Looks like you have everything all self contained by using an onboard HUD and NERD. So no wrist mounted controllers or anything? What's your backup if the NERD malfunctions or dives and you have a major deco obligation? In the picture I see BM doubles, which I'm guessing is your DIL and bailout... how well does that work with trimix? Basically curious about your BO strategy if you're at say 300ft. I'm seriously considering one of these units... thanks so much!
Nerd is the controller, no need for wrist mounted controller, although will eventually have a Petrel 3 for a monitor. HUD Is the backup. Perdix as my failsafe. Not doing Trimix below 200 feet with this configuration. Eventually I would have another travel bottle added and Backmount will have a lighter Trimix blend instead of air dil and of course a inflation bottle will be added.
@@divecurrent understood, so Petrel will eventually replace the HUD as the backup. That's essentially the config I'm thinking about: Petrel and NERD for redundancy. So if you only have a AL40 for Trimix, what's your BO strategy from 200ft? What do you have in your doubles? Just curious how you plan your dives, etc. Thanks again! :)
@@brois841 my doubles are air, breathable at the depth I’m diving, not ideal, but I get to use my back gas as my inflation still. Im also using it as my bailout if I lost my AL40. ICD is not an issue at that depth either of course. As far as the nerd being the controller, there is no difference if my controller is on my wrist or face. The HUD id still able to run the breather on a fail safe PO2 mode. Perdix is allowing me to do my deco if the crap 💩 hits the fan. But I would have all that back gas and my bailout 02 to end and finish the failed dive. This is only 1 configuration one can use.
