Well played, as always; not that the game can really throw a meaningful threat at you anymore. Almost time to go wipe the floor with three impotent little Avatars and call it a day. Feels like the end of an era. I'd love to see Chimera Squad fill the tactical game vacuum that's about to exist; but Capes is mechanically very similar (and also on my wishlist now thanks to you) so that would be great too.
Phoenix Point would be a much better choice, game is unrelenting and hard, much harder then XCOM. If Pete could just mop the floor with the crab army as easly as he did the aliens in Xcom twice i would be stuned! Chimera Squad is ok at best but that is just my opinion ;) a bit more crude graphicly but have you tried Xenonauts Johnny?
@@marcinzootar9305 I haven't played either Phoenix Point or Xenonauts, actually. I'll look into them; thanks for the tip. And yeah I can acknowledge that XCOM:CS is pretty buggy as well as not altogether difficult (except when it decides to let the enemy roll a crit AND detonate the car next to your agent with a single shot, killing them instantly and wiping the entire playthrough on RNG)
I always thought it was a little funny that the Assassin is the first chosen introduced, because she is BY FAR the most dangerous of the three in missions. The Hunter almost never actually does anything as long as you move out of the way of his Called Shots, and the Warlock usually just sits in the corner summoning zombies forever.
Exceptional Commander Pete, you've shown the Assassin to never mess with your forces. Now that she's out of the picture you can finally set in motion the final preparations to free the earth from the Elders' grasp.
None of the baddies have a chance to affect the PCs, AND the big bad doesnt even get a chance to act AND both the big bad v1, associated mcguffin and big bad v2 are done away with in TWO TURNS. Thats like flawless victory + additional 50%. Awesome dude, simply awesome.
Oh The Grand Finale. After Avenger Assault. Ending the Final Chosen. It's Over and we can also done the Avatar Autopsy here once the ADVENT Network Tower and let's end this once and for all. That Was Awesome at this one.
Funnily enough... Assassin's Katana isn't actually a Katana. Japanese Katanas are curved, single-edged blades, more akin to sabres. Her blade is double-edged and straight. It's a regular sword
About the Assassins weapons, I do feel the Sword is sadly not that useful, since, in my experience, you use the melee attack kill something off, and that is, almost, never on a target that still has armor, the shotgun however. Not only is it really good, but until I had defeated the Assassin I genuienly had no idea she had a shotgun, I saw the gun on her back, yeah but not once have I seen her use it lol Also, needless to say another masterclass on how to humiliate the Elders Chosen! :)
I always love how the bad guys try and justify things by saying that what they've done is so small in the grand scheme of things. Because it leaves the question as to why you're giving something so small so much attention. It's one of those villain cliches that always makes me scoff a little. Much like the 'We're not so different you and I...' as often said by a maniac to someone much more solid morally.
Maybe after finishing Xcom you could go for xenonauts since its thematically quite similar and a challenge but capes is also a lovely choice i certainly wouldnt complain about.
I never have played this game but this seemed like an amazing job. Did the Assassin admit you were going to win before she committed suicide? I was a little surprised she finished herself off with her sword but maybe the rest of the choosen did and I didn't notice. Sometimes I'm just listening to RU-vid while doing other things but I watched this one from beginning to end
Assasin says "you have fought well xcom, i hope you reclaim this world for your own". I always kina figured the assassin was from another world that feel victim to the elders, just came from a more might makes right culture, so xcom winning means that there was a chance the elders were no longer right. Being forced to revive over and over well watching countless worlds be destroyed or changed has gotta fuck you up.
@@hannahorse16 yeah I agree. Of course she has pumped up the Elders in all the encounters before. Maybe I missed when she didn't. But the quote you provided was just a bit surprising though. Maybe she just had nothing to lose by relieving her thoughts just before death
I don't know if it is interesting for you but there is a game called tactical breach wizards that has a demo on steam rigth now and I thougt it was cool. It's also a turnbased tactic game.
Is it possible for some late game missions (example: gorilla ops), with some extra members to the six person squad. I mean doing missions with the double agent and volunteer army perk.
if you want to gain more money from games, you need to play nowadays games or playing game that are easy to play (Xcom 2 war of the chosen is annoyingly difficult) at least explain how to play it. People will call you ask help in the game for money and you will do a zoom and help them to play. If you just play hard games Play them but help people that stuck in this game.
