One big issues with cycloidal drive is it's sensitivity to precision. Cycloidal drives are rather unforgiving and slight imprecision can create large backlash. While 3Dprinter are great but the precision offered by 3dprinted are around 0.1mm which is barely enough.
I ended up investing in a proper desktop CNC mill with a 0.01mm precision and the results is amazing.

It is actually funny that it never crossed my mind that you could also utilize those bearing types to also keep two disks apart and couter rhe twisting forces when using two disks in a Cycloidal Drive!

i have never really tried double disk. Back then i was tying to make it as compact as possible. I believe have double disk is for balance to avoid vibration. That's a very good point, i nvr really knew how people kept two disk separated. I guess it might be difficult since they are wobbling. Perhaps people just grind flat and let both of them sit on a thin layer of oil?

@@swannschilling474 i see.. hope it aren't too much of a problem to separate two cycloidal disk. I dont think there much force pressing them together. Those bearings are thrust bearings and the max size i could get is 35x52 (ID x OD). I got them from aliexpress. You might get some luck there. All the best!.

Hi niyas, the ratio in cycloidal drive are selected based on torque requirement. And also, we try to select numbers that 360 deg can easily divide. for example 360 divide by 30 is 12deg per pin and 360 divide by 48 is 7.5 deg per pin. weird number like 19 complicates calculations

I got mine from makersdream, they call the machine "Evo One CNC". a little pricey but their work area is much larger than most desktop CNC.
