NOPE !!! Haha She was just making circles trying to lick on his rear end and that poor baby wasn’t giving up. I thought maybe that teet hurt her for some reason and that’s why she wasn’t letting him latch on. Plus she was still a bit traumatized from the whole thing.

I know this was the first year for this new heifer bull. How old are these heifers? Maybe they need to be older/bigger. In any case, Mike you need to have a set of scrubs in every barn and vehicle just in case.

A vet told me about 45 minutes it what it should take for a cow to have a calf. That 60 minute plan is what I would go with.

Cute bull calf. Im loving these baby videos. Never a dull moment on a farm. Im happier person if my day is busy. Being in my situation where i have been on unpaid medical leave and havent worked in two years due to health. My days are dull and boring. With no income there isnt really much i can do. Except alot of laying around doing noting. I had to find a hobby and decided to do my own business. Which is hand made dog attire at affordable prices. So many people are struggling financially including myself. So i make budget friendly dog harnesses, dog bows and hopefully personalized bandanas. It still doesnt keep me busy enough. As incoming sales are slow. I thought about sending free dog attire to my favorite youtubers to get my stuff out there plus show my appreciation and support.

@@OurWyomingLife No strain at all. Used to be in Radio and the best tried and failed to break me up, on air. In this case, my disbelief continue to mount as I spoon-fed her very limited knowledge. She was left to conclude the cheese was harvested in the same manner one obtains the various cuts of meat. She never questioned the process. It wasn't even a _way-homer_ for her. I must credit her for having some curiosity. After all, so many think that their food "comes from the store". Someone needs to tell them how cow seeds are watered in potting soil until they have grown enough to be planted as row crops. They even have no idea how many people milk the chickens every day or how many times a year one has to skin the sheep. (Hint: More then once a year makes sheep nervous.) 😖

My question is. Dose the size of the calf's have any thing to do with all the green grass last year. You said there was green grass until first frost. I know the bull has a lot to do with it but if mom is eating more doesn't that have an effect on the calf. Great save today awesome team work.

Great job on that pull, the calf is definitely tenacious but watching the Mom in the calf together that mom is not receptive to that calf nursing. I hope she starts settling down but she is not receptive. Great video let’s see what the next 24 hour holds for the pair

Your getting really good at this Mike, course I'm sure you'd rather not have to pull them like me, but cattle farmers have to be skilled at pulling them out of necessity. I like your attitude of just focusing on what has to be done, I'm sure you like me reflect back after the calving is done and assess what went right and what didn't and make the changes to fix any issues. Fantastic job, as always. That one looked like a very difficult pull and unfortunately, mama didn't seem to want to push after you got the leg pull attached. Well done job by all to drop what they were doing and come out to the barn to assist with the calf. # 27 now done and only 3 more to go. Mike, if youtube will allow you to, you should probably show a cow having a c section it's pretty cool. My uncle told me to help the vet to do A C -sections on a cow it is an experience I will never forget it was pretty Amazing. . And everybody should experience it. Even Jeff!

They have done a c-section before. I think it was the year before last. If I remember right calf lived but mama did not.

The Keith Urban song was a nice ending to a difficult birth. Your "30 in 30" shows us some of what ranching is like. Your daughter Grace has a great name. There is certainly a lot of background to the name. Thank you for the video. We were right there with you. Great work.
