It's amazing how many degrees are better at the associate level over bachelors simply on the virtue that you don't waste nearly as much time/money on them.

People underestimate Associate's Degrees. I have an Associate's in Business Management and I was able to get some really good jobs that paid really well, like a material Planner II and an operations manager position! I also have a 2nd Associate's in Business Logistics which is a Business and Supply Chain Management degree and there are so many options out there. In 5 more months I will have a Bachelor's in Business Management and a 2nd one in Human Resource Management. Let's see what opportunities arise.

The problem with an associates in computer science is that none of the classes transfer over to a bachelor’s degree. If you get an AS in computer science and then want a bachelors, you have to start from the beginning. I checked out numerous associates programs and they were all the same way. That’s how I decided to go for a bachelors in computer science.

@ericstewart517
@ericstewart517 Год назад
This is obviously a misunderstanding, most associate degrees period, basically act as Yr 1& 2 of a Bachelor's degree. Several states absolutely set up the CC degrees to transfer directly into Bachelor's degree at the State U of the same state that funds and operates the schools in said state. For example....I lived from Maryland to California and know for a FACT...in either state you can go from community college with an Associates directly to the state public Universities and NO you are NOT starting over. Not at the University of Maryland and absolutely not at UCLA ( the most applied to University in America) In California more than 50% of Cal State University grads started at a CC and about 1/3rd of all University of California grads began at a CC ( that's all 23 CSUs and 9 UCs) Either you didn't understand or got confused but basically mostly an Associates is just Freshman/Sophomore years aka 100-200 level courses whereas the University has 100-400 level courses aka Freshman-Senior The Associates just covers 100-200 a degree is made up of Major General Ed Electives General Ed courses absolutely are going to transfer....Eng 101 is gonna transfer and is basically a required course for any major in America + some Math, some Science etc etc Generally speaking OF COURSE the upper level courses aka 300-400 aka Jr/Sr level courses are taken once transferred to the Uni but the Associates will generally knockout the lower division ( 100-200 level ) prerequisites and absolutely transfer such that one does NOT "start" over at Comp 101 Intro to Comp or say Calculus.....that is a fantasy absolutely NOT true. A Bachelor's is a continuation of the Associates Example If you Google Computer Science B.S. from Cal State Long Beach It like many Bachelor's degrees is 120 semester units It list Core Lower-Division Major Requirements Math 122 Calculus 1 Math 123 Calculus 2 PHYS 151 Mechanics & Heat These are the titles at LBS but if the equivalent course is taken while earning an Associates degree the "credit" for taking that class is credited towards one finishing a Bachelor's from Long Beach State ....even if the class was taken at Long Beach City College Think about it, it would be Moronic for the school systems NOT to accept transfer credit for like courses, especially in-state public colleges.....not to mention Accredited schools across the country. Trust me an Accredited community college course taken in Alabama absolutely will transfer to UCLA, NYU or the University of Texas just fine.
@falkar11
@falkar11 Год назад
That's not true at all. They literally all transfer over to put towards your bachelor's

I have applied for AAS - Computing Science and if anything SOME courses may not transfer but NONE ...?!that's totally not how they do things. Half my classes can be transferred to BA/BS schools . @marksmith4892
@marksmith4892 Год назад
Shane one point that's worth emphasizing about associate degrees is that they are found at community colleges, and that means, they are DIRT CHEAP! There was almost nothing Obama did that was good for America with one exception: he advocated making community college free. I agree with that because the first 2 years are spent by students partying and dropping out of college anyway. There's nothing at community college to do except study. Regardless my point is that the financial footprint of an associates is very small. Of course a person will have to pay with time but not money. Finally, I think associate degrees are a really good idea personally not only because you defray the cost of getting a bachelors if you spend the first 2 yrs at community college but also because a person can get the associates first and make some money and then go back to complete a bachelors or masters WITH experience! Think about that associates in engineering. You get the associates, work for 2 years, then get bachelors, and then you can find employment anywhere. You already have exp. In fact getting a job would be joke easy.

I think their should be a separation between art and design, especially since not all designers are artist. I must also must point out that music is generally a separate department altogether. Although music prodigies don't need an academic background, professional technical music programs such as audio engineering should be separated from traditional academia. Although you don't need academic training for being a sound engineer, a formal education in music theory, pop theory, and mixing cannot hurt. In fact, audio engineering jobs may be less far-fetched than saying you want to play the violin for the London Philharmonic. Nevertheless, even to the artistic dreamers out there, performing in a group in academia might be the doorstep you need to get the audition for the Seattle Symphony or San Francisco Symphony. Do you catch my drift? Hence, clumping this up all as art does art an injustice since not all forms of art are created equal, especially User Interface and Graphic Design. And music , although technically is an art form, even academia separates visual art from performing art. While they both kind of are extracurricular as opposed to technical or academic with better career options, art and music have their technical vocational sides that sit in-between academic and career training. Graphic Design, for example, has the technical side of learning software programs, not just design theory. UX has a lot involved and may require more studying than Graphic Design 1. Furthermore, people going this route should also take a business marketing/digital marketing class or go after a certificate of proficiency in marketing, if you have the time. My school also offers a Creative Project Management class as part of our visual communication department. Yes, a Graphic Design Associate's of Applied Arts and Sciences may lead to small opportunities, but if combine it with a 15 credit Social Media Marketing or a 60 credit marketing certificate of proficiency, your combination will be more effective than the fine arts degree. P.S Everyone if you maximum level of higher education stops at the Associate's level, earn your art degree if you still crave it, but back up with a certificate of proficiency in a business capacity. By doing this you moved your so called D-list art degree to C+/B tier. You might have increased your 90 credit program to 150 credits to 180 credits, which is the amount it takes for a bachelor's, but you'll have added value over the Graphic designer who has no business or marketing experience.

Hello sir. I didn't find a video like you so beneficial. My associate is Economics but my bachelor will be Computer engineering. Will I run into problem because of this and can't get a job? Does employers care about this? Please answer me like someone you care about.🙏 And do you suggest me sir to let go of bachelor and don't finish it? Do you consider it not worth it??🧐🙄🫤😦
