Darby did such an incredible job writing this. I can picture every bit of that Amunet scene. Then to hear Bayek's voice 😢. He actually did it. Darby brought AC back to us.
No they didnt. Assasins are BARELY in this game. Vikings are not Assasins, the hidden blade was given away without the sacrifice or oath. This game had virtually NOTHING to do with Assasins Creed. On top of that the game was bad. Long, bloated, boring, bad leveling system called power, meaningless gear, meaningless world events, Dumb AS F haintings, etc. This game sucked and sales have proven that.
@@cmortonwvu actually the sales were good it’s the best Christmas sale of 2020 also there are a lot of assassin references, they brought back some old mechanics, there are a brief things about Templar’s, hoods, actual assassin people in the game I’m guessing you haven’t played it or finished all of it
@@lynxregions6724 That's not true. The first week sales were the best they have ever been then dramatically fell off each week after. That's why they sold the XP boost which they promised they would not do again after Odyssey and same with the maps etc. They need more profit especially after dissapointing sales with WatchDogs and Immortals. Yeah actually I have finished and have like 130 hours into it. I still don't care for the game and think it's a HUGE dissapoinment. I am a strong Ubisoft supporter. I just think this game sucks.
@@cmortonwvu damn you have 130 hours but don’t care for it then why have so many hours into the game I honestly think it’s way way better then odyssey by along shot also it’s true that Valhalla is the best Christmas sale it was literally said online
Oddly.a it never said who it was by but I like that bayek is a true assassin and not even the hidden ones /assassins know of him except the hidden ones who were with bayek when the creed was founded
Me personally I think it would take place before the First Assassin's Creed, seeing as how this one takes place in the 9th Century CE (Common Era), I feel as though if you put the timelines of Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Origin's and then Valhalla in that order you get how the Assassin's were just an Elite Squad in the Persian Army, to recruiting a Greek Mercenary into their ranks, to being officially formed by Bayek and his wife Aya in Egypt right before the Assassination of Julius Caeser, to when they were introduced to the Viking Clans of Norway through Sigurd to his brother Eivor, and then about 2 centuries and some odd years later you get Altair in the Crusades' Era of the Middle East. it's really confusing but it kinda makes sense to me.
@@ikejames6778 or they could go back a few hundred years, fall of the Roman Empire. I’d enjoy that very much, but I, also, want to see them go back to the Crusades.
@@ikejames6778 The Assassin's creed didn't exist until like a hundred years before AC1, The organization that exist in origins and vahalla are called the hidden ones which are more like proto-Assassins in AC lore
16:42 "alterivs non sit qui svvs esse potest" means: "Let no man be another's who can be his own"... I think so. You have to change the V with U. According to what I read on an page I think it can be interpreted as something like not to be a slave to a another person, but instead to be your own master. Great video.
❤ Thanks. It helps knowing each codicil is paired with an item of gear. I got my first with the Hidden Ones gloves. But after that, I knew I needed help. Thank you! Subscribed.
My tip for new Viking assassins: you can definitely scout the world at a low level. I collected all codex pages at levels 90-110 (which is indeed quite low) Enemies are easy to avoid if you’re good at using Odin’s Vision to check for enemies. It also helps if you enable insta-kill-assassinations in the settings (which I opted to do for a nostalgic experience).
While I do like the guide you for this quest, I do want to add a bit about the Leap of Faith in that Hytham teach Evior about the Leap of Faith, rather then just having Evior already learned it for some reason from the start, like in AC Odyssey, at least from the lore perspective.
Btw there's a glitch if you do the mellee jump ability against a door that's barred you will be able to enter it and it will be really useful with these codex pages
It feels so good to hear bayek's voice after so long I mean the whole thing I was blown away by the fact that ubisoft brought back the voice actor to say those letter I am amazed and also hOw tHE hELl rEDa iS in uK aND sTIll a cHILD !!!!!!!!!!!!
Colchester Essex was the Clark family home town from 1745 to 1864....then my 2nd Great Grandfather Daniel Clark, packed up the Family and moved to Uintah Co. Wyoming and Finally ended up in Blackfoot, Idaho.
