Thank you so much for all of your tutorials! You have helped me with a huge assortment of questions whose answers may seem obvious to some but not to me. I had a different brand of longarm prior to purchasing the Qnique 21X Elite. I didn’t have automation until now so details matter. If it weren’t for you and Janet George I don’t know how I could do this. You are a lifesaver 😊
Hi Leah, You did an excellent job. I am helping my wife with this project & and your video made it much easier. A little tip on tools. If you use Allen wrenches regularly go to harbor freight & ask for the Allen wrenches with the ball on the end. This lets you use the wrench on a angle to run the screw in. Use the regular hex to make final tighten of faster. Thanks again.
Your video was a life saver for me. I had to replace the optical board on my carriage and although I took numerous pictures before I dismantled the carriage and removed the longarm, I still wasn't sure how the vertical belt was threaded through the carriage. Thanks to this video I'm up and running again!
What a great video! New technology is always fun to learn, but it was the mechanics of this that was so interesting! I didn’t realize how simple this is. Looking forward to you new adventure!
I was very surprised too. I was expecting a much bigger learning curve, but I've had this one week and have nearly quilted an entire test quilt! I'm super excited to play with my own unique designs with the software too. It's amazing what we can do these days!
Great video Lah! Such detailed instructions that I'm sure I will have minimal trouble installing mine when I get it. Do you have a video on how to install the QCT 5 program onto the tablet? Thank you and keep making great videos.
Thank you Delilah! I'm definitely the one that runs for the hammer and drill whenever needed. Just today I've remodeled my office desk to make it a standing desk and I LOVE it now!
Leah I know this question don’t pertain to what your doing here. But as a new and happy mid arm and contimuin frame owner What is the laser deal for on my machine. Same everything you have except mine is a 15 inch. Finally figured out what my encoder are for. Lolol
Is the 19 X basically the same as this process? The book instructs on putting the long belt and brackts out of box N and C first. before the short belts I'm so confused!
I would trust the instructions you have as they are probably the most up-to-date. I shared this video three years ago, so the methods for attaching may have changed.
I've added a laser level to my longarm room and yes, it would have helped with this, but it also helps with loading the quilt straight across the frame too.
hello.. some of the newer tablets come with USB-C ports and not the USB-A or full size USB ports. how is this 'male-male' cable used? what kind of adapter is required? thx
Unfortunately QCT and our longarms are ONLY compatible with the USB-A port and I don't think an adapter will work. I recommend this tablet because it comes with the correct port, is very easy to use, and handles QCT really well - amzn.to/3yG8Tps
Yes, when you purchase QCT, it will come with the drive motor, belts and tablet bracket. You'll need to purchase a computer tablet to use the computerized quilting software. You can read a lot more about this here - leahday.com/products/quilters-creative-touch
Oh boy....I just order me the Quilting Motion touch Pro 5 yesterday...still need to get an tablet. Hope I will enjoy it. May I ask, what size tablet is you have? I can only get size 10 or 12 for mine. Stupid question...does the weight of tablet affect the movement of quilting?
This is the one I'm using: amzn.to/3cLtg8t It's a 12 inch tablet with full sized USB port. Really works great! And no, the tablet weight doesn't effect the machine.
It’s not 100% required to use channel locks to hold the machine in place. I’ve attached QCT to a Cutie Breeze which doesn’t have channel locks and it worked just fine. Having them locks is convenient, but it’s not something you must have for this to work. In fact, if you forget and leave your machine locked in a direction, it would conflict.
@@LeahDay yep. I made one out of a piece of pvc pipe. It works pretty good, but is kinda hard to get on the wheel. I did forget to take it off, one time. Minor issue but I learned from that mistake…lol. I like the looks of yours. I really don’t know why I’m watching this video. I’m not automating my long arm…lol. Just like to watch your videos. Thanks
No, the tablet installation from the QCT thumb drive is pretty straightforward. I do have an update tutorial here - freemotionproject.com/2019/10/upgrading-to-quilters-creative-touch-5-qct5.html
@@LeahDay Thank you I wish it was an option when you buy the program QCT5 you can add a tablet to it would be so much easier thanks for your help enjoy your videos very much keep them coming🥰
Hi - useful video. I normally have someone else do these things for me. Can you please point me in the right direction: a technician installed my system for me, and I don't have any instructions. Where can I download an installation manual?
@@LeahDay Thanks - but I was hoping for a downloadable manual - similar to the Q'Nique installation manuals. New question: My system didn't come with a bracket (min 6:22 of your video). Can I use the one from my Q14+? You're amazing - I live in darkest Africa and it's difficult not easy getting good support!
If you have QCT 5 Beginnings, you will receive an update to QCT 6 Plus in November 2023. If you have QCT 5 PRO, you will be updated to QCT 6 PRO. After you've updated, you can upgrade your system! I'd pick up an upgrade package now while they are on sale! leahday.com/products/automated-quilting
LOL! I really can't garden. Tried it. Failed every time. No, I'm not planning on quilting for service, at least until I have quilted all the quilt tops in the house. And there are a LOT to quilt!
I am adding Quilt Motion automation to QNique 15 pro with QZone Pro Hoop Do I need to change an electronic circuit board? I received one with package. I don’t know where it goes. Help appreciated.
No, you shouldn't need to change anything to do with the motor or system. The box will come with all the brackets and attachments to connect QCT to any frame and machine (so you have lots of extra parts left over). Check the box, check the manual and follow the instructions for your frame and machine carefully!
This is so complex. Why don't you buy a PC Quilter it only cost me 3500AUD and I built my own quilt frame. My long arm 17" throat machine only cost me $1500 AUD
HINT...attach both LOOSE belts through motor board, top and bottom. Place machine and THEN attach your belts to connectors/tensioner. Ask me how I know, lol.
