Excellent research and review I Always visit Aston hall when i can Id seen some Ghost footage on the room where the poor Daughter was locked up Its very Impressive ,ill see if i can send you the link Thanks Again .
I'm not sure if the story of locking up his daughter is true. He organised a memorial carving in church when his daughter died. To me that doesn't sound like he mistreated his daughter.
I did read that he had at least 16 children, and as we don't have names for all of them it could be that one of these was the daughter who is the subject of the legend. Or it could be a different woman entirely! I mentioned in the video that a different version of the story was known to folklorists in the late 1870s. Whoever she was, she seems to remain at the hall!
As a child walking with my dad to the stadium (villa park) i would often look up and catch a quick glimpse of the Hall. That was the mid 80's and only now i have learnt something about it. Brilliant videos, thank you.
