This game could have been a bridge to share that richness, but instead, they chose to focus on a figure like Yasuke, who is barely known and not mentioned in our historical texts, seemingly to serve their own agendas. We are already aware that other cultures have started casting black individuals in roles that are traditionally preserved by other countries, seemingly just for propaganda purposes, such as the mermaid and Cleopatra. Now, it seems our culture is not being spared; they are merely using Yasuke to push a specific narrative, which is simply common sense.

Being the only black person during the Sengoku period makes Yasuke stick out like a sore thumb. -During a mission, Yasuke kills a random person -Gets caught redhanded -Person who caught him would scream for help and of course, point to the ONLY black person -Yasuke now has a target in his back. Remember, Japan's population was and is predominantly made up of...Japanese. Awesome concept, Ubisoft. You totally lost it at this point. I miss the days when you removed a crossbow because it was historically inaccurate for the game's period.

As a half Japanese guy who has been playing AC since i was like 10 yrs old, its so disrespectful for ubisoft to have a black character be the main protagonist in a game set in feudal Japan. Why disrespect east Asian men like this? Every AC game, the protagonist is from the country its set in, but somehow they disrespected Japan and Japanese men by doing this. This is purely a politcal move and its so disappointing.

What's bugging me is that Yasuke is a historical character which goes against every single game before this. I mean we were always fictional characters who worked from the shadows and could fit in comfortably without rewriting history. This is stretching it. In my opinion Yasuke should have been a side character and the Nobunaga samurai should have been a Japanese warrior

Despite my interest in this game, it's worth keeping in mind that Yasuke was NOT an actual samurai, but was kept as a retainer and as nobunaga's "pet". Despite him fighting in a war, he only played a small part of it and when Nobunaga was betrayed, Yasuke was kept as a prisoner after surrendering and sent back to the spot he was traded from in the first place. Again, I'm (cautiously) interested in the game, but of ALL the historical figures in Japanese history you could've had as a playable male lead with the historical evidence to back them up, you instead choose a figure whose records are mostly vague and sparse at best. Ubisoft please do better than this next time. This is me speaking as a black African.

当時の日本文化をよく知らない「私達の目」となる外国人が必要だったというのは黒人をむりやり主人公にするための言い訳でしょう。 今まで、私はネイティブアメリカンのコナーや、古代エジプト人のバエクになりきってプレーしましたよ。日本人の私にとってはよく知らない文化でしたが、ショーンがアーカイブで用語や文化を説明してくれたので困りませんでした。ショーンの現代人視点の、ちょっと皮肉っぽいツッコミも大好きだった。 よく知らない文化でも、詳細に、丁寧に、リスペクトを持って作り上げられたものならば没入することは簡単です。 コナーとして自分たちの土地と文化を奪われ、侵略者たちのルールを押し付けられる悔しさを体験した後、ディズニーのポカホンタスのアニメを見て「こんなのは偽善だ！」と憤慨するくらいネイティブアメリカンに感情移入しました。(そして、その感覚を“流入現象”と呼んで楽しみました) エツィオの見た景色を見てみたいと、ローマとフィレンツェに旅行へ行き、聖地巡礼までしました。 でも、今回のトレーラーを見て、UBIの時代考証は大したものではなかったのかもと思い直しました。 殆どの建築物が遺跡となっている2000年以上前のギリシャやエジプトならともかく、せいぜい400年前の日本でこの低クオリティ？ 単純に日本研究をしてないのが分かる適当なアジアのミックス。 私が今まで楽しんだローマやパリ、カリブ海、コンスタンティノープルの描写は嘘だらけで、ショーンの説明は作り話だったのでしょうか。 ディスカバリーツアーはその地域と歴史と文化を深く知るためのものではなく、UBIの思想や歴史改変をプレイヤーに刷り込むためのものだったのでしょうか。 このシリーズがこんなことになって悲しい。私の楽しかったプレイ体験や、思い出まで汚された思いです。

UBIさんお願いです 弥助に怒っているわけではありません、史実とは違う人物の経歴、畳の形やススキと桜が生えている時期が同じなどの間違った表現を「史実に忠実」と言わないでください フィクションですといってください、レインボーシックスシージとかでも変な表現の日本描写は多かったので怒りません 史実通りといわないでください、本当にお願いします
