Assassin's Creed Valhalla Review - The Final Verdict 

Just warn everyone here not to click on gamespots review, the first two minutes are MAJOR spoilers plus the commentary is terribly off putting.

i love that whole "your own base / settlement you alway come back to and build up by time".

I’ve played all of the AC games and this is actually fun. Straight away I felt entrenched into Viking lore. There combat is better than odyssey and calling in your troops to help is great too and a good feature. I’ve sunk about 5 hours into it and I still have left Norway

I absolutely love the world of this game. It’s beautiful and full of subtle touches that make it feel alive. The music is also perfect.

Love your review of the game, it's dead on, I got my copy early and I am about 20+ hours in and it is definitely an amazing game and I would also say the music is Phenomenal, I'm hooked on it , highly recommend it, cheers.

Lmk if anyone gave up on odyssey either because it’s story, overwhelmed by amount of things to do, or something else.

I can't wait for a Norse mythology dlc like how ubisoft did for Origins with Egyptian mythology and Odyssey with Greek Mythology.

The last AC i fully played through was Rogue. I played a little bit if Origins which wasn't bad at all, Odyssey was disappointing for me at least. I can feel genuine excitement slowly brewing in me insides after watching this review

My complaint is the camera feels too close. I wish I could move it back a bit. I like origins. Felt at the right length

I just started the game an hour or so ago and I already love it!

Nothing against the channel and just a open view to all channels reviewing handover games to next gen. Why are reviews not touching on the differences between last gen and next gen. Is this game worthy for day one purchase to show off your console. Is there a big difference? Ray tracing? etc. Not taking anything away from this channel...... it's certainly one of the best.

I would like to see an assassins creed game based in Tenochtitlan/Mexico City as an Aztec Jaguar warrior when the Spanish first got there. Imagine climbing those pyramids and running those causeway.

So from what reviews I've seen, this game improves on everything but combat. This game also seems to have plenty of bugs but this is something that can be patched at least. I'll probably be assassinating a lot since this what I did in Origin and Odyssey but I hope Ubisoft can fix the wonky animations.

The “slower combat” is basically a throwback to origins combat system, which was the best combat ac games has ever had. No damage sponge enemies.

Everything seemed to take a step in the right direction EXCEPT the combat and buggy animations

I’m so disappointed Eovir’s bird isn’t as helpful as in Odyssey!

Often times people complain about the over crowding of quest markers. I personally love being assaulted with a shit ton of stuff to do. It keeps me engaged. Then again, I have a pretty serious attention deficit so a game like Odyssey was absolutely perfect for me lol. I could accept a tooooon of quests and hop around and come back. It’s hard for me to stay engaged with stream lined, straightforward story lines/side quests.

Ghost of Tsushima puts this game to shame

The reason for slower combat is because you're using WAY HEAVIER WEAPONS

I absolutely love this game but the biggest issue I've had other than a couple missions glitching but that was a simple is restarting my system or reloading a save. Is the audio from weird audio glitches in the middle of a mission to primarily conversation cues jumping over each other hearing one person talk after they've already walked off or completely losing audio and then it restarting from where it lost but after the animations have already continued. Definitely not hating on this game I really enjoy it but a quick patch to fix some of these issues would be nice.

You haven’t stated what hardware the game is running on here, to me it looks like Ps4 pro or Xbox One X .

As I play there are a few things I like and dont like.. but for some reason the likes outweigh the bad. The fire is HORRIBLE but there is a huge area to explore Parkour is poor, but they added a sprint button which I'm appreciating I dont need lots of armor and weapons I enjoy the fact that as I get a weapon I appreciate it And stealth idrk you can change the detection speed in the settings but they find me very fast idrk what's that about Lastly the GLITCHES.. OMFG my longboat flipped and flew across screen I also have flown across screen and when you kill an enemy they fly across the screen.

I enjoyed Origins, I skipped Odyssey but I am intrigued to get this. Anyone who has played this and Odyssey how does this compare?

Recently replayed Unity, it does still hold up visually today and is probably the best virtual city created in a videogame. But better looking than Odyssey, or Origins? That's a reach too far. Good video though.

