I personally think DC deserves his own channel. he does such a great job with camera positioning, too giving us tips and tricks we can use throughout the day! He’s just an all around great person.
I was initially sad to see you pull all those trees out earlier this summer. Now I am convinced it was wise, it would have caused even more damage to your house if they were still there when this storm came through. Prayers for wisdom and endurance offered on your behalf.
I'm an Iowa native (Vinton area), transplanted to Florida by the military, and an avid fan of your videos. I've been trying to keep up with friends and family back home. And to get my mind wrapped around the impact of this storm. It's devastating. There's hardly any coverage from the national media outlets; your videos have been more informative than anything else I've seen outside of calls/ texts from my friends and family. The Cornstar family is so resilient and hardworking. You all make me proud to be Iowan. Standing by for more content, I'll be here to give you a thumbs up. -Good luck and God bless.
@Nebula Rising if you can survive without ANY food grown by a farmer/rancher then cudos. My husband and I are retired and we do have a small garden but I know we would starve if we had to do it all ourselves. But I guess younger people may be more capable of doing it all.
So sorry for everyone’s misfortune and thankful there were no injuries or deaths. Hang in there! I for one appreciate the updates. Stay safe and well Cornstar family!
Without the farmers,,we all would go hungry. The hours, hard work, trials, money, stress and praying that a summer storm, early frost or grasshoppers don't eat your crops or an equipment break down sure puts a huge strain on the family.! I was married to a farmer years ago, some people just cannot deal with it! I'm glad the Cornstar family will be okay. God bless them!
Daddy Cornstar, what you said about farming is like being on a rollercoaster reminded me of something my grandfather told me many years ago. He said in farming to never spend all the money you get in a good year because the next year you could lose your entire crops. He was right so many times. I say a prayer for your family that you can get your repairs completed and also have a harvest that is bountiful.
It is amazing that cole still has a smile on his face that just goes to show how positive the cornstar family is and how blessed they are that no one was hurt you are in my prayers
Just glad to hear that no one was hurt. I've been following Cole the Cornstar for several months now. Daddy Cornstar is a hoot. Love the family values these videos promote. You can replace material things but you can't replace loved ones. Good luck with the repairs and prayers to friends and families this storm has affected. God Bless !!
Neighbors helping neighbors--need more of that! I bet Cole is glad he took down more of those trees around the house now! Cornstar family remember this: Clean up after a disaster like this is like eating an elephant--take it one bite at a time! Not having to deal with any of this mess, what is disappointing to me is I was really looking forward to seeing how this year's crop yield compared to previous years and seeing how much return on investment the Cornstars got, but with the damages to the fields, there is no way to get an accurate comparison. Now I hope for as high a yield as possible.
I heard today that in Iowa there were 2 people who were killed and we had 2 killed here in Indiana. Those poor families need our prayers and support in this time of tragic loss!!! God Bless you all!!!
Thank you for being a farmer. Thank God for no injuries. I am a poultry grower down south, and at some point in the last 20 years some of your crops have probably fed my birds. Hang in there. Thanks again. God Bless you and your family.
Love DC and his infectious optimism. His strong work ethic and generous attitude has certainly been inherited by his family. Cole, Summer and Cooper are prime examples of a well structured and caring upbringing. All three are a credit to their parents. I have no doubt that this family will endure. They are already moving forward in a positive and proactive way. I wish them well in all they do. God bless! 🙏
So glad everyone is safe. It is heartbreaking to see all of the damage. What a blessing that Justin was able to help cover the windows. Good luck with all of the repairs.
I'm just glad that everyone is safe and sound. I'm sorry to see that corn laying down so badly. Hoping and praying that the harvest is really good for y'all and everyone around where can get back on y'alls feet good. Be safe cleaning up and God bless.
Paul Harvey had a segment on his show years ago called God made a farmer. It is inspiring as much today as it was back then. That is why you all are OUTSTANDING IN YOUR FIELD. God Bless
Prayers for everybody , the co-op's and for those that are going to be reaching out and needing help . We are spoiled here in Southern California. Without Farmers we don't eat so thank you so much. God bless you all.
I come from a fishing community and when one person needs help or the community has been hurt then everyone pitches in together to get things done. Seems like it is the same as the farming community. Thinking of you all and sending lots of prayers. You've been on my mind for the last couple of days and I wish everyone in the community the best. Blessings from Maine.
In addition to the damage, all the other damage in the area will clog up the schedules of the people who can repair things. So sorry for the damage, but glad nobody was hurt!
Again Everyone is Okay . Bins and buildings and even trees can be rebuilt and made even better . People can not . So keep smiling and working hard like you Cornstars always do ...
Bless you all. Glad nobody was hurt. I have never met you but you kinda feel like friends, really felt for you when I saw the damage. Thoughts with you all! Take care!
