Thank you, the guy training me on sulfur capping forgot about it and made me do something else in the lab 😂

It takes only a very thin film of oil on the capping plate. I learned it's just as effective to wipe the plate with a smooth towel after applying the oil. You'll get a capped surface that looks as smooth as glass. Every little bit helps when a lot rides on the results.
