I honestly hadn’t seriously considered neuropsychology until I was already in grad school for school psychology. I am really interested in possibly becoming a neuropsychologist, but I have to save money if I eventually want to go back to school 😂

Hi Rachel, I was wondering I watched your video partly because I'm aware that the school psychologist's role does usually involve doing assessments a lot, so I was wondering, do you have any suggestions for resources that I could look into to learn more about them?

I would recommend searching articles on the NASP website and also check out Jerome Sattler's work "Assessment of Children: Cognitive Foundations." That is a good introductory book into the assessment process.

What are some tips that make giving assessments more fun?? I am a first year School Psych grad student and giving assessments feels so robotic. I need advice on what to do so that I can enjoy it lol

I know that you like to do assessments but I think I would like to do more counseling. So when taking a job can I choose what I want to do more or is the job more about assessing children?

Each school district you apply to will (hopefully) specify the roles they’d like the school psychologist to do or they’ll tell you in the interview, so that’s a great way to find out and choose which district to go to depending on the roles you’ll be expected to do!