So grateful the Cornstar family is alright. Love Daddy Cornstar. He has such an unbelievable attitude, considering quite a bit of the crops and the grain bin, and the roof to the big machine shed was heavily damaged. Love ya, Daddy Cornstar!
Thank God that everybody's all right. I'm also glad that Cole's house didn't get much damage especially the porch. Sending prayers from The Garden State.
Sorry for the damages sustained during all this but at least you all are doing alright and that no one got injured. Appreciate the positive attitude you and your family carry out. Blessings cornstar family!!❤❤
Ramble all you want. You're an inspiration to us all. To see your family go through this hardship and still find humor is a rare commodity. Bless you all.
You’re in our prayers! Your family has kept me going through the last year of cancer treatments. Words are not adequate to express what a blessing you are to me. May you be blessed with all that you stand in need of!♥️
You guys are so positive on the video!!! If it was me, I’d be crying! Farmers are the backbone of America and we, I so appreciate all your hard work, sweat and maybe a few tears!!! Onwards and upwards!! God bless!!!!!
Cole and Nave, everyone is giving their two cents worth, I know. But I'd like to suggest commercial sized fans and dehumidifiers, you don't want mold growing in the walls/attic/basement! ServePro or one of those kinds of companies can do it for you. Insurance covers it.
very good advise. So sorry for what you have to deal with but you are a wonderful family and inspiring. I am in southeast Iowa, we got damage but not like yours. Take care
I used to work for Servicemaster. I am pretty sure they will be covered by your insurance. I think they will come to your area. I think you should call them. I am worried you will get sick from mold. Call 844-413-3130 for Servicemaster DSI or any company that does water damage. Call your insurance company first..
I think they probably don’t yet have power for fans if they are working with a generator for the fridge and freezer. Good advice when things are up again, though.
As a city girl, your videos have given me a new perspective of farmers. Amazing hard life, but the joy of neighbor helping neighbor is heartwarming. Just watch one video and I am hooked, have been watching for three hours now and I did subscribe. Best wishes to all farmers.
Dang, too bad that wind wasn't kind enough to rip up the grove metal and pile it into the dump truck! 😂 I'm thankful only replaceable things were damaged or lost in that storm 🙏🏼 Blessings to all the Cornstars! 😀👍🏼💕
My mum grew up on an Australian dairy farm in the early 1900's. She would tell me stories of bushfires, floods, even when the army would camp on their farm before going to New Guinea to fight in the second world war. Farming is such a diverse and sometimes heartbreaking profession. I live in the city and have raised our children in the city. We are so grateful for our farmers and having the opportunity to watch your family and learn more about how crops are raised. You do it hard and we appreciate you more than you realise. Thanks for your channel and the knowledge you share. I hope the year turns out to be a better harvest than you expect for you and your neighbours. You just never know from year to year do you. Best wishes from Queensland, Australia.
So sorry to see all the damage, as a farmer I can empathize with you. Things can be replaced, people can’t, you will handle this great as you know what’s really important in life-family. Best Wishes to the CornStar Family !
DC you have more than 3 fans sir! Thanks DC for your words of wisdom through this and you are spot ON; farmers are very unique people and the world is blessed to have them.
I forgot to say Cole your dad's comforting words are wonderful. You have a great dad. Your so lucky. My dad didn't hardly ever acknowledge me. We made peace with each other. Lost him in 2012 due to asbestosis. It was a horrible way to go. He didn't deserve that. He also had a brain tumor. They removed that and when my dad came home he was a different man. Miss him so. Daddy Cornstar believe me you have lots of fans. You should run for president. You have the heart and soul for it and life's experiences with you. Your a good man..
The salt of the earth people. My prayers are with you. Keep going as I know you will. We need more people like you in this great country of ours. When I think about all the happenings in Chicago, I admire your work ethic and strength of body and spirit. God bless you!
Wish my earthly father was like daddy Cornstar. You guys seem to have a great wholesome family. I am eternally blessed to have an amazing Father upstairs in Jesus Christ though!
Cole, Mother Nature will recover from anything! That tree will continue to grow and will fill out. I've seen trees torn up by a tornado, and 2 or 3 years later they have filled out and look like nothing happened. Glad everyone's safe. Keep a positive attitude. This is just another chapter in the story of Cornstar Farms.
Daddy Cornstar, I've had you on my mind, you and the whole Cornstar family. I've been praying that you folks find the silver lining in some of this mess. There's always one, or two, but it is not apparent right now. It'll happen for you folks..just keep up with the chipper attitude and it will turn out. I know that there's a lot of pressure on you folks and the community that you are in. We're all thinking about you. If you need anything just ask us, we're here for you all. God bless you and keep you all together. This too shall pass.