If only all games had contextual audio like red dead 2. Muttering to one another across a field as if they’re sharing a bathroom stall has always been a pet peeve of mine. That being said, this game looks awesome.

Played bout 5 hours got to England and I just can't wait to get off work and play some more I'm loving this game, I don't really mind the bugs cause most games have bugs when they come out now anyways

Finally! A review that talks about Assassin's Creed storyline. Most other reviews ignore that part, which is weird since the game itself is called ASSASSIN'S CREED!! Sad to see the story took a backseat in this installment as well.

I want to play this game but that combat looks woefully boring and clunky. And I'm surprised they didn't include something like the mercenaries feature from Odyssey, only instead of beating them and moving up the ranks you could recruit them as allies to help in your Raids.

Well damn this review was glowingly more positive than I expected and I think I'm going to actually pay for this game as I THOROUGHLY enjoyed my entire plan through with AC Origins!

Witcher's Creed: 3 Wild Halla.

I still remember playing the first two assasins creed games and enjoying them lost interest in the franchise due the boring game play historical settings they chose to use. Dipped my feet in black flag because of pirates but thought if only this was vikings and I could raid with my crew. Years later I finally have that childhood fantasy. If you have ever wanted to be a viking or enjoy the tv show buy this game. I could give a shite about the assasins creed narrative but with the viking setting and aesthetics I can ignore it in peace for the most part. I know this game has glitches atm but the game is especially fun on harder setting with its crunchy and brutal combat. I never thought I'd come back to this franchise but this game made me and I couldnt be happier. Thank you ubisoft for finally the viking game I always wanted and ffs please stop this pay for armor horses ect. No one likes it and I wanna piss on the greedy bastard that put it in the game. Once again if you ever have wanted good viking game but this. Glitches be damned I'm still loving it.

Maybe it is just me, but I just can't get excited for games like this. This gen has showed me how important things like animation, A.I., and physics are and the importance of more focused level design. Like this game does a lot, but on a technical aspect doesn't really excell in anything. The inclusion of RPG elements just give down the combat and pacing. This game looks incredibly dated under pretty paint.

This game is awesome, reviewers either play too little or binge the game too fast.

My Least Favorite AC Game.

I'm only about 8 hours into the game but this is the best review I seen so far imo Assassin's Creed Valhalla has the potential to be one of the best AC.

I played it and I love it But please ubisoft bring back old Assassin's creed game or just remake the First one

each story arc feels separate from the others.... I have a feeling they just wanted to lengthen the game's duration and just inserted many stories into the game as one main. It is difficult to tell a 100 hour story.

Steering ship is AWFUL only matched in being terrible by the combat its self. Odyssey' s combat is 1000% times better. Few hours in and I don't like it so far. However didn't like Odyssey to until I left Kefalonia. Then I LOVED that game.

if this game is nothing like any other ubisoft game then maybe i'll give it a chance in the future. I'm tired of ubisoft games, they are all the same: repetitive and shallow side quests

This game is nothing special from all the showings and reviews definitely wait for sale.

Fantastic game so far, I'm about 50 odd hrs in, and I must say I love the storyline, characters, raiding, weapons and gear, and the whole old world style of backdrop, however like in ALL AC games the climbing does have 1 drawback. As in previous games, the player could jump directionally, albeit sometimes in the wrong direction....... don't get me wrong the fact that you can climb nearly everything, except icy shears and some trees, quicker than every game before this one, the fact that you can't jump backwards, or up whilst hanging off a ledge is a little frustrating to say the least, besides that everything else in the game is Amazing!!

Better than both IGN and Gamespot reviews... this game deserves better than an 8. Only thing I disagree with is the combat... besides a few repeat animations, the combat real way more realistic than odyssey

It's a 7/10 at best, mainly due to empty and lifeless open world

Ubisoft really went out of their way with the credibility though. They have hired a norse lore expert ( Dr Jackson Crawford ) whom they consulted with for historically accurate names and runes etc. Eivor, for example was chosen by the prof himself. The prof speaks the elder and younger futhark ( norse language systems) and he has translated many of the eddas and manuscripts himself. He had a lot of lore videos on his youtube channel if you're interested.
