The 20/6 Mayfair limousine TK 9552 was owned and restored by a late friend in the early 90s, I rewired the car and cut out of a sheet of brass the ' Austin Six ' script on the grille and then had it chromium plated.The 18/6 S.W.B Hertford DKN 66 was originally all black and first saw it back in 1968 at an Essex Rally where the original owner spent his retirement driving the car long distances to rallies and on that trip it was from Bristol - he thought nothing of it !.The car was Royal Blue/ Black some 25-30 years ago.Great content as always Richard, sorry I couldn't get to the show this year.

I see very very few Austin Westminister 110s on UK classic car show videos. My dad loved his pastel grey early 60's model. 3.0 or 2 9? With overdrive. I was around 5 years old then. I love your pics and comment, keep it up

Nice to see so many Austin’s in one place it brought back a few memories of cars my dad had in the 60s and 70s particularly the Austin seven mini he had 764 COB and the 998 Cooper in almond green with snowberry white roof LFN 414E was hoping to see my favourite Austin THE CHAMP as I owned one in the early 80s. Thanks for posting 👍🏻🇬🇧

Loved the early “Austin Seven” mini, as a kid in Cornwall my mum had one a Powder Blue 948 HCV, on hot days it reeked of vinyl!

Enjoyed the austins, my dad had a austin a70 countryman, creamy beige colour, I remember him replacing some of the woodwork on the rear doors, must have been around 1956, had a lift to school once in an atlantic, absolute luxury for those days

Many thanks. It looked like a good show. The pre-war Austins are beautiful. I certainly wouldn't say no to a Ruby.

Sid James in the film didn't drive that cab, it was Charles Hawtree. When I was very young I was taken for a ride in one as a birthday treat.

I've watched so many of your videos, but have not yet seen an Austin Sheerline, which is what I have. Love your content though, many thanks for the memories :)

Keen on your vids. I was a lot younger when I brought this ordinary looking Austin. It was a 1957 model just looked like a bigger A55 of the same year. The original owner was no other than the Mayor of Auckland at the time. So any way I purchased it for $600. My dad said you paid what! For that old car. Now this car had a full leather interior and a full wood grain dash board and it was a 3 speed BW AT. Factory fitted with radio and heater. The name was Austin A105 Vaden plas. This car did not get the respect it deserved. 23 bold as brass, I was driving my 61 Lincoln and my 60 Dodge with a TNT 440 727 T/Flite. Over 40 years later a grandfather and I drive a Toyota Funcargo. Amazing Memories. Kind Regards

Great video yet again. Any chance of one with Austin Champs,Gipsys with maybe a few Landys?A friend of mine graduated from an early Series one Land Rover to a Champ. The Champ was a revelation compared to the Landry and I’ve got some fantastic memories of it. I remember us overtaking an old couple out for a Sunday drive although we were travelling backwards at 45mph.Can you imagine 4 heads sticking out of a reservoir?Well that was us with an Austin Champ beneath us. We had to wait ages for somebody to come along an spot us so we could drive out of the water. We never tired of seeing the look on people’s faces and to recount these stories today,they seem barely believable. They’re all true though and none of us were over 16. I think the Champ still exists in pieces in a container..It’s spent longer in bits now than when it was complete. All your videos are bringing back some fantastic memories for which I’m extremely grateful,keep them coming.

Hello there, some nice cars there. I just googled a 1930 Austin 7 and discovered that it is 7 horsepower. My 1930 car is 99 horsepower which seems quite a lot for that time. Having said that, my car weighs nearly two ton so probably needs a lot of horsepower to propel it along and it's OHV. I think the Austin 7 is a side valve. Cheers. Billy.

Hi, the 7 horsepower is the RAC rating for tax purposes, it's not brake horsepower for the engine. Thanks for watching

I wondered if you would visit the NEC show. Judging from other vids I've seen, one would need to be there for the entire weekend to see everything. It looks bigger than anything I have ever seen. Very good selection you picked out, especially those twin engine Minis...😁
@oldclassiccarUK
@oldclassiccarUK 2 года назад
It is enormous, I started at 08.30 and bar a 10-minute butty stop continued until 4pm, and that was going at speed without troubling the autojumble section. It could be done comfortably in a day if there are particular stands/makers that you're interested in, and/or you skip the 'jumble or the auction sections if you're not there to buy. Definitely worth a visit.
