The best part about this fight is that it gave asta the chance to show what he can do. No mana, no powers, not even anti-magic Just raw strength, willpower, and a badass display of swordsmanship. He is The GOAT
Asta Learned From Kiato: A State of Serene mind Licht: How to Parry Fanzell: A Second Strike Mars: Stance to shift weight Yami: Quickdraw Slash and Death Thrust
Yuno is strong, powerful, bless by magic, and is truly a remarkable character. But the fact that Asta was born with no magic and trained diligently to get to this point is the pinnacle of this moment. In my eyes, Asta is the most likely character to become the Wizard King. He is truly an inspiring character, rise from the bottom and soar to the stars
You gotta admire it, Asta has mad fucking skills, he's using a katana with his non-dominant arm without the aid of any sort of magic or anti-magic, and he can replicate death thrust from the air pressure created by just how strong he is, Asta has become a literal gigachad across the course of black clover
I think everyone misses the point why asta won. His victory wasn't 'cause "he beat the inner demon" or "he trained really hard and is strong now". He won because he was more experienced than Liebe and fought with powerfull sword users.
Well there's no harm in the "He trained really hard and is strong now" bit... Like my takeaway is that Asta is proving to the audience that he's not useless without Anti-Magic and his training wasn't solely to hone his Anti-Magic powers. He's showing he could still beat a powerful opponent on nothing but the fruits of the strength training he's been doing for his entire life.
I think the point is more that, he was fighting with strength he gained from (facing) others, while liebe was fighting on his own(which is why he emphasised alone at the end), soin a way kinda the power of friendship, but in a non-repetive way.
Asta is that one dude that just grinded the hell out of a game without any paid shit, meanwhile others who spent their entire savings on the game can’t even go up his level.
Yeah but it's more like Asta the dude who spent time learning the game's mechanics while the others are just p2w players who went directly into 1v1s mode without learning anything lmao
Asta is the player that read teh guides, forums, practiced and grinded his way, others are p2w that learn after getting their ass handed to them or inherited big bro account and are learning from it
The purpose of this fight was to show us Asta’s strength . Many people thought anti-magic was just a crutch that Asta always relied on and he’s nothing without it, this fight proves otherwise. Which is the reason why I loved it. Asta didn’t become who he is because of anti-magic, but rather through focus, commitment, and sheer fucking will.
@Just Trolling! Anti magic is asta magic , remember julius is powerful because of his magic as well as yuno , because the grimoire chose them , the same way the 5 lea grimoire chose asta cause he was the only human without mana in the kingdom
Its more like eventhough asta has anti magic but he still doesnt forget his root and still train as much as before he had the anti magic.. Some people might abandon their training when they got their magic not for asta..
@@shaddy461 In Black Clover Demons are people who fell into despair and transformed, while devils are separate beings that live in the underworld. Licht had turned into a Demon and the first Wizard King Lumiere had to kill him.
This may not be the flashiest fight, the stakes aren’t as high as before, it’s build up wasn’t at the forefront of the show. But it’s still one of the best damn fights in the show so far
when they animate his unite mode, you know, the one where he kills the ancient demon destroying Clover Kingdom, that is the buildup. This is just a warm up.
I was randomly reminded of Black Clover (inside my mind). So I came back to some scenes. And this was one of them. Man! Love this anime so much ❤. Still sad that they canceled it 😭! Hopefully, it’ll come back one day. But as of right now, we have the movie coming soon. So 😁
What I really like about Asta and Liebe is that individually they're among the weaker spectrum of their own world, but if you combine them together, they amplify each other way out of proportion.
When he kept going on about fighting alone all that time, I imagined Asta saying after that final thrust "That's your problem...you thought you were on your own."
When Asta and Liebe finally combine after achieving ultimate brotherhood, we'll have the voice actor's of Shinra and Bakugo as one, the ultimate combination of exploding hands and exploding feat
Probably the only Shounen protag who wasnt born with greatness but instead worked hard to keep up in a world full of individuals who outclassed him. Even with Anti-Magic, he has his limits against powerful foes and was never alone in his battles as he chose to fight alongside his friends and allies rather than shoulder it all on his own.
@@alansalas1880 yeah they’re different but do have similarities, they both were born with no powers in a world where everyone has powers and they work hard to improve their body to keep up with other extremely gifted people, one of which is their childhood friend who is jealous of the main character’s resolve. And as they’re training they also learn new ways to use their power. They are mentored by extremely strong people who they share a lot of similarities with and fight in a similar way before learning from other people That being said I much prefer Asta since I never really liked how Deku just got have literally the most powerful quirk while Asta stays true to having no magic and has a clear weakness
This guy goes from genji montages to satire sexist videos to talking about controversial topics to uploading anime episodes... This is the ultimate youtuber.