I love y'all. We had Hurricane Hannah come through here a couple weeks ago and there are still places that are flooded. I love to see how y'all come together to help each other out. I wish I was there to help. Prayers going your way. 🙏🙏🙏
Never heard of a derecho, but man, it just acted like a freaking hurricane. Just much shorter, and no eye. Your family was blessed to be spared injuries, and what was damaged/destroyed is just things that can be replaced. Your joie de vivre makes me smile, as you aren't letting this get you down. I have been enduring the heat and humidity this summer (almost 2 months straight), and tomorrow is going to be one of the hotter days of 31C and feel like 38C. Not used to that. Hoping Saturday is cooler, so I can breathe and not have to use my a/c so much. That poor girl has been going almost 3 months straight now. God bless your family and friends around there, and may everything come together in time for harvest. I can't wait to watch you all going at the fields and getting the crops in before winter hits.
Derechos are also known as "land hurricanes" so you weren't far off! Nasty storms and luckily, rare. www.accuweather.com/en/weather-news/derecho-the-land-hurricane-2/420167
I know there are several comments but with your attitude and get it done mentality you guys can get it done. You have an awesome God watching over all of you and through him all things are possible. God bless you and know several fans appreciate you and you all sharing this through the good and bad.
Thoughts and prayers to all. Grew up on a farm in the Texas Panhandle and Mother Nature can be a mean beast. Glad no one was hurt. Daddy Cornstar, you’re a great man. You’re still able to smile, laugh and make us laugh even with all the damage to your farm. You deserve all the good that comes your way!
Cole and daddy cornstar Where the branches tore loose from the trees paint the damaged part of the tree trunk with black house paint that will keep the trunk from rotting away. Good luck with all your repairs we know God is with you.
God Bless you kids. I live in Oklahoma, and lost my home to a tornado in 1999, so my heart goes out to you. Cole, from EXPERIENCE, I can tell you, that tree will come back just fine and like you say, in a few years, you will never know it went through a storm. One day at a time, and it will all return to normal, I promise.
Hi Cole and Daddy Cornstar, so sorry for your loss but totally impressed with your wonderful, "can do" attitude. You are a family of faith and you are exhibiting 100% to a lot of people. You're a wonderful family and the Lord will continue to bless you. - Dean from Minnesota
Keeping all you CornStars in my thoughts. Glad to see everyone so upbeat about the cleanup efforts. Hoping your insurance guy comes through quickly. I know he's super busy right now. Stay strong. Stay together. You guys are amazing. You'll pull through smelling like roses.
tornados, wind storms and freak thunderstorms...as deadly as they are the CS family has a good way of keeping a positive light on things. "we will rebuild" thats a great thing to say. glad nobody was hurt and wish you guys the best.
All of you folks out there are in our thoughts and prayers. Quite a few years ago when I was just a kid, we had a massive tornado rip through our area. We spent the duration in a tornado shelter at the farm. When we came out, we found our house, most of our buildings, and half of our machinery destroyed. I was really young and was scared to death thinking it was all over. My grandpa came over and sat down with me and said, " AJ, our family is safe. A lot of people were hurt and killed tonight and all we lost are things that can be replaced. We need to realize how lucky we are!" He was absolutely right. You will rebuild. You have your family and you have your faith. Every day you get out of bed in the morning is another opportunity God has given you to make the world better and you will. Stay strong. This will just make you stronger as a person and a farmer.
Hello Cornstar family from Australia. So sorry to hear of the damage you've all sustained! So relieved everybody is unhurt. It's going to take time for you all to regenerate, and fix the various damaged sheds, bins and so on. Stay strong, have courage, take heart, and know that you're all surrounded by prayers and positive energy to help you on your way. Take care, stay well, and remember that there are many folks behind you as you move forward. Many Blessings to each of you. With love Esther x
It’s uplifting listening to Daddy and Cole with their positive attitude and faith. Good luck to the Cornstar family and all their neighbors. Things will improve and life goes on. 😘
Sorry about all that guys!! GOD's got it. He always keeps his promise to take care of the faithful. We go through it more often than we like during hurricane season in south Louisiana. Keep your head up. Make people ask, "Why your outlook is so optimistic". Its a great lead into why GOD is so good.
Wow im glad no one was hurt but it sure puts the pressure on for harvest. All the extra work will be a challenge but the cornstar family is strong and skilled along with good neighbors you will prevail. The RU-vid family will stand with you!
One small piece of good news is the attic was cleared and cleaned. What a HORRIBLE mess it would be if it hadn't been. And, now, that the window openings have been secured, all is good until you have replacements. You have an opportunity to have new windows to go with the new siding and porch. As so many others have said, thank goodness no one was hurt. God bless you and the entire Garwin/Iowa area. Prayers and more prayers are going your way.
After a long day of cleaning up my home in cedar rapids watching your videos let's me know I'm not alone in all of this. I think it's safe to say we all just got a little stronger. God bless.
So glad no one was hurt, you can replace things but you can't replace family and friends. I enjoy watching your videos. Take care and God bless you all.
Totally empathize. Cedar Rapids here-looks like a demilitarized zone. Going on second full day no power, no internet but finally somewhat got cell service. Could take a week or two to make real headway.