It does not work for me. It says the same thing even when I returned it? And I can't talk to Reda? But the button to give him the codex pages is gone. Even though the quest to give him them is still there...??
a bit late but, you can light the torches and Braizers inside the temple to give you light and it gives you a sense of being a real explorer instead of odin sighting it
I honestly thought Reda was just the animus being weird, but he kept some informatiom extremely importantent to Bayek and Amunets story. If what he is saying is true and the Bayek that gave him that is Bayek Of Siwa then Reda might be more than an ordinary boy, maybe a God?
The Latin in the temple of ceres bureau translates to Let not another’s be one’s own. Perhaps it refers to the ‘mistake’ of magister vitus in removing the presence of the hidden ones, and wishing to prevent that mistake being replicated
Pretty sure he's just an Easter egg or nod to AC origins.. now, how he supposedly "knows" Bayek.. idk, that's probably an Easter egg too. It does seem nonsensical tho.
I thought the same thing until he said Bayek gave it to him. Maybe it's just a weird Easter Egg but it's really out there and just creates a lot of confusion about how it happened. If it was just like M'aiq the Liar in Elder scrolls it might have worked, having the character directly reference the past work just makes the cameo pointless and ridiculous lore-wise.
This answers thw question many have asked: Why was bayek forgotten? And why was Aya not? The Magas codex is the answer. Someone most likely transcribed the Codex and uncovered Amunet to be one of the founders. And Reda most likely would not give away his letter from his old friend. And Reda, pretty sure he is a fucking god.
Edit: it appears someone beat me to the translation, but I’ll keep this comment up in case some don’t see the first guy. I got this translation from lyricstranslate.com Alterius non sit, qui suus esse potest -“Let him not be another's who can be his own. Let no man belong to another who can belong to himself.” It means not to be a slave to a another person, but instead to be your own master. The problem with directly translating what’s seen in the game is that the Vs and Us are the same letter, leading to mistranslations.
The Sisterhood letter has the quote from Paracelsus which is Alterius Non Sit Qui Suus Esse Potest. This translates from latin to Let no one belong to another who can belong to one self. It'll be so awesome if Paracelsus is confirm to be an Assassin.
Bayek and Amunet will always live within us all, for those who seek the freedom and evolution of humanity, both physically and spiritually. Even if we fail, we shall do so with pride knowing we did what we know was right.
Neat. Now we just need an Odyssey remake that makes the Mycenaean tombs actually interesting (IDK maybe have the steles reproduce voice recordings of people that surely had to deal with Isu sheananigans and fill said tombs with Isu-inspired Mycenaean armor pieces)
Have gotten all 6 pages and turned them in and now it says 'No one in the settlement can decipher the codex yet' even though Reda's been in my town for awhile. I swear to got this entire game and franchise are fucking broken.
@@rocklover2707 I’ve tried everything man it won’t work. I’ve gave him the pages all 6 but it still says I need to give hytham the pages after he tells me to go see reda
Can someone help me. I have collected all codex pages still it says that I only have 5/6. I have tried different methods but still no improvement. HELP
I have a problem, I collected all the parts of the codex, but the game remembered only two of those six parts. Has this happened to anyone and what should I do now?
One of the tops the feel of the game is spectacular and so is the graphics, it feels like im playing the original assassin creeds with a little of the new
Anyone else have this problem, I collected all the Codex pages and got told to speak to the black market dealer as he has a letter .. If I try to read it nothing happens. Help please
What Ubisoft needs to now, or well something they have had to do for a while is giving us a Bayek sequel. I cant accept leaving such a great character like this. A game in Rome. We will see the making of the tenets. Ubisoft isnt great within the community, but Valhalla is a good redeem for them, it gives me hope for a brighter future for Assassins Creed. But this wont happen with Eivor or Kassandra. No Bayek has to be the next one in line. If Ubisoft wishes to continue with this franchise than they shall listen. A Bayel sequel is needed to save assassins creed from a certain death.
Somehow I got all of them even tho I’m only power 37...I played it really safe and not attacked a single sole. It’s possible to do it on low level power but never get noticed.
So partly at fault of a fangirling magister let slip Amunet’s name but more so because Eivor (now canonically) found the codex pages is the reason only Amunet’s statue is in Villa Auditore, as it goes that’s not the worst lore loop hole patch up I’ve ever seen.
If I could make a suggestion in the future, please make sure that you spend a little bit more time on the actual location on the map I found this to be a problem on other RU-vidrs as well and has prevented me from subscribing to your channel. Although, I will check back and see if this has been revised brother things and if so I will subscribe. Have an amazing day!