@@Eg-yf3lu actually if anti magic is strong enough it can cut through non magic like zagred's trident and dimension (we saw him did that when he was training with nacht)
There's a scene in the manga that the devil asta fighting that the devil power is increasing then asta say's "I can't sense any magical power so I don't have a clue"HAHHAAHAAH
I got so emotional during this fight. Besides the obvious references to his "teachers" and watching how much Asta grew. It was the feeling of watching him fight his own fears, his own weakness, pain, etc represented in Liebe. He literally fought his own demon and won. He became a man so strong that this time it wasn't raw emotion in charge of his sword, but his mind, body and soul. He became so wise he understood that you "defeat" darkness not by erasing it, but by embracing it. And after everything that he went through, his innocence is intact. Nothing beats a guy that is strong enough to be kind. At least in my book... Anyways, I'll see myself out.
embracing darkness is just as flawed but anime or movies would say that its as simple as learning what it is and how it evil works and not letting it consume your mind and soul that's how you defeat it with TRUTH if not it will consume either way people really think physical strength can defeat things like that but no matter how strong you physically are you can easily still lose to so many powerful things out there and darkness aka evil is one of them just by deceiving it has consumed and defeating everyone though many cannot see that they lost and think they are strong the devil plays smart which is a powerful strength especially when others are full of themselves and thinking they are right. i agree on everything else you said he fought to defeat his fears and weaknesses though we will always have those forever we are not a God and asta went through pain and fought his inner demons and is very kind though we must be careful with kindness but your right about that though i would also change your last line from guy to human as we can all do that.
Episode 170 definitely is a perfect (temporary) ending of the series. (Edit: Thanks for the likes!! Let's enjoy reading the manga while waiting for it to continue :D)
This is honestly why i love asta. He has trained so fucking insanely HARD to the point where he is a walking muscle. He is proof that hard work > natural talent. If you work your ass off, you will make it with enough patience
It amazes me how people look at Asta and forget he's literally a walking muscle, even without a sword he'd of found a way to win this fight lol. Boys trained his entire life to prove people he isn't weak and he's got one goal in mind that he isn't going to give up on just because he lacks magic. Liebe should of realised this sooner.
I mean, just look at him, I think he can beat anyone physically with just one punch (except Mereoleona and Yami of course), just look at those arms, he restart your systems with just one hit
lt tells us how much a person can affect another one's life. This fight showed us how Asta learns with every encounter he has had with others. GOAT CLOVER
This is really making me emotional, I first watch Black when I was 12, now I am 17. I have never once drop it despite all the haters, because Black Clover was my first favourite anime and always will be
This scene is perfect because it’s literally like fighting your inner-demons. Liebe reminds Asta about how he was super weak even with anti-magic before the time-skip. The devil-binding ritual is literally Asta coming to terms with who he is.
@@fujimizuki9727 honestly? I love the added detail they put in the anime. It doesnt feel outta character or anything and in this fight Asta is trying to tell Liebe he overcame his trials with Liebe's help, and he is trying to reach out and help him do the same
I love how Liebe's been with Asta from the start and is only now realizing the latter used anti-magic to supplement his swordsmanship, not the other way around. Case and point: all the anti-magic in the world doesn't do squat against someone who DOESN'T HAVE MAGIC ANYWAY
But asta is the only one with no magic but still he can still do things that other people need mana to do it, I think his father must be someone special because he could withstand lícita
@@simplestickland3367 not mana but he must be someone special to withstand lícita condition, maybe an angel, but I doubt we will get to that seeing this is the last arc and tabata hasn't brought it out
@@Duurii22 scream breathing first form: DADADADADADADADADADA This allows the user to move faster by screaming a word. Distracts the opponent thinking it actually hurts but it doesnt
Its not an air cannon. What yami did with his “Death thrust” is he condensed raw mana into the tip of his blade (using a mana zone to gather the mana, and mana control to condense it) once hes done he uses both the built up pressure and his sheer strength to blast it at his enemies.
I think it’s more about the lack of content, they’re getting too close to the manga, I think they will come back better than ever after the manga is finished
Love the fact that this show has teamwork and comradery mean something, to such a degree that even when Asta legitimately does win a fight all on his own he attributes it to all his friends and enemies who taught him things along the way.
I may have missed something in an earlier episode, so correct me if I'm wrong, but Asta almost always says "You Lose". I'm fairly certain this is the first time he says "I Win". Pretty symbolic of how he's grown as a character.
I mean it kinda gives depth to the show, unlike many other shows where main char- has a demon/other side who is mega strong, badass, ancient guy/girl but unlike them Liebe grows with Asta and we can see them bond(In manga that can be seen a lot)
@@banjoowo4001 that was akward asf, i was expecting it to be overpowered because of his anti magic thing and purely high QI lookin style not a script overpowering
This is why this is the best fight scene in BC. Asta has no magic, no anti magic, no arm, and going up against a demon, and all he's got is raw strength, and he proves how much of a legend he is.
It's weird how I haven't watched a single episode of Black Clover, but I've watched this fight like 30 times at this point. Whoever was in charge of storyboarding this nailed it.
