of the Assassins was not born in ancient Egypt. AC1 was somewhat more historically accurate. The founder of the sect was Al-Mualim (the "Old Man of the Mountain") who in reality was the best friend of Persian scholar Omar Khayyam, a man who was both a poet and a mathematician. But the two parted ways. In reality, Al-Mualim was a religious figure, while Omar Khayyam was a skeptic and freethinker. Some of the lines of Al-Mualim are actually from Khayyam; tree of life is not the tree of knowledge, knowledge is sorrow, etc. at the end of AC1. AC1 was the most original game of the series. When you get to the cliffhanger at the end, none of the sequels were able to measure up to AC1 in terms of the story. AC1 also had the best art style by Raphael Lacoste, a great artist who extensively studied nineteenth-century Orientalist art. The sequels were just commercial products.
@voltrainer
@voltrainer 6 лет назад
I disagree with you highly. And while The assassins irl were what you say, these ones are fictitious, and they have alternate origins, just like the alternate history but its still very close to reality. In case of AC1 being the best... it... lacked. in all but the greyness of the story and characters. To say that the series is a commercial product when it's clear ubisoft has had longterm plans from the beginning, well... then you are just stuck in old thinking. But i do respect your opinion on the first game.
