MASTERPIECE of the Pixel art !!!! BEAUTIFUL game !!!

The Sega Saturn had a lot of really unique games that oozed personality. It's a shame that it never had the chance to shine.

One of the best games ever, and my time as a child was truly the best so far in history.

Why do old games have such interesting background stories?

IIRC, this game was made with the intention to show off what the Saturn was capable off. Since the Saturn didn't caught on, Astal meet the same fate. Sega made great systems, but they kind of sabotaged themselves with bad business decisions.

This and Bug where my first Saturn games,Astal is the very definition of hidden gem & should be remastered or remade great Nostalgia, (didn't beat this one I actually traded it in with the Saturn & a couple of bucks & got Ps1 nevertheless hidden gem I always speak highly about Astal ,Cheers

I really wish Sega rereleases this game and Clockwork Knight 1&2 on Nintendo Switch.

Beautiful sound design and soundtrack, I gotta look more into this game; reminds me a little of that Lemmings platformer Lomax

Jerado kind of sound like Heihachi Mishima So just looked at the behind the voice actors, the late Daisuke Gori did voiced Jerado

I've never seen the tree sprite get stuck after hitting Jerado

The man himself finally showed Astal some well deserved attention it needs.

You could restart the stage I think but no saves and this game is tough. I didn't know about the level select code in 1995. Took it back (imagine that nowdays) and bought Myst.

Wouldnt mind seeing this be remade

These graphics look very much like a euro platformer! Considering that the game is Japanese?

The sprites look 2D but then the game does that 3D spin effect.

So, this is the less fortunate version of Rayman right? Jokes aside, this game is pretty good despite that I haven't played it, hope SEGA remembers this game and give it a remake. (I've seen several gameplays, and I saw that the games despite for having a good ambiance, it doesn't give us the freedom to at least "explore" the world with much detail, if you know what I mean ofc)
