Hello, which player (Astell & Kern SA700 vs Astell Kern Kann Alpha), Astelle A&Norma SR25 has the better sound, i.e., bass, treble, voices, speech, the best package ebend. As much as I have wanted to get a Astell and Kern dap, the software side leaves much to be desired. Hearing that that some can no longer support tidal or other streaming services makes me nervous as well. Seeing some of their not that old recent caps that no longer support tidal is really disappointing. When you see a ibasso dx300 with a smartphone screen and performance and good sound quality that comes in under these Astell and Kern should wake up. I know their optimizing their os for music playback but it shouldn't be trading that for a unresponsive dap that goes oboleste quick. Another things is Astell and Kern seems to release new units rather quick making what you just bought obsolete quick. A lot to spend on a file music player with no streaming capability in the future.
I got the SR25 and compared it to the M11 Limited. The Fiio DAP is so much better that I don’t think I can trust A&K with my money again. Their DAP’s are outrageously unresponsive and unintuitive.
I just listened to both yesterday and SE 200 is a better Dap, I loved the left side sound of SE 200! I didn’t had enough time to play with it though, and I couldn’t listen to the second module of 180 with ak Dap and supposed to sound better then the 1 module. Anyway overall I liked much more SE 200 , is easier to hold , smaller, lighter and the ak dac has a bit more juice,also.
Just got an SE200 second-hand a few days ago and I'm absolutely blown away. I agree the AKM side has just got _something_ that the ESS side doesn't. I mainly listen offline to FLAC and DSD, but I'm happy I can stream Spotify, Tidal and watch RU-vid on it if I want to. I think I'm going to be happy with it for a long long time.
hi there is rarely a comparison between different type of portable devices for example between a dap, a dongle and a dac/amp. the ultimate goal of these different genres of products is same afterall. so how should consumers know what they should expect from them sound quality wise. i want to buy a portable and have a 1k budget and sound quality is my only priority but don't want to pay more than it is necessary. don't care if it is dap, dac or dongle. which type of product should i investigate? tx
ok they may have another modul soundcards, but as the prosesor & ram that lack of power i might consider go with another daps. it would go the other way of AK use SD 888 series chip and 12Gb of ram & amoled screen.
@@goodnightmoon i just compare them to dx300 witch is cheaper & from spec sheet & ui make ak big name left in smoke, but it's just a matter of sound preference & for some just proud using big name & expensive products to brag. what the procie still using chip rock? and charge over others daps with module?
Very happy with my SE200 too. Like you I prefer the AKM side, but it’s interesting to have the choice and explore the differences. (Also happy I picked mine up in a Black Friday sale for a 30% discount!) Not that convinced by the SE180 concept. As you say, you’d end up paying significantly more to buy future ‘cartridge’ thingies to swop with what’s already there, which just seems unsatisfactory. It also chunks up the design and weight too much for me, it’s lost the sleek elegance of the SE200.
looking at buying the se180 as is currently on special for the same price as a used dx300. still worth it? cant even find a new dx300 for sale(australia)
I listen to the DX300 and DX320 (all 4 different amps) and annoying to say, NONE of them came even close the the se180 with standard amp, then I inserted the SEM4 amp... okay Ibasso was gone... I hate the slower interface, but man the sound quality is superb... I even listen to the whole line of Shanling (only the m9 plus, was on par of the se180), Fiio daps.... no change
Is just a bit worse sounding then se 180 and which is worse then se 200 which has even more volume power .. thing that lacks a bit in m15 and 180 for full size cans
I listened to all 3 yesterday and for me se 180 sounds already better then m15, which after hearing so many great opinions about it was a bit of a deception, se 200 is definitely sounding much better and has even more power,
I have a A&K dap and the sound quality sucks in comparison to a iPhone with a chord Hugo 2 or with my Woo wu8. It was my biggest hp purchase regret. Never again.
