I love this!!! I think for my first project i will attempt something like this. I've watched so many tutorials my head is spinning but I like the simplicity and element of grace to this piece.

So grateful that you made this project, and made a tutorial for it. I’m a beginner in slow stitch, and filled with trepidation about how to start. I find your video very inspirational for what to do to start, and your tips! It makes me think, I can do this! I watch Rachel, too, (Roxy Creations) but she’s been doing slow stitch for some time. Here's a hint, the first stitch of a blanket/button hole always starts at the top or edge of the fabric and carries on from there. So if you start by putting your needle and thread a bit in from the edge, just do a straight stitch to get the thread to the edge of the fabric. Hope that helps a little.

There must be a trick for making that first blanket stitch lay properly but I haven't found it yet. I've only done two pages for my book so far so I'm nowhere near this stage! When and how did you add the lace strips between the panels?

Hi Sue yes I think it’s a closely guarded secret with that blanket stitch lol, the lace strips were an afterthought, I was going to do one on camera and was sitting stitching and finished them ! I pinned lace on and did a straight stitch through both the squares and the lace, hope that makes sense 😊

I am a Virgo and the older I get the less perfection I require. I also have trouble with the first stitch of a blanket stitch. Ha!

Ms. Carol, I’m not really interested in junk journaling or paper crafts. I’m interested in quilting, hand sewing, slow stitching. I can watch your videos like this one over and over. I want to see more of these videos from you please. I would like to see longer videos and I wouldn’t even care if you just babbled about nothing in particular. And I would play your videos while I’m sewing too. And please make your hand sewing videos easier for me to find in your list.
