Love how Harry really pushes the car as far as he can given the conditions! The fact it’s over million quid’s worth of somebody else’s motor doesn’t phase him at all. Excellent review as always!!
Surely! I must admit, I thought it sounded Italian, & if I had to guess just from listening, I'd have been WAY off the mark. Am not a big fan of the modern day Aston. They are just too much car... They have lost their nimble way from days of yore. I think the Nissan 370Z is the modern DB5, in terms of dimension & general shape. Or even the lil' GT86. I honestly believe an Aston of that sort of size & weight, with a fearsome V6 or some such, would be a true out-&-out driver's car, & I really think AML have missed a trick by missing that nimble aspect, & constantly in pursuit of these hefty, large, intimidating cars. Good for the executive market, sure, but forget your UK country lane shenanigans, like how I was raised. Dunno why I felt the need to spout all this, but, well.... I guess lockdown has me extra-sociable! stay healthy Alex, all the best.
Amazing how in nine years Harry's voice and presence on camera has changed. I almost questioned at first if it was him for a second. This must be the early days. Now he is so much more relaxed and natural. As a RU-vidr trying to find his own voice this to me shows that patience and practice pays off.
Such a subtle car compared to the Veyron, Zonda 760 LH, Ferrari Enzo and the McLaren F1 and I have to say that I'd have this over ALL of them just its character its amazing, It looks Stunning, amazing, elegant and what I'd use it for is just cruising.
Saw this car only once on the Autobahn and I must admit: It is amazingly beautiful! Aston is building wonderful cars or centuries - and this says a guy from Germany =)
fastasfox hahaha, good call. i was actually thinking the same thing, but ended up sticking with the 6 year old m5 because of the back seats and trunk space. it had nothing to do with the price or the near impossible task of actually finding one for sale, i promise.
Saab is much better, I'd rather have that one, too. Most Astons seem to be a maintenance nightmare after the warranty runs out. Just imagine the part prices for a mostly unique designed exotic car built in only 77 units...
Any body who drives a Saab knows the secret; Jaguar XJ/Mercedes S class driving experience for a bargain, bullet proof engines, Swedish quality engineering and avarage car fuel economy. (95 2.3 Turbo Aero 260 HP...sufficient)
When I first saw this car I fell in love. The design is gorgeous just beautiful, the engine is by far the second best sounding V12 besides the F1 that iv heard.
That styling is almost cartoonish - yet so gorgeous and dramatic! And that engine note - such an eager V12 snarl that rises so quickly to that animalistic howl. The best sounding V12 yet? Plus Harry Metcalfe appears to be one of those drivers who knows how use a serious performance car on public roads properly - enjoying it where possible but wise enough to know when to ease up. Another superb review and why Harry's Garage is the choice for the discerning car enthusiast.
I love that you don't play silly games with the car, you open up the taps and let this amazing engine to play its party piece. Truly fantastic piece of British engineering.
I never really got hocked on this car, though it looked amazing when released, I considered it to be more of a prototype/show project than a real Aston. This episode was really great in seeing this car in a different light and it is truely amazing - it sounds mindblowingly good when it gets openend up, absolutely a crazy and special car. Hope Harry can get another go on in a dry weather set up. Great sound edit/recording. Thanks a Lot ;).

all day, i could listen to either Harry talk about cars or this engine run. either is just fine. and i love the grime and chips around the badge in the paint at 12:28. i am tired of looking at perfect perfect perfect.
This car has been used a lot. Just look at 12:30 where the Aston Martin emblem is shown, the color comes of. It's great to see one of those rare supercars actually being used, instead of sitting in a garage untouched.
Harry is much improved 10 years on in front of the camera! So rushed compared to these days. I saw the one-77 at a luxury car garage yesterday. Its a stunning piece of automotive design. Amazing when you can spend the time walking around it and soaking it all in
First time on this channel ... specifically looked for 1-77 reviews. Must say I love the presenter. He knows his stuff without any o er the top presentation allures. Would love to drive it. Crazy the zero storage ... but whi needs luggage having an unlimited credit card in the pocket. Hardly seen such an extreme concept. In every aspect.
Looks just like the Porsche CGT except front/mid engine carbon cradle. The 1-77 is a stunner and a bonified limited super sports car. A shame only 77 were made because very few will ever get to see it on roads let alone be inside for the dramatic drive experience. I’ll take mine in black
It's amazing that Harry can get into a car like this and he's a complete legend. Mr JWW, Shmee, SOL, STG and their ilk, you just think 'what a polesmoker'. That's the power of actually knowing something about the cars and not just the marketing guff they regurgitate from the car companies.

As a Canadian who knows about driving in freezing temps, it looks to me as if road salt has accumulated on the car's flanks. (In areas where there is a danger of ice forming, workers will scatter rock salt on the blacktop as a preventive measure.) I can’t believe they sent this quirky car out in such a dangerous driving environment, especially when salt will permeate every orifice in the car, doing its metal bits not a bit of good.