Years of training his body and mind thanks to his ambition then having so many talented fighters and a strong master then his captain. Love the fight now just because it shows off his raw power but shows the results and how he has come since episode 1. Not to mention the raw emotions
Say what you will about Black Clover, but it's nice to finally have a Shonen MC who isn't completely useless without his superpowered evil side. Looking at you Naruto and Ichigo!
@@burpbot7555 No. Basically, 98% of the cast gets a whole bunch of new crazy powers that are stronger than anything we've seen so far in the entire series. To put it into perspective without giving any spoilers: - Mereoleona is on the same level as Lumiere was and could easily defeat Demon Licht alone - Asta could easily win a 1v5 against five full-power Zagreds at once - Yuno could defeat Dante (when he attacked the Bulls hideout) by himself three times in a row - Nacht can survive a certain-death scenario by stalling the opponent for hours - Theoretically, Magna can slay a god - Rill's magic can amplify others until they're literally unkillable - Mimosa's healing is so strong that she's basically Jesus Christ - Jack the Ripper has the potential to cut through more things than even Yami if he has long enough to adapt - Gordon's entire family could gang up and beat the shit out of Megicula, curses and all - Grey essentially has access to every single magical attribute in existence if she can stop being embarrassed long enough to focus
Anyone else tear up watching this? Idk why but I've seen lots of shonen anime where the protagonist shows how far they've grown, but this one in particular makes me tear up at this boy growing so much
Liebe: “You don’t even have magic or anti-magic, so what the hell can you do?” Asta: “I got these fucking hands… or hand now. My point still stands. Oh, and I have the power of friendship.”
@Just Trolling! even then he has gotten clapped hard, like when paired with yuno they couldnt beat a half awake Licht, he beat Liebe cus he had fought more than him, he was the one risking tooth and nail in each fight while liebe backseated, asta just had more experience as a swordsman and never stopped gaining it as he kept training, practising and fighting
@Just Trolling! yep cause asta didn't lose to licht right or how without yami was getting destroyed by Dante or how when him and Vanessa and finral faced vettos did he win by himself no
@Just Trolling! bruh asta Been training since day 1 liebe may have anti magic but asta learned ki anti magic skin etc meanwhile liebe was stuck in the grimoire
Asta said he was holding back, I believe because he knew he was Richita’s son. Also he holded back because he wanted to say thank you to Asta because he got to fight two High-ranking devils (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, read the manga).
@@tr_j_012 Yes, i forgot that part to mention. But still Liebe didn’t have any experience in fighting anyone, so Asta helped him feel like he was fighting strong enemies. Without both of them, they’re going to lose.
Asta literally fighting for his life to save his friends and to prevent the gate to the demon realm from opening meanwhile: “Liebe worried about losing because he spent so much time cursing”
That would be the funniest thing too, cause without magic some of the strongest characters in the series would look like a bunch of nerds except the ppl who actually trained their bodies like Asta, Yami, and mereoleona
@@Prantikde Well I wouldn't call it trash nor do I support calling any anime trash 🌚?? But yes it's not as good as Naruto Shippuden but I believe it definitely will get considerably better after time skip, lol's 🌚
i really love how the anime portrays asta journey up to here, Asta across the series has always remembered each thing he has learnt and experienced, the words of Fuegoleon, Sisgoleon, Julius, everyone, and its done in a "show not tell" way, Fuegoleon taught Asta to always keep calm and collected, to think the situation through, and how we see it? Asta has almost not a single "rage anime" moment, the one against dante? that was Liebe, not asta, Julius words of what merit means, give asta the validation and means to just push himself to be an over-achiever, he always there doing a plus extra, Mereoleona in the training volcano, did question him and made him try to learn more of himself, and he shows it on how he handles things, and Yami being a mentor that gave him a place and opportunity at first, along the others swordman he's fought with which showed him different things too
MAN chapter 321 just hits different. It may be the most overused thing in shonen but you gotta love an inspirational moment. Black Clover really makes me feel the hype.
For the people who love this anime regardless of what anyone says, the movie is coming and when it does we will make sure that they continue the series after the movie
Very short, and not much particularly epic battle scenes, yet still one of the most exciting and chilling fights in anime. This was an absolute masterpiece of a fight, super well written. I feel bad for those that dropped the show
Man, no matter how many times I watch this when yami appears I get chills and tear up every time bro it’s to good, especially with what just happened to him
What I love about this fight is how ASR’s is winning because of experience, showing how he’s learned from the best swordsmen around, the only thing that rivals this in terms of truly experience based wins is Gingka from beyblade metal fusion where his bey used the powers of his friends to beat his opponent
Even after Astsa getting anti magic and all the op abilities that came with it, he never stopped training his body and the smaller abilities that don't use anti magic like his body, Ki, and swordsmenship. I'm not sure if hes understanding people's fighting styles by reading there ki and adding it to his own but if he is that's really smart and Astsa deserves more credit
