I've had one of these for 4 years now. Still going strong. Got plenty of years left in it. The only issues we have is with the sliding door. It jams when the tracks get full of mess. To get around this we retrofitted with a Chicken Guard automatic door. Both the Arkus and auto door recommended
Thanks for the feedback really appreciated! Ive noticed that with the sliding door to. Just need to keep it clean to avoid it not shutting properly. Really glad to hear your 4 years down the road and its still good! 😊
Hi Gwenyn, looks nice and easy to assemble I’m just a bit worried foxes could burrow under the front door compartment I would definitely place chicken wire around that area you know how foxes can be very persistent. I’ve just taken my supers off my scouse black bees might be cousins to your welsh bees and this years honey is unbelievable thank you for all your tips and tricks lots of respect mate .
Found this video as I’m seriously considering purchasing one of these to replace a wooden coop which I can’t get clear of red mite. Great video and very helpful. Thank you.
Great vid again Gruff, interesting to see what the quail do to the land and how that can be utilised by moving the coop around the plot. I wonder if you could fit the coop above the veg beds once your finished growing for the year, move it regularly and have them pick through and clean up for a few months eating scraps. Nice looking coop, diolch :)
Thanks Don 😊 That’s a goo idea but I don’t think our beds will be big enough. We will just throw in the waste veg and leaves to them instead. Getting quails on Friday!! 😁
Yep, the big problem with chickens etc is mites rats and rot. This being moveable and plastic looks like a safe bet. I'll wait for your 6 months on review
